Flame was lying on his back, starting off into the bright blue sky as a sunny day was rolling on by. The few clouds in the sky gave it some life and a great background. The light breeze whisked gracefully along Flame's body as it soothed his soul. There have been a few Pidgeys and Sparrows flying across the calm and beautiful sky. The grass that Flame was lying on also was quite comfortable as Flame felt it with his hands and arms. Flame sat himself up and now realized he was in a forest, he wasn't shocked but he was very calm and collected for right now. His head turning left and right surveying his area. He took a couple of sniffs to smell the nature around, it was a pleasant aroma from all the flowers that produced an invigorating sensation. He stood up on both feet and began to walk aimless through dirt pathways and going over the occasional brush, shrubs, and a fallen tree. He soon heard crying, from a very small Poke'mon. Flame wondered what kind of Poke'mon could be making that sound as he continued to follow the faint cry as best he could. Moments of his searching the noise was becoming louder and louder as he started to move quicker to see what the problem was. Flame carefully stepped into the brush and between two tree trunks he finally saw the Poke'mon: it was a Ralts standing over a Kirlia that was on the ground, unconscious. Flame wanted to move closer to help but his body froze and he didn't understand why. Flame could only watch as he heart was being torn by such a sight and he couldn't help them.
After being frozen for a few moments he heard a few other steps coming from another direction from his right, Flame got into a crouching position with one knee touching the ground. He saw a little boy run up to the Poke'mon, and in his own way was trying to help the Ralts and Kirlia. Slowly moving forward and offering his hand to the Ralts showing no harm. The Ralts defensively growled to the boy, the boy didn't take the hint and slowly moved closer with his hand still in the same position to help the Ralts. The Ralts shouted and sent a psychic blast to push the boy to the ground. The boy collided with the dusty floor quite hard, but shortly got back up; wincing slightly from the pain and performed the same position again to the Ralts.
Flame could only watch as he really wasn't sure what was going on, he had the strangest feeling he could remember that boy. Flame felt two arms wrap around him tightly and quickly fell to the floor with Flame still in it's arms, hugging right behind him. Flame turned his head and noticed it was a Gardevoir.
"Who are you and you can take your hands off me." Flame spoke with anger in his voice not appreciating what the Gardevoir did.
"The boy's name, it's Paul." Spoke the Gardevoir gently still holding Flame in a tight embrace.
"That's nice, but who are you?" Flame still was angered as he spoke.
"That doesn't matter, but if you wanna know I can tell you who that Ralts is." The Gardevoir continued to speak as her head was rubbing up and down Flame's back slightly. Flame's anger subsided slightly then asked with a much nicer tone "Who?"
"It's you, Flame. This was a scene for when you were very young in your life." Answered the Gardevoir.
"What...?" Flame muttered to himself as he looked back to the scene. The boy was bleeding in various places now but he had Flame cradled in his arms while he was still crying. Flame didn't understand what happened and why the boy left in a hurry, leaving the Kirlia there. A few moments later a dark figure appeared over the Kirlia and a bright red flash appeared. The dark figure looked human but shortly after the figure left and the Kirlia was missing. The figure had vanished from sight.
"What? What just happened?" Flame asked out loud.
"She was captured by a Poke' Ball." The Gardevoir released her embrace of Flame and Flame turned around to look at her.
"Then who are you?" Flame asked still needing his question answered.
"Look back to the scene Flame." The Gardevoir spoke as she pointed her finger at where Flame was looking before.
Flame turned once more to face the scene as the boy and his apparent father appeared. The boy was crying along with Flame's younger self. The father escorted his son away consoling him while the boy consoled the crying Ralts.
"Who was that Kirlia...?" Flame asked the Gardevoir.
"Flame...It was your sister Alexia." The Gardevoir spoke as she quickly embraced Flame, crying. Flame was taken by surprise by this but he placed his hands on her back, moving them up and down her back trying to comfort her as best he could.
"Is that how I lost her?" Flame asked softly as tears began to fill his eyes.
"Yes," the Gardevoir spoke whimpering. "That was me..."
"What?!" Flame thrown into complete shock and awoke form his dream. He quickly arose to sit up in the hospital-like bed breathing heavily and rapidly. Serene was asleep in a chair next to Flame's bed while half her upper body fell asleep on the bed as well. She awoke slowly and looked at Flame and appeared he'd seen a ghost. Flame was pale, and quite sweaty along his forehead. Serene quickly responded by wrapping her arms around his head and gently moved his head into her chest trying to relax him. Flame's breathing was slowing down and was slowly calming down thanks to Serene's comforting embrace. After a minute of this he was able to close his eyes and relax knowing that it was a dream he was a part of. Flame wrapped his arms around his wife's waist area and cried into her chest. Serene didn't understand why he suddenly began tearing like he did, but she continued to comfort him as best he could. Flame was muttering words to himself, Serene tried hard to understand and only heard "sister", and "taken". After Flame finished his crying he moved slightly away to look at Serene, still teary-eyed and asked if he could go back home to their house. Serene nodded and helped him out of bed, Flame was still in bad shape but Serene helped Flame out of the room.
