Well I've been playing some Spyro games lately and thought I'd revisit an old Spyro fan character of mine. It's given me the idea to reshape things a bit from the first Spyro game and cross it with MLP so Zane and Bubble Beaker may in fact be meeting.

Mid afternoon saw the sun slowly falling from it's highest point in the sky of the Magic Crafter lands. Zane a young Magic Crafter dragon sat on a ledge enjoying the view from high up in a floating tower over the water. He could see seal on the shore and the mountains were to his back. It was nice to take a break from his magical studies to just relax for a bit. Zane considering taking a short flight as he sat here. His wings had gotten stronger and he was now able to do more than just glide, he could now fly. Though he wasn't yet the best at it and his wings tired from powered flight readily. Yet another way he wasn't as strong as other dragons. His flame wasn't as intense, his wings weren't as strong, his horns were a little short and then there was the crinkly garment around his waist. Zane sighed and looked down at the diaper for a moment. Out here there was no reason to hide it. The weather was warm and his mentor knew all about it and no one here would tease him for it. But still the others in town did occasionally. Just then Zane looked back to the Archway leading into the tower and saw his Mentor.

"Rrrelaxing I see. See anything interresting?" The older greener dragon with more developed calus scales around his jaw. It almost looked like a beard had said trilling his Rs as many Magic Crafters did.

"Just some seals down by the cove." Zane answered simply as his Mentor walked out onto the over hang.

"I must at admit I do like coming out here myself. The mind often needs a quite place to rrretreat to for rest or to focus on something." The Mentor siad as he sat down as well.

"Yeah. Just thinking about things. Friends, family. The lack of the former." Zane sighed looking back out over the water.

"I know. It is difficult for you. Many of the other students here have no interrrest in anything beyond their magic. I have a perrrposal for you though. If you'd be willing to listen at the moment." The Mentor said looking down at the small dragon. The old Mentor couldn't help but see some of himself in the boy.

"Of course Mentor. I'll listen" Zane said with a bit of cheer always one to make his Mentor happy and always willing to hear things out.

"Well I trust you are aware that the Dragon Kingdom had recently made contract with another Kingdom of Equestria. Correct?" The Mentor started wanting to make sure his pupil was aware of this.

"Yes I read the whole thing on it. Equestria is a Kingdom of Ponies. Normal ones, Unicorn, and Pegasus." Zane nodded rattling off some of the info he had read.

"Good. Well I've been contacted to Travel to Equestria to study their magic. I would like you to accompany me to Equestria. We'll be staying in their central city for a few days to learn what we can and then we'll be visiting other places around their Kingdom. It would be a long trip. We'd likely be away for a year or more. But it'd be a chance to learn about them and perhaps even make some friends. What do you say? Are you up for it?" The Mentor asked him watching Zane's disposition change from surprised to thoughtful and now excited.

"Of course! This is... This would be. Yes!" Was all Zane could manage to get out in his excitement before he hopped to his feet and threw his arms around his mentor. The old Dragon smiled and hugged his pupil back.

"Very well then. We'll be leaving the day after tomorrow so you have plenty of time to get your things around and contact your family. They already gave their OK. Just waiting to hear from you if you said yes or not." The Mentor said as he rose to his feat.

"Alright. Thank you. I'm gonna go call them right now! Thank you soo much!" Zane told him and with that scampered back through the arch to head back to his room to make the call.
