she's an alicorn cyclops thing with a second head on her tail. the other head is incapable of speech but can communicate with Pearl through thoughts. they have separate brains and share their digestive and nervous system. losing her second head would not kill her but would possibly cause her to undergo emotional distress that could be bad for her health.
It's not known whether or not Pearl possesses the powers that most alicorns are known for because she does not use them at all. She is capable of using her magic to move things and make things float. She is also capable of flight but chooses not too because she has poor depth perception (because of her one eye haha), and is afraid she may crash into something. Pearl is pansexual, like Lumious and Scheherezade. How she came to be is unknown, and she isn't really worried about that either.