"We need to find Elegon to let him know before you leave." Serene spoke gently. Flame didn't say anything as he was trying as hard as he could to stay up. A few minutes they found him watching the two Gardevoirs in their golden water-filled tubes. Serene told him that Flame wanted to go back and he had a pretty bad nightmare from what she gathered. Elegon nodded and thanked Serene for letting him know, and told Flame to get well. After that Serene teleported herself and Flame into their bedroom. She helped Flame get into bed and wrapped him under the covers while she got in on the other side and slowly and gently worked her way next to Flame. She could see Flame's eyes in the dim moonlight and saw that he was still shedding a tear here and there. All she did was rub her right hand across his cheek for a while and eventually, Flame fell back asleep once more.
Flame had descended back to the forest he once was again, and he softly landed on the ground. The same warm breeze, the same aroma, and a rustling in the bush came to his left. Flame instinctively got into his battle stance and faced the direction where the sound was coming from. Rustling in the bushes were visible and quickly after a Gardevoir appeared crouching down. She stood upright slowly and faced Flame, gave a smile while her head was cocked sideways slightly. Flame retracted his blades back into his arms. Flame realized who it was: it was the same Gardevoir in his dream from earlier.
"Welcome back Flame." Spoke Alexia.
"Thanks, I guess." Replied Flame nonchalantly.
"Flame, you need to follow me." Alexia walked close to Flame to reach for his hand. Flame gave her his hand and he was engulfed in a bright white flash. A moment later they found themselves outside a cabin. Alexia was still leading Flame into the cabin and she fazed through it effortlessly. Flame was shocked to say the least as he was being forced to go through as well. He was struggling to get out of her iron-hand grip but to no avail. Needless to say, Flame went through it just fine but he definitely didn't like the feeling of it.
"What was that?" Demanded Flame.
"We just are walking around. No one can see or hear us anyways." Replied Alexia.
"Then, where are we?" Asked Flame as he was glancing around the cabin.
"We are revisiting another part of your past, Flame." She answered as she led him into another room into the cabin. They found themselves in a bedroom and saw a human in one bed, then in the other was a Kirlia; the Kirlia was Flame. Alexia explained to Flame how he arrived there and have been a family companion for years now. She mentioned that he was always happy that they took him in and gave him a place he could call home. It was on one fateful day that he ran away.
"Flame, you were always dependable and they liked that a lot. But you snapped when they brought in another Kirlia into the household." Alexia continued her explanation.
"Wait a minute, how do you know this yet I can't remember it?" Flame asked not believing anything he was being told.
"It's your Life Aura, Flame. It has many magical properties ranging from combat to unlocking the answers into the soul of it's user. For example right now you are learning of your past that you desperately tried to lock away forever." Alexia spoke with sadness now.
"That's great and all," spoke and irritated Flame. "but how do YOU know it?"
"The Life Aura connects us Flame, one by one, everyone will be reunited. By this I mean you, myself, Mom, and Dad..." Alexia said as she embraced Flame once more, crying into his chest.
"Mom, and Dad...?" Flame muttered to himself in awe as he didn't believe her but still wanted to do so.
Meanwhile, early in the morning at the Palace, a very crucial development was taking place in the lab. What was unfolding was the two Gardevoirs showing sings they were awakening from their slumber. Their bodies were moving slightly, and stirring in their sleep. Now, the two Gardevoirs were being monitored on a visual display near a computer: which showed a layout of their entire body and also displayed their vitals. Scientists could monitor heart rate blood pressure, brain activity, and even anomalies ranging down to the cellular level. A lone Gardevoir scientist was in the lab examining the subjects thoroughly and noticed their heart rate rising out of a coma-like level. He quickly made note of it and went hastily out of the lab to find an Elder.
