So, after posting those last two sketches I... kinda sorta maaaaaybe... did a backflip. Eyup.
Here's my first drawing for the month of May. I totally even forgot it was the first. Fancy that.
I'm sure some of you might remember Ace, the Space Horse Racer! I decided to try something different and drew in white on a black background, because a white canvas is SO BRIGHT AND BLINDING AND EMPTY. I was also going to draw a vehicle, but couldn't decide what it should be. Arwing, Vic Viper or... err... whatever the racers from the Wipe-out games were called, I forget now and am way too tired to check. Wait, WHAT!? That picture is four years old?! D8
So, funny story; I was actually thinking about this character yesterday (and more today, obviously). Sort of as an NPC in a video game idea of mine I've always dreamed of... which can best be described as Lylat Wars, as an open world multiplayer sandbox where you customise your own character and story as you progress from your humble origins as a washout from the Cornerian Academy, involving FPS, ship-to-ship combat, tanks, maybe even some mechs, tons of unlockables, (i.e. costumes, races, ships etc.) and some base building mechanics that mean every player can design their own little arena in and around their base, station and/or carrier to keep from the usual boring monotony of replaying the exact same level over and over...
I sorta spent the whole day at work (and today at work) planning a whole thing out for how the intro tutorial story would introduce players to all the mechanics, with plenty of humour thrown in... and then I went onto youtube for no particular reason after work, and... and... OMG!
I'd almost forgotten about it, and half expected the project was abandoned. It's like my subconscious knew...
... and then, naturally, I remembered Starfox Zero!
Why was there next to no hype for this?! OMFG!!!! SOMEBODY GET OFF YOUR ARSE AND DO YOUR DAMN JOB! D8<
My first impressions of the game? Oh... I dunno...

Only tried out the training modes and the first level so far, because it took a little while to download, then peeps were watching the TV... for HOURS... and I've got work in the morning. *sigh* All f*ing day too. =\
The best moment so far was when Falco said "I guess you're good for something." right before the first boss showed up. XD

The motion controls are interesting, and I can see how people are saying they are a little jinky, but I think I like them! Hehe, such nostalgia... remember? Remember how you used to jerk the WHOLE controller around as if it would make a difference? Hahaha! Suddenly, now it does! XD
Also, that Ghostbusters logo is hand-made. Was fun to draw! I couldn't think of what to put on his jacket, and then suddenly the youtube channel I was listening to played a metal cover of the Ghostbusters theme! Then magic happened, and on the video of the next song I alt-tabbed to a few tracks later, he was wearing a Ghostbusters t-shirt! Hahahaha! XD
*sigh* Now, though, my brain is kinda obsessed with that game idea of mine... I'm envisioning a fully interactive 3D menu, which has your avatar walking around your Great Fox/BSG/some-mech-in-space-anime styled carrier, sort of how I saw Vermintide doing? Or whatever the game was called... also, my brain keeps try to do some world-building. ALL THE GLOWING NEON BILBOARDS! Lol.
Also the whole potentially-evil biotech company that offers you, the fresh academy wash-out, a job...! Where, *SPOILERS!* they hire you as a test subject or their new death-defying cloning technology that transfers your memories and experiences (essentially your soul) along a sub-space zip line to a brand new shiny clone body! Incorporated INTO the tutorial's storyline, where the option to sign-up for different companies becomes available (hence, new faction-specific missions/story content and unique unlockables, like cybernetic costume components from a cyber-tech company) once everyone finds out you didn't die... especially your academy rival, who is the reason you both got kicked out in the first place... and may have been the one to shoot you down on your "first" mission. Heh heh.
