Ok haven't been drawing as much but starting to get back into the swing of things now. So with that of course the Liger comes up with a new Alien species. ^^ As always Codex entry and then info on the individual in the pic.

The Ayelen are a Flora based species from the planet Ayelantra. Life on their world never developed what most of would think of as proper animal life having evolved mobile creatures from plant life. The Ayelen however are not entirely plant based despite that being their origin. Over the course of time they have come to fully integrate themselves with technology. While imperceptible from the outside every Ayelen cell has a nanite component to it and their bone structure is a metallic composite. Beyond this they have a number of implants integrally linked within their biology which aide in a number of biological functions and grant abilities they would not have biologically. The most notable ability to manifest from this is known as Hard Light. The ability of them through their implants and nanites to produce a plasma type energy and manipulate in in many ways. It can be fired as a ranged weapon, used as a shield, or focused into a Light Sword. Those with greater skill and produced more complex things with this ability allowing for short burst of powered flight and the ability to slow their descent when falling. It should be noted that not all Ayelens are experts at this and that exerting too much power in this fashion can drain the individual or at times literally fry their nervous system. Societally the Ayelen are largely peaceful with a respect for others and value equality between all. Being a Monogendered species they are at times perplexed as to why the sexes in a species would be treated as they are. Given their nature and their ancient history many of their holidays revolve around the change of the seasons having Spring Renewal Celebrations and Fall Harvest Traditions. They also have one winter holiday of note taking place during the coldest months of the year known as the Winter Sun Festival. This last holiday focuses more on bringing the community together to strengthen one another during the cold dark winter months. Common practices for the Holiday include bonfire side celebrations, gift giving, familial gatherings, and warm foods. On the Galactic stage the Ayelen are one of the few surviving races from before the Quez War of Conquest. Post war they have served to provide patrols and to explore having made contact with nearly a dozen new races since. Current preliminary procedures are underway to determine wither or not humanity is a viable Contact candidate of if further time for development is required.

Cobyn Serel wasn't exactly what one would expect on a deep space exploration vessel. Or then again perhaps there one like him on every ship. Cobyn was a relatively shy type. Tended to be quite during meetings unless he had something of some importance to say. Generally always had his nose in a data pad at meal time. Could speak at least three native languages by the time they reached whatever their destination was. He was an Anthropologist with a degree in Biology as well and it was his job to wrap himself in whatever culture and analyze it. In this case he'd been studying what limited data preliminary scout vessels had done on a little planet out on the rim simply called Earth. He was going to go down with a team and start making a detailed assessment of the culture. As he walked down the hall he spotted the Captain and cleared his throat before speaking up.

"Um. Sir I've finished my read through of the existing materials. I have a few deployment sites I'd like to run by you if you have the time sir." Cobyn said rather awkwardly.

"Of course Analyst. It's what we're here for. Show me your sites." Captain Karthes told him as he slowed into step with the young expert.

"Well the sites I wanted to go over with you are the Urban ones. Jaques is handling Rural areas. I've selected a city on each continent. Washington, Brasilia, London, Moscow, Hong Kong, Canberra, and Kinshasa. All various Capitals for their nations and urban areas of high population densities." Cobyn said holding out his hand as the names and geographic locations were projected over his hand as he spoke.

"I thought the planet had seven continent. That's only Six cities." The Captain said a bit confused.

"Oh they call the last continent Antarctica. It's at the planet's southern pole and completely covered in glacier. Only human habitation detected there are several small research post." Cobyn explained bringing up probe images of the continent.

"Ah understood. Alright you have authorization. Just remember this is observation only for now. No contact of any kind. Remained cloaked while your down there." The Captain told him wanting to make the point clear just to be certain.

"Of course. The last thing we ant is to cause chaos down there. I'll go begin putting teams together now sir. Thank you sir. Have a nice day sir." Cobyn stammered before heading off down the hallway picking up some speed more than a little excited to get the ball rolling on things. The Captain smiled a bit. Cobyn certainly didn't lack for enthusiasm for his work.

Well hope you guys liked the pic and the lil story. ^^

Thanks. Figured brighter greens are used so often for this sort of thing that I'd go with a paler and darker greens. ^^