Serene was having her own dream after she fell asleep from comforting Flame for a good while. Her dream's setting was placed in a thriving city, filled with a good amount of humans and Poke'mon alike in good harmony. Serene was walking through the hustle and bustle of the city, passing along humans and tamed Poke'mon. The hospitality was great, Serene was greeted warmly like everyone knew who she was. About a half and hour passed before the sudden alarms kicked on throughout the entire city; the alarms that resonated signaled a tsunami warning. Everyone threw themselves into a full-fledged panic, pushing and shoving anyone out of their way in the desperate attempt to save their life. Serene was panicking herself, but she knew she could stop the flood, or at the very worst divert it somewhere else. Serene made haste through the crowds running away, a few townspeople tried to drag Serene the other way but she escaped their grasp and continued towards the ocean. Within ten minutes after the alarms sounded the cries of humans and Poke'mon alike dropped down to an occasional group or a single being running for higher ground. Another five minutes passed until Serene could see the ocean. She was running and running, until she really saw what the waves were doing then her run came to a slow walk until she stopped; terrified of what she was seeing. The waves themselves were fifty feet high, give or take a couple of feet. They were slamming against the lower mountainsides. Water was slowly making its way onto the mainland, Serene regained her focus as she knew this was going to be a very tough challenge for herself. She ran to the very edge of the city's sidewalk before it dropped down twenty feet where the water was already filling the beach. A white aura gathered around her as she was gathering her telekinetic energy to stop the threatening tides. She shoved both her hands out to the waves, setting up a pinkish color barrier that covered almost all of the beach. Just after a minute of having such a large barrier up fatigue already was setting itself in Serene. At this point the waves were crashing into the barrier, every hit was pushing Serene back where she stood. She knew she couldn't hold her own much longer, her arms and legs were beginning to tremble. As she was ready to give up from exhaustion she saw two white, and green figures fly over her and were floating above the intense tsunami. They both gathered their own energy and moved their hands towards the water. The waves were beginning to calm down, but still had resilience. Serene was feeling the pressure lift away as the waves were calming down, she was able to finally look up without losing her concentration as was astonished as the sight. She saw two Gardevoirs wearing the old Protector robe Serene used to wear. She even saw the side view of each Protector's face. One she recognized as her mother, the other was her father. Moments passed as the waves eventually returned to their normal state, still a bit higher than average but not any danger to the land. Serene had tears in her eyes as she laid eyes on her parents in her dream, where on a normal night she couldn't dream of such a thing even if she wanted to do so. She released her psychic barrier and felt her energy slowly returning to her. Her parents were happy once they knew their job was done, the turned to their daughter: which they didn't know that it was her since their daughter was a Kirlia when tragedy struck. Serene was happy they were looking at her, she waved at the same time as her parents did. Right after that, something struck Serene in her inner heart, a feeling she only knew when a major disaster was about to happen. Her parents felt the same disturbance, looking in all directions trying to pinpoint where something was coming from. Little did they know it something was surfacing from beneath the two Protectors. A huge Poke'mon shot out of the water with great speed, it was a beast of a Poke'mon. Time had slowed down for Serene as she saw the monster with its mouth open ready for a meal at her parents. The two floating Gardevoirs didn't know what was happening as they looked down in slow motion from Serene's point of view. Her mother, made a desperate attempt to save her husband, by focusing as much energy as she could with the time allotted she shoved him far enough to escape the clutches of the Poke'mon. The Poke'mon was a Kyogre, nothing but rage in it's approach, the Poke'mon had it's maw where the Gardevoir was and instantaneously closed its mouth, eating up Serene's mother in an instant and falling back into the ocean. Time reverted itself back to normal speed as one final splash was made in the water where the Kyogre landed and swam away with haste. Serene heard her father yell out in agony at the lost of his beloved mate, he floated back to the beach, still crying at his great loss. Landing in front of the water where the waves stopped and retracted itself back into the ocean. He fell to his knees and then hunched over onto his hands, crying with hatred and anger. He slammed his fist into the sand multiple times, splattering dirt around him. He stopped eventually as he looked into the ocean, wondering why this was happening to him. Serene had watched the scene unfold before her eyes not knowing what exactly happened, she wanted to come to her father's side and comfort him but an invisible force was holding Serene back. He finally stood up and turned his attention to the city; his facial features gave it away that he became a new Gardevoir at that point. He undid his robe and tossed it into the ocean as he was now dressed in the normal Gardevoir gown. The robe floated along the ocean, water not pulling it down into the depths. He floated into the sky and then shoot off like a bullet creating a pink stream of energy flowing right behind him.
"Ah!" Serene awoke from her dream after that point in time, sweat was appearing on her forehead. She quickly wiped it off with her forearm, she noticed that Flame was still in his slumber, but also not in the best shape in his dream either. He was stirring himself back and fourth as something he didn't want to see was playing out inside his mind.
"Why don't I remember me doing that to the family?" Demanded Flame asking his sister. She told him how everything went and led up to the event of him going berserk on those who loved him.
"It's cause you did something that you never wanted to do again. So you blocked it out completely, it also doesn't help that you had one more gap in your memory." Alexia spoke as she shrugged her shoulders when she was done.
"What happened after this? Wasn't I done hurting those who loved me?" Flame pleading for an answer as rage built into himself after learning of his past he tried to forget for so long.
"As a matter of fact this was the last time you caused pain to a loved one," Alexia mentioned while Flame blew a sigh of relief, "then after that incident you were on your own for many years. But for now you need to wake up in the real world." Flame's dream became blurred as the last image in his surrounding changed morphing around him eventually changing into a complete black color and then Flame slowly opened his eyes to find himself starring at the ceiling in his bedroom.
"Man...I need to get a peaceful night of sleep soon." Flame thought to himself. He turned his head where his mate should have been sleeping at and saw that she was already awake looking at him with a gentle smile upon her face. Serene leaned in to kiss Flame, which he did the same, they kissed each other gently and were both happy to see each other that morning; for both of them having dreams about something they never knew even happened.
