River Country.. The first water park that used to run in Walt Disney World Resort. Opened on June 20, 1976. It was a beloved park, and everyone loved going there. Little did they know that there was a sea monster, or some might say she looked like a mermaid, who was the heart of river country. No one ever saw her, but she saw them. Every day she'd watch them happily as they enjoyed her water rides, and splash around laughing. She helped keep the park clean and tidy, and always helped keep kids safe. She sang music every day to help entertain children and their parents while they relaxe or play. She was so happy, and even if she wasent a real being, and would never be able to play with the children and show them the wonders of being a sea creature, she was just happy to see people come and enjoy her water playground. Untill it all changed...
The park had shut its gates on november 2nd, 2001. And she was so confused why. Why did they shut out the people and children she loved to see. Why did they close her down? She had no idea and hoped that they were doing matenince repairs, or adding a new attraction. So she waited four years hoping to catch a glimpse of the people who came to play. But her heart was shattered when she heard that the park was officially closed forever on Janurary 20th, 2005. She was so struckt and confused. She tried everything to find out why they shut her down. She tried everything she could to get them to open her water world back. But soon the water stopped. And she could do nothing but wallow in the water that turned murk and old from rain and her mistreatment. Poor River Country. If she knew why she was shut down... then maybe she could've died happily, but now she sits abandoned and slowly decaying. Everynight she gets up on her rocks and sings out, and turns on her lights, in hopes it'll get her people back. But to her bitter dismay, no one came except a few select people who recorded her lost, and showed the world what had happened to her. Why couldnt they just tear her down instead of letting her rot away? Why was she shut down? Why would no one come and play in the water that she had preserved for so long?.... Why did they abandon her.... Why did they leave her..... Why.....
