Okay, so I like Starcraft 1 and 2. And my favorite critters are the Zerg. And this critter is the outcome of a prolonged 'evolutionary war' between the Zerg and Arborean (rabat) races. The two stealing genetics from either side, and improving themselves, has wound up with them more or less fused and at a draw - turned into a new, hybrid race, the Zagyt. This particular entity is specifically a hybrid of rabat and zergling, called a zagytten. It's skeletal system is actually plant based, with mammalian build and pelt, and a semi-internalized exoskeleton that increases their physical resistance to attacks. This is what happens when my mind wanders. ^^