Meanwhile at the lab where a new turn of events were about to occur. Elegon was first summoned to over watch the Gardevoirs for the night while the other scientists called Aero and Blizz to see them in the early morning hour. Elegon was watching them intently, hardly moving a muscle while he had his arms crossed. By his side were two Gallade standing guard to protect Elegon in case of a catastrophe were to happen. The Gallades were Zen, and another new member of the Guard: Clash was his name. The Guards were on edge, and getting quite anxious as they could even see that the Gardevoirs were going to awake soon. Aero, and Blizz made their way into the lab following closely behind Kage who was instructed by Elegon to await for them and escort them to the lab area. They were donning their wedding dresses once more for today as something special was about to happen. Both of their dresses filled to the brim with sparkling diamonds, bright white fabric, layers of fluffy petticoats underneath the gowns, which always made those who got a glimpse of it to stare at the craftsmanship of the dresses and have a strong desire to want something like that made for themselves.
"Good morning Elegon." Aero said with a very friendly tone.
"Good morning too, my friend." Elegon responded while keeping his gaze on the golden fluid which housed the Gardevoirs.
"Sir!" One of the lab technician spoke loudly.
"What is it?" Demanded Elegon while he faced the scientist.
"They are going to awake now!" Replied the Gardevoir with excitement.
Not a word was said after that as the room's attention was given to the Gardevoirs. Zen and Clash drew out their arm-blades and readied themselves in a battle stance, anticipating anything can happen at this point. Tense moments were passing as everyone was becoming on edge waiting for them to awake. Not another moment passed when Paldena opened her eyes and was slowly taking in information about her surroundings. She soon realized that she was in suspended animation and somehow breathing in a liquid, this quickly threw her into a panic as she tried to escape out of it.
"Drain the fluid!" Aero shouted a command to the scientist. With a few button presses, a couple of beeping noises, the tube immediately started to drain through a preset drainage system. Paldena soon after was back on her own to feet when she was finally free from the liquid. She was struggling greatly holding her own balance as she had not stood on her own for quite some time. She fell on the edge of the tube, still had a hint of panic left in her as she could only see other Gardevoirs and Gallades staring at her. Another scientist pressed a couple of commands into the computer and a hissing sound from the tube was being made as the vacuum of air was escaping, shortly after the tube opened itself up and left a gap for the Gardevoir to leave. She was struggling to get herself up as Aero gave a gesture to Zen to help her up. Zen withdrew his blades and slowly approached Paldena, not wanting to scare her even more.
"Don't worry, I am going to help you get back on your feet." Zen told Paldena as gently as he could. She was still frightened, not because she was awake, but more or less back in her own body. She did a full-screen exam of herself while she was still sitting on the tube. She could feel all her senses come back to life as she was touching her face, arms, legs, and torso to make sure everything was in order. Zen was right outside the tube with his right hand extended out offering his help to her. She gave a slight nod and reached out and grabbed his hand. Zen gently pulled her upright and she took a step or two before she fell again, this time into Zen's arms as he quickly caught her. Zen pulled her further back from the tube and helped her back up once more. This time she was using Zen as a crutch, which he was more than glad to help her out. At this point "Kakado" had awoke himself as he was surveying his area. Noticing all the Gardevoirs, Gallades, and then his mate being helped by another Gallade. He also figured out that he was breathing in a liquid and not drowning which threw him into a panic as he was banging on the glass tube to break out of it. The scientists pressed some keys, the tube began to make the sound of water falling into a separate pipeline. Moments passed when the draining was complete and "Kakado" was regaining his composure. He surprisingly didn't struggle with his balance as much as Paldena. He also was stumped on how he was able to regain his true form back as a shiny Gardevoir. He was examining his blue colored arms and was more than happy to be alive once more. A hissing noise was made again as the tube slide open to let the Gardevoir walk out, which he did right when the hissing stopped. Paldena was glad to finally lay eyes on her mate after many years.
"Welcome to our city!" Blizz spoke with great enthusiasm.
"Much obliged." The shiny Gardevoir spoke.
"May I ask what your names are?" Aero said gently.
"My name is Leo. My loving wife over there is Paldena." Leo answered calmly as his voice was restoring back to its original tone.
"Are you two hungry? We have plenty of food to accommodate you two!" Aero spoke eager to help the two Gardevoirs out.
"That sounds nice," Leo spoke as his voice refined itself into a very smooth and gentle sound. "I have to agree as well." Paldena added on while she still leaning against Zen's shoulder and arm.
"Then it's settled. We will have food made at once." Elegon spoke as he left the room.
"Excuse me, Leo. But I think you need to help your mate, I'm pretty sure you miss each other." Zen spoke out with a smile and trying not to sound rude.
"That...Would be very nice..." Leo spoke, trying to hold back his excitement. He took a few steps till he stood next to his mate, helping her to hold onto him. He then quickly took her by surprise by swiftly picking her up off the ground and holding her in his arms. Both of them blushing, and smiling as Paldena placed her head on Leo's shoulder. Aero and Blizz lead the reunited couple out of the lab while Zen, Kage, and Clash followed behind the couple. The scientists in the room were cleaning up any liquid that didn't land in the drains, while making any last minute notes as well for future references.
