Character Sheet for Drusilla Leorine
Drus. Lupe refers to her as 'Big Eye'.
Drusilla is about thirteen, though she looks a bit older than that. Cyclops age slightly faster than humans due to their harsh upbringing and warlike nature.
Powers and Abilities:
Giantkin Blood: Drusilla is STRONG. Easily able to overpower even Natasha and Arja, in terms of sheer physical power she's easily the best out of the team. While she's not able to use magic she hardly needs to when she can rip a lamppost out of the ground and beat someone around the head with it.
Age-bracelet: Shortly after they started dating Nelen gave her a bracelet that jumps her age up by about ten years (making her 23) and hides her single eye with a glamour that makes it appear to be two human eyes instead. He mostly did this because they'd be able to go out as a couple in public without him getting arrested, but he finds that she makes a rather attractive adult too. In her adult form she's huge, almost seven feet tall, and pretty muscular too.
Immune to the Mundane Blade: ... in a sense. Drusilla doesn't actually use magic and her superhuman strength comes from a more 'natural' source, her giantkin nature. The cyclopti are close enough to mundane humanity that, unless they actually learn how to access and use magic (which very few do) they may as well be mundanes as far as Franklin's sword or any other weapons made of void iron are concerned. She can still be killed by it, as sure as she can be killed by a well placed blow from a blade made of steel or iron, but she has no magic for it to steal so that effect of the sword won't work. In short: Out of everyone in Arja's group of allies Drusilla is the only one who can fight Franklin Fullmoon head on.
Tomboyish, easily as much as Arja, and quite fond of competitions involving strength and physical skill.
She really enjoys hunting as well, and will sometimes take Lupe out as her 'hunting dog'.
While she grew up in a very rural low-tech area she's taken to technology much better than Natasha and enjoys video games with Simoni and the others.
- Hunting (though she uses a spear because guns are for wusses)
- Drinking (don't point out she's too young, she'll hurt you)
- Slavers (her species was once enslaved by the Titans, and then the gods of Olympus)
- Books and reading (she finds it boring, she'll leave that to Nelen)
A greek cyclops girl who Arja and company met on the Isle of Sicily. She helped them fight off one of Franklin's assassins, Edwood Vargas the Metalgician, and afterwards joined them to see the world outside of her small island.
Drusilla is the daughter of the tribe's cheftainess, her tribe made up entirely of female cyclops. She got lucky when she met Arja and the others. Going to talk to them kept her from drinking any of the drugged beer that Edwood had left in his trap, causing her to be immune to his musical mind control spell. She was enraged to see her kinfolk being controlled by the sorcerer, the cyclops having been former slaves of the Titans in prehistory, and then slaves to the Gods of Olympus.
Drus doesn't really have any magic to speak of, but she's ludicrously strong, moreso than Arja or Natasha. Despite this she's quite friendly, though her giantkin heritage makes her quick to anger.
After 'What the Dreck?' (Side Story 2) Nelen and Drusilla are in a relationship of sorts. Nelen has never had much success in relationships. Being a magical mercenary (which he was before he joined up with Arja and Simoni) doesn't leave much time for romance. The few relationships he did have ended when the other person saw just how much scar tissue he had, and he's not insane enough to try to hook up with another merc.
Also, after The Siege of Castle Fullmoon (Part 1.26) Drusilla is now pregnant with Nelen's child. This has endeared him to Drusilla's mother, who now considers him part of the clan and 'the father of her grandchild', but has caused no small amount of stress for the blood mage. Drusilla herself seems excited at the prospect of motherhood, even if the kid she gives birth to will be the kind that can 'un-ground' himself or herself by punching through one of their bedroom walls.
Her mother: The cheftainess of her tribe, she remained on Sicily when Drusilla left with Arja and her group.
Nelen Fullmoon: Her boyfriend of sorts, though he doesn't complain if she wants to fool around with Arja and the others. Partially because he considers himself a liberal sort and partially because he knows if he tries to stop her Drusilla will just put him in a headlock until he cries 'uncle'. He is also the father of her future child.
The world in this story is a sort of alternate earth with a contemporary fantasy mix to it. Supernatural beings and magic exist, but mainstream humanity doesn't know about them.
I take a lot of cues from games such as The Secret World and the World of Darkness series as well as the writings of authors like Kim Harrison and Simon R. Green.
She's thirteen, but in terms of build, development, and height she looks closer to seventeen or eighteen. Cyclopti age at about one and a half times the normal human rate (a necessary survival trait due to their harsh lifestyles).
She's got long black hair down to her waist, is somewhat heavy (though there's serious muscle under it), and... well, has one huge eye rather than two small ones.
She's a tomboy and prefers loose cheap clothing that's easy to move in and repair/replace if it gets damaged.
She also likes wearing leather, and has several leather outfits... though a few got chewed up by Lupe.
She has a bracelet given to her by Nelen. It's a series of wooden beads with two charms, one a piece of purple quartz carved into an hourglass symbol and the other a piece of clear crystal carved into a pair of closed eyes. When she wears it her body instantly ages ten years and she appears to be human until she removes it again. While the human aspect is an illusion she really does become older (and much stronger) while she has it on.
Also, she has a warclub she brought with her from Sicily. A massive weapon topped with the skull of some huge horned animal. She hasn't used it yet, if only because there's no way in hell she'd be able to take it with her when they leave India (seriously, explain THAT to customs), though she's proficient with many different weapons and is a deadly fighter even if she's unarmed so it doesn't really matter yet.
