i think i seen zootopia. knowing there was a beta cut version of this film makes me actually hate the current one in my opinion. originally it was suppose to be darker involving predators wearing shock collars and nicks son getting taken away. but it was cut for a more friendly version. now i dont like zootopia because of that. it could have been better.  maybe its because my childhood was in the dark disney days and now they gone soft. i just want that dark realistic tone back

oh, my bad. to be honest it was late at night i watched that and i was nearly knocked out asleep. so i could only see some parts before i decided to cut it off. its sorta a blur but i remember the most important parts. sad they cut it for a happier ending. id like to see a show for once where no one gets their way and they lose. it would be the first time ever. sorta like seeing spider man die type of vibe. i feel that it gets boring seeing the good guys win all the time. its why i been interested into the english dub bleach. the good guys dont always win and they meet enemies more powerful each time. depending on the protagonist. it feels like everyone is a marksmen and you never know who could kill who with their power since they are each a incredible threat. i feel like equal odds should be more of a thing for shows and movies these days. but thats just me

Naw not only you. I would like to see the "dark" version of this movie too. I'am not against an happy ending but the way to this ending can be more darker in my opinion. And it would be more fitting for a story like this about racism, sexism etc..

Well, we never will because they wanted a fantasy story, that's the new generation for ya

We got that.. it was called Breaking Bad and many other series and movies have shitty endings.

The original cut, Judy was a backseat and more of a sidekick to Nick. The new one she holds her own and its a strong female protagnoist, which is rare for a Disney film (at least before Frozen it was).

Zootopia tackled many issues and I'm glad it did. Also it's a Disney movie... I'm not sure what sort of dark Disney films you're thinking of, but the dark animated movies of the 80s and 90s were not made by Disney. Hell, Disney even made Anne Frank a happy story.

A lot of them were dark back then, but now it's sorta like they try to make it for kids instead of for kids and adults, but then again mode media is these days which is why I stopped watching tv, stuff is too friendly and the lack of smart or dirty humor makes it not interesting. If I remember correctly power puff girls had tons of adult jokes and billy and Mandy had that serious tone to it. I just don't see anything like them anymore so I quit tv

If that be the case then you must see the anime series Gantz. It is a bit long but it is what you say you are looking for.

Oh' and Death Note. It has two different types of good guys in it. But they are on opposite sided of the law. Each are doing what they think is good for everyone, but the other don't see it that way. And no, they don't teem up or anything like that near or at the end.

The ending to both Gantz and Death Note were a bit surprising to me.

As for a change in a story, I heard the movie Suicide Squad is being remade some to make it less dark than it was. That to me is disappointing.

I am sort of with you on this. I prefer a happy ending to a story, but I like the dark sad endings as well. There are plenty of such sad and dark stories in anime. And plenty made by both furry and brony fans alike. I know, I have read many from both groups, and made a few myself. One unfinished trilogy I am currently putting out on this site, and may finish one day, if enough seem to like it.
