The Astraste were hand chosen by the god Drahmesu to keep the peace between gods and mortals alike, and for generations, the clan was revered by all for the tranquility they kept. However, when the new King is crowned, his envy and hatred of the Astraste only grew. If the God should favor any clan, it should be His. In this envy driven rage, he ordered the destruction of the Astraste clan. Every man, woman, and child carrying the Astraste name murdered in the name of the King. Except for One. In the massacre, a mongrel child was spared, having been confused for a slave alongside her father. Though the child grew with no real memories of her mother's clan, her father spurred a deep hatred for the King within her. For years, he goaded her, telling her that the throne should've belonged to her mother, and in turn, her. Having known no other truth, she gave in to her father's hate, and it became her own. When she reaches out to the God for guidance, he assures her that she will have his aid, and eventually the King's crown. And so, with the God on her side, along with those who saw the Astraste as their allies and friends, she overthrows the King and wipes out his clan as he did to the Astraste many years ago.