"How was your sleep dear?" Serene asked Flame as she was turning to get out of the bed while placing her feet on the floor.
"It could have gone a lot nicer." Flame grumbled as he also got himself out of the bed. Serene made the sheets using telekinesis after Flame got out. Flame was stretching and asked "How was your slumber?". Serene paused for a couple of moments then spoke, "It wasn't great, I learned of something that I never was a part of. Have you had anything like this happen?".
"Yes I have," Flame sighed after he said that "it's all that has been happening in my dreams lately. From what Zeke mentioned to me he said that we both have Life Aura and it will unlock our hidden past and only make us stronger in the end." Flame said with a slightly better outlook on the rest of the day. They began their day by getting ready for another peaceful day. An hour and a half had passed as they were ready and already had a nice breakfast that Serene worked on: bacon, eggs, with some fried potatoes was all they needed to be set for the morning. They left their home and were holding hands as they took a nice stroll through town, having a quick chat to anyone they met along the way. Flame and Serene were extremely glad to not have guards watching over them or to tend to any urgent needs from the Elders. They continued their walk and Serene made a suggestion that she really wanted to relieve some stress by going into the shopping district of the town. Flame eagerly agreed and they made a turn at the closest intersection towards the town square.
A couple of hours have passed as Flame and Serene had finished their shopping, which they only bought a couple of drinks. They really just wanted to walk around aimlessly and enjoy each others company. While at the Palace Aero, Blizz, Elegon, Leo, Paldena, Zeke, and Kayla were sitting in a huge dining area meant for at least thirty guests to sit and eat comfortably.
But before this happened Zen was ordered by Aero to request the Protectors to join them for a nice dinner. Zen was running throughout the town in search of Flame and Serene, but his first stop was going to be their home. Flame and Serene were now heading home to rest for the rest of the day. Dusk had already fallen upon the city and made it always a treat for the eyes to watch the sun set itself over the horizon. About ten minutes have passed and Zen was starting to get a little tired of running non-stop; Flame and Serene were entering their home, and of course Flame had swept her off her own feet once more before entering their home. Flame had closed the door behind him using a weak telekinetic push. Zen's eyes had landed on the home, with no lights on to his worry. He still ran to the house and walked up the few steps they had before the door could be in arms reach. He gave a couple of gentle knocks but loud enough to be heard from the inside. While the sound resonated after Zen had knocked Flame had barely playfully, but gently slammed Serene onto the soft bed; Serene was giggling as she liked to play rough every so often. But the sounds of knocking had resonated into their ears and the wondered who needed them now. Flame took the honors of checking while Serene waiting for him to get back in their bed. Serene had given a seductive smile to Flame before he left. Flame opened the door and to his surprise he saw Zen there, catching his breath from all the running he did.
"Flame," Zen spoke after taking a couple of more breaths of air as he was regaining his normal breathing rate, "the Elders wanted you to join them right away for a nice dinner." Zen had finished his sentence.
"Sure, I don't see why we shouldn't go. Let me get Serene, but come on in and take a quick rest," Flame gestured Zen to enter his home. Zen gave a bow to Flame before entering "Also. You could have just teleported here instead of running." Flame said while laughing a little. Zen had a look of shock as he didn't think of doing such a thing, he then placed his right palm onto his face then shaking his head from side to side. After a few moments of this he was able to laugh at himself. Flame went back to his bedroom and asked Serene if she wanted to go have a nice dinner with the Elders, she quickly gave a yes to Flame's question and he picked her up off the bed. He held her mid-back in one arm while his other held her behind her legs. Serene giggled slightly as she enjoyed her knight in shining armor to pick her up anytime he wanted to. Flame and Serene had rejoined Zen in the living room as he was relaxing on their couch.
"Ready to go Zen?" Serene asked while smiling.
"Yes, Protector." Zen stood up quickly and turned his attention to Serene, giving her a bow of respect.
"I also think this time we should just teleport into the Palace this time." Flame said while a smirk was on his face. Zen let out a noise that sounded like a suppressed laugh. Serene glowed with a blue aura, then three flashes of light came to life and the Protectors, and Zen were gone from the house. A moment later they arrived in the main hall of the Palace. Zen then asked them to follow him and they will be in the dinning area of the Palace. A few minutes passed as they came to a pair of ornate doors that were next to each other, each of them bearing a window to which they could see on the other side.
Zen gave a bow to the Protectors and said "Here you two are, please enjoy your dinner. I must be off for now."
"Thank you Zen, please take it easy." Flame said kindly. Zen gave a smile and took his leave heading out of the palace.
"Are you ready my love?" Serene asked as she looked up at Flame. Flame couldn't respond right away as he became lost in the beauty of her gaze. Shortly after he snapped out of his trance and gave a smile with a slight nod. Serene used her telekinesis once more to open the doors gently as her eyes once again glowed a faint blue color. Attention was brought upon them as they walked into the massive room, everyone was smiling and Aero began to speak, "Welcome Flame and Serene! Please have a seat anywhere you like!" his words of kindness were always welcomed. They quickly took to their seats next to Zeke and Kayla, who were sitting across from each other. Flame had walked next to where Kayla was sitting to put Serene down and helped her to her seat. Flame moved to the other side of the table next to Zeke and took to his seat rather quickly.
