Neko was my mom's and my cat of 16 years ;u; .

FenFen scratched her big heart out to make this traditional piece for me ;u; . I received it in person from her at FWA 2015 where we met for the first time in person :D ! This piece is amazing in person for reasons including the metal backing catching the ambient light, and the detail she put into Neko's eyes and face and fur is just awesome ;u; . I am so grateful for the work and love she put into this and the opportunity to meet her and receive it!

Thank you so, so much, FenFen! ♥

Edit 12/26/2015: forgot to show that I had the piece professionally framed and it now hangs proudly in my hallway ♥ !

Scratchboard is FUN. And a very underrated medium to work in. My grandma is the one taught me to sketch and she also taught me scratchboard - it's difficult to get right because you need to remember that you're putting in light not dark with every stroke of your scraper and it's an indelible medium so mistakes last forever (although if you have a light touch you can MAYBE get away with making corrections using india ink) This is one of my grandmas pieces.. https://www.dropbox.com/sc/lawpb8clw1av0sr/AAClVjYOWfEF...
