"I know it hurts, dear, but the first one's always the worst."

Harold tried to assure the Collie, though he knew better; the worst part was the final connection, the excruciating physical and psychological shock of something new connecting to one's nervous system in an instant. He'd seen grown men screaming like newborn infants from the pain; it was a necessary evil, though, to ensure that the connections were live and functional. One after another, he slid in each plug, the shock from the prongs joining like the burning bite of some demonic snake. Ksi put everything she had into holding herself together; this was so she could be better for the one she loved, after all. If that was enough to remain strong, though, was uncertain.

"Right. Preparing for the final connection. Once we're done, you've got two to four weeks of physical therapy ahead of you; once you've mastered the placeholder, we'll fix you up with a custom piece built to the specifications you gave us." Harold said as he plugged in the last cable and hefted what would be her new elbow to what was left of her upper arm. He wanted her to hear it now - just in case she fainted. He slides it on, lining up the pins with surgical precision, linking the anchor rod protruding from her stump into the proper socket in the cybernetic. "Take a deep breath, and..." He presses a panel on the arm. In just under a second, needles drove into the stump, screws dug into each of the ports anchored to her humerus, electricity surging through her nerves...

's Ksi, and some time back I mentioned to Coyotek that Harold here would definitely like to help her, so...decided to make my request a gift, too!

Oh, neat, and unexpected. I talked before with few people that wanted to give Ksi a prosthetic arm, but so far you are the only one who did keep their word :D
Thank you very much for this gift, but I will stick with drawing her with her disability though, in my opinion that makes her a more interesting character. Just look at Strypes fursona, he has cybernethic legs, and I'm beting that most of people just glance over them with "cool cyber legs", they dont think how did he lost his legs, now if he wouldnt have those and instead be on a wheelchair people would go "holy shit dude" and start asking questions, just as they do looking at my Ksi.
From the art-side, I know I should not complain about a gift, but there are two details that are missing from Ksi, one minor is the ear piercings fashion and the other major one is the fur stripe from her forehead (piercings are minor, since body art like that is mode-able, referance https://www.furaffinity.net/view/8344972/). The other thing that bugs me is the random, small, shoulder pad that looks like its screwed into Ksis flesh and bone... ouch xD

It's all attached to flesh and bone :P before something like this, you need surgery to put in anchors, deeper in the body, secured to bone, or else the prosthetic would just rip out from any torque. And I see your point, but even Prof. Hangar's cybernetics are perfect, they can sometimes cause a great deal of pain, or sensitive parts could break. But either way, it would help her do her job, hm? :P

I know right? I have the same concepts about cybernetic limbs. Just look at my Tasha character. She has a complete cybernetic arm that goes under her shoulders skin and fur, same goes for her leg. I just pointed to that shoulder pad since for me, it is a bit oddly placed.

Well, that's because that's not the finished product. it's a sort of "training arm", something for her to learn how to sue the cybernetics with. When you get something like that put in, it isn't just a get-up-and-go thing; you have to learn to use the limb all over again! The finished one would have more parts that go up and connect to the shoulder pad. :)

Figured I should point out that point to you, too. :3

Also, if the Professor were to finish a custom arm for Ksi, it would have a protective sleeve that would go up to the shoulderpad

Amazing thing is, this isn't far off from being scientific fact O.O we all-ready have synthetic limbs for war-wounded soldiers who then go on to climb K2 or do the dacar rally ^^ The indomitable anthro spirit <3