"Glad that everyone is here." Blizz spoke to the other guests.
"Thank you for having us tonight." Serene said kindly with a smile on her face.
"Just noticed something here," Flame then spoke with somewhat of an awkward tone of voice.
"What is it?" Elegon replied with a raised eyebrow.
"Who are the two new Gardevoirs?" Flame then finished his question still in the same tone.
Aero gave a slight smirk then quickly introduced them, "Well Flame, this is Leo" Aero's hand with an open palm directed who Leo was. "And this is Paldena." motioning his other hand to the female Gardevoir.
"Leo, and Paldena..." Flame had muttered their names to himself. "Wait, Paldena?" Flame directing his attention towards her.
"Yes, Flame?" Paldena replied softly.
"You aren't the same Paldena as in Serene's necklace, are you?" Flame asked still confused about who she was.
"The one and only." Paldena spoke proudly. Flame's face went to shock as he realized what he asked he already should have known the answer. His facial expressions only rubbed salt into the open wound on his ego; his head was hung low in embarrassment. Everyone shared laughs that couldn't be quieted for moments, but then shortly everyone stopped.
"Man, my memory is slipping to a new level..." Flame spoke still with his head low and blushing red from the embarrassment that wasn't shaken off yet.
"It's quite okay Flame." Zeke said as he gave one of his infamous condolences, where his hand; covered by his gauntlet, met Flame's back as Flame shot up with a quick jolt of pain.
"Ouch!" Flame shouted quickly as he began to rub his back. "Could you be a little more gentle?" Flame complained as once again the other guests laughed.
"I do have a question for Leo and or Paldena." Kayla asked as she looked at the two Gardevoirs.
"What is your question?" Leo asked with an easygoing tone.
"How were you able to rejoin back into your own bodies?" Kayla asked as her face showed confusion.
"Well...Honestly I don't know 'how' per say, it just really happened." Leo answered with as shrug.
"Ah, that question would have to be answered by me." Aero spoke up. "This will take a little bit of time to explain but I should be able to answer it without too much confusion." Aero was mentioning as he began to rub his chin, in thought to where he should begin his tale. "Ah, you see. Our ancestors were quite the superstitious-type and thought there were always more than meets the eye. They also had discovered that humans, far, far beyond our time had once settled in the same region as we do now. But no conclusive evidence was ever made as to what caused them to leave the area so long ago, for as you see this settlement was founded upon dirt, little amount of grass, and some creeks placed in various locations. Our ancestors started out as about thirty as they were settlers looking to stake claim into land not controlled by anyone and suitable enough for them to live on hopefully without much difficulty. Which as you can tell they were quiet successful." Everyone gave a nod in understanding.
"So continuing on, they discovered a set of various tablets under a collapsed structure of rocks, dirt, and whatever else was hiding these said tablets. They were also hiding in a huge chest that had preserved them for all the years that they were trapped inside. Our ancestors had began to traverse the world for any Poke'mon that could read the forgotten human language. But after a decade of searching they found one, and only one for they had searched the entire globe. She quickly translated everything that she could from all the tablets, luckily enough they had one on hand that had their alphabet on it. What it came down to it is that it was an ancient Aztec language. Our ancestors were gratefully indebted to their translator's help, in return they had given her many lavish objects, ranging from material to gold, silver, copper, platinum, bronze, jewels and anything else they could find. But to their surprise she had denied the payment and simply was grateful to help out. And one more surprise had awaited our founding Poke'mon, the translator soon died once she had finished her last task. She was greatly honored at our ancestor's settlement, and theirs also. Once they had returned from their long journey the colony by that time was in the best years it had seen so far. Business was up, population was at a new time high without the birthrate being overwhelming economically, and all was in everyone's favor. Our scribes during the time began to translate the old language and made 100 percent progress on translating the all the tablets they could find. After that step was made, most of the settlers began to learn the language themselves and nearly everyone a year from that point could decipher it. Thus, began some of the more evil intentions of select others who wanted to find more than just the words and symbols. They soon began to scavenge the land for any other sites that could have potentially held more tablets. Of course they were successful in their findings and began to practice their own version of 'Black Arts' and had made many potions, spells, enchantments, and anything else in between. This had caused a civil war in the new settlement and many did perish throughout the months of fighting. Those who survived on both sides came to a truce, which took another month of violence after it was properly constructed. The good which came of this was peace in the land, and taking the better parts of the 'Dark Arts' to be used for good. In turn, this relates to Leo, and Paldena." As Aero gestured his hand to them as he continued to speak once more. "Which the reanimation process came to be, but it is better than what most of us would think it really is. What I mean by this is we don't need a host body to reanimate, we just need a high amount of energy from any source we can control: example high amounts of psychic energy proved quite nicely." Aero said as he chuckled.
