FTR Stripped - Rooted Dryad

FTR - 144
set default image size: small | medium | wide
I've been meaning to do short FTR strips for a long time but just now got around to it. They'll mostly focus on the world lore.

ROOTED DRYADS
Not all trees are grown from seeds! The most noble of dryads are known to sacrifice themselves for a dying forest, by planting their feet in the soil. Over time, they are rooted into place. Bark grows over their bodies, their limbs become branches, and they tower in size until their full metamorphosis into a tree. The process can take hundreds of years. Once a tree, the dryad can still think and feel, but cannot speak. As long as they still possess speech, they won't tolerate hoodlums fouling up their forests!

He was just watering her, geeze.  Lighten up, Miss Tree!  Bears get to do it whenever they want... wolves too!  One little piddle isn't going to hurt.  Cute scene though.  Would be funny if she gave up her sacrifice of movement just to shift a few meters away from his puddle.

Or gave up her sacrifice of movement to give him a good swat on the ass with her branches. "No! Bad satyr!"

she could claim a sudden wind blew a branch down to make her do it.

If she could accelerate the growth of nearby plants, perhaps some strategically-placed poison ivy might do the trick! ;)  hehe.

If she has any limniad (plant nymph) friends around, I'm sure they could work something out. ;D