"Oh man...That's quite the history lesson." Flame said as he gave a sigh of relief. Light giggling, and chuckling filled the room.
"I couldn't agree more Flame." Zeke said as he was glad to learn a little bit more of his descendants. After the story was finished and small chat had begun, many plates of food were presented through another door in the dinning area, one that directly leads into the kitchen. At least eight chefs, waiters, and waitresses carrying a dish of various sorts were placing them in various locations of the table. They all had lids on them which only could lead into the anticipation of what's on the inside. Once the dishes had all been set in sync, the chefs, waiters, and waitresses lifted the lids and had revealed a very delicious surprise. What had been cooked up was: turkey, fried chicken, varying salads, bowls of soup, and other various meats. Quickly after the unveiling of food, more servants to the Palace carried out pitches for drinks, all different colors and taste ranging from wine, water, and even soda. It definitely was a feast fit for the Elders and Protectors.
An hour had past after the immense dinning festivities had ended as everyone took their fair share in the food and all but joyous feelings were spread along the room. Everyone sharing stories, jokes, and even talks about recent events had lifted their spirits. Also the food had been quickly cleared off by the servants and placed a couple of desert plates which consisted of: cookies, brownies, ice cream, cake, and pie.
"Man, I have to eat like this more often." Flame said with a big grin along his face.
"I have to concur with you on that Flame." Zeke added his own reply as he say back as far as he could in the comfy chair he was sitting in.
"I must thank you for providing us with so much food." Paldena said as she gave a slight nod to the Elders.
"I thank you as well." Leo spoke gently as he had a smile along his face.
"You are all welcomed, we don't mind having a nice feast time and time again." Aero spoke with a tone that was comforting for the other guests and put any doubts they had about eating so much aside.
"Now that this is taken care of," Elegon began to speak as the other Poke'mon switched their attention to him. "I need to ask you two something, Leo and Paldena." Elegon directed his question to them looking them straight in the eye to make sure he has their attention.
"Ask away." Leo replied as he wasn't sure what to expect.
"How did you lose your body, but were still able to retain you spirit?"
"Oh..." Leo said with grief in his voice. Paldena placed her hand on his thigh and Leo gave a look to her; she just gave a nod.
"Well, this is an older tale if you all have time I will tell you." Leo said while glancing about the room. No one had said anything as their faces only gave the body language of they wanted to stay and listen.
"It all began some odd years ago, I can't say precisely. But I was training hard to become a Protector myself, except I was going through the non-traditional way. Which during that time only blood relatives were eligible to continue the line, but during my time there was no successors so it opened the pool for other Gardevoirs or Gallades. This was going on for many years for myself as to prove to myself that I could be something bigger than myself, I wanted to give back to the community I resided in. But fate had other plans for me." Leo had paused for a moment to let the suspense fill the room as he then began to speak once more. "I was training in a nearby forest which also had a waterfall, practicing various psychic techniques. When I used telekinesis to move a significantly large boulder out of the water I noticed something glistening in the sunlight. I was more of less curious about it so I walked to it. Had to get in the water to grasp it and it happened to be stuck, I couldn't tell by what. So I used all my strength until I was able to pry it free and when I did I fell back into the water and made a pretty big splash. I had to dry my eyes so I could see again. Little did I know the necklace somehow got around my neck without me even doing it. I was able to inspect it and noticed it was a very dark purple gem, I really can't describe it beyond this. Before I knew it everything from the bright and sunny day, green forests, blue water fall, and the sky vanished and turned to a black and purple surrounding. I was looking anywhere I could for an escape, being completely frantic about it. I began to run in any direction I felt I could, but to no avail. I was running myself tired, nothing changing around me. Soon after I stopped to take a breather, a shadowy spirit formed before my eyes. I was thrown a back by this as I cautiously took a few steps back. The figure then made itself completely visible: it was a Gardevoir. 'Who are you?' I asked the figure, it then replied 'You' in a spine tingling voice that could shake you to the core. It quickly lunched at me, impacting me before I could even move. I saw my entire body changing into a darker purple before I hit the ground from impact. I soon lost conciseness and after a long while I awoke, but I wasn't in my body. I couldn't feel a single thing, but I had one thing; my sight. It took me some time to figure it out. I was turned into a spirit in my own being but I was able to see everything that happened around my old body. The spirit had then welcomed me to my being. After our conversation I had learned everything he had done to me. He altered my ENTIRE past! I couldn't get over it for the longest time!" Leo shouted telling his story as tears were falling off his face.
Paldena gave her condolences to Leo by comforting him as best she could. He did continue with the story as he spoke once more "Even when I was a Ralts, I was born a shiny version, I knew this. But to everyone else my powers and appearance were changed to resemble the spirit that had taken over me. Everything I did always had a dark side to it, which is the reason I never did make it to Protector status. The Elder had denied my old body for this simple fact, which led to another dark side of my life. I had experience first hand on a dark, stormy night. I knew what Kakado was planning all along, but I was powerless to stop it. Some of you may know, but my body was used in the process to murder two Protectors in sheer spite for Kakado not gaining the status. Trust me, I was angered by that as well, but not enough to even consider the thought of such a vile act as the one he pulled. Thus my body was sealed away in the pendent Flame wore some time ago. But the Elders and Protectors didn't know this and thought they had only sealed away one being, Kakado to be more specific. I'm glad that spirit is gone for now." Leo had finished speaking as moments of silence passed as he had not said another word.
"What do you mean for now?" Flame asked as frustration began to fill inside him.
"I can't confirm the spirit died, but merely vanished to regain its strength to return another time." Leo answered with despair.
"I know I destroyed it, I saw it with my own eyes." Flame spoke with his fist clenched.
"You are correct, Flame. But you are missing one key point." Leo said.
"What is this 'key point' you are talking about?" Flame asked with sarcasm in his voice.
"It was in your dream...Not in reality." Leo answered remorsefully.
"What...? But wasn't he attached to me? In body, mind, and even soul?" Flame being confused about this ordeal.
"Maybe so. But then think of this. You are still alive, which means it can still be out there somewhere or in this room, or even inside you! We can't know for sure until the time is right." Leo said as he sighed after.
"Well, it looks like we still have other things to be on the look out for." Elegon spoke to break the tension between Flame and Leo.
"I will inform the other Elders, about everything that had happened tonight." Aero spoke as he stood up from his chair. He then glanced to his mate and they communicated quickly telepathically as he then teleported out of the room.
"Well this has been a fun night." Zeke said in a sour tone.
"I think we all should be on our separate ways for now." Blizz said with a hint of caution in her tone.
"Sounds fine to me." Leo said bluntly.
"Same for me." Flame added on. Each couple had left quickly out of the room, leaving Elegon and Blizz still sitting at the table.
"I can only fear for what is on the horizon for us all." Blizz spoke softly as she could only feel something terrible was coming upon the village.
"Hahahaha!" An evil laughter was being heard many, many miles away from the city where Flame and Serene were stationed to protect. There was a dark figure of a man, he was hiding behind a black trench coat that barely hung above the ground. His face being masked by a bandana, and a fedora for a hat. The only thing that was visible was his eye, glowing a bright red.
"They thought they could best me so easily?! Ha! I haven't even begun to show my true power yet." The voice spoke, only giving off the message for revenge and hatred.
"Sir!" A younger sounding gentlemen had called out to his apparent leader.
"Talk to me." The dark man spoke bluntly, being irritated already.
"Subject 1, Subject 2, Alpharion 1, and Alpharion 2 are ready for deployment. Subjects 3 and 4 are completing final preparations as we speak and should be ready in a few days." The young man spoke with confidence in front of his commanding officer.
"Good, that's quite good news to hear." The man replied as his gaze was fixated upon two Gardevoirs held in suspended animation by a light blue liquid in a test tube to comfortably house a Gardevoir, but not enough room for it to move freely.
"Keep a close watch on all subjects and report to me immediately. I have other business to attend to." The man gave his final command as he swayed his hand for him to leave the room.
"At once." The young man said, giving a respectable salute and quickly left the room. The man had taken a few steps closer to the tube as he put his hand on one of them. "They shall see what changes I have made since our last encounter. I will show them once and for all I am better." he thought to himself. He took his hand off the tube and walked to the door, punching in a combination and quickly hearing a "click" he knew it was locked from the outside. He walked to another section of the lab/ resting quarters, he began to take off his hat and quickly threw it across the room along with undoing his trench coat. The figure was a very strange hybrid: it consisted of an extremely well built man: not too bulky, nor too skinny, just the right amount of body muscle and stance. The other part of this was that closely resembling a Gardevoir, with a snow white skin, green hair that was slicked back, the red eyes, and having some psychic power as he demonstrated it by lifting a metallic suitcase closer to him. His clothing he wore was: a thin carbon-fiber fabric that tightly wrapped around his upper torso, looking like a vest having a black color to it with a design of cubes barely visible in the design. He also was wearing tight pants with a the same design as his vest including fabric and materials used to make it. He was also wearing tactical boots that held the lower part of the pant-legging inside it. The hybrid was sitting down and opened the suitcase with his hands, having a flip switch lever mechanism quickly revealed multiple samples of tubes filled with a strange green liquid and an injection gun to be used with said tubes. He quickly fixed together one does of it and pressed the needle into his arm, wincing from the sudden pain for a few intense moments. The green fluid had finally drained itself into the hybrid and he released the gun out of his arm, threw away the tube and put the gun back in the suitcase.
"Ahh, I feel good," the hybrid talked to himself with a slight grin on his face. "I will show those two Protectors what money can buy. Research, man-power, supplies, heck anything is possible with enough money. And I am living proof of it!" The hybrid had now let out a maniacal laughter once again.
This will conclude this chapter in the series. The adventures will continue in: Return of the Forgotten. This is already in planning and work on the first part will begin very shortly.
