Meet Officer Akila Keket, a very serious android cop in a cyberpunkish future.
As a cop, she must struggle with trying to prevent a brutal war between organics who fear they are losing their jobs to robots, and the robots who, due to not being programmed in self defense, are at risk from the brutality of the offended organics (though some are trying to reprogram the capacity, which puts in a risk for organics... and one dead organic at mechanical hands can make the rumblings of conflict into a full roar of battle). The corp that own her (and most of the local police in general) seems not to care, as broken machines simply means they get to make and sell more. Furthermore, as a machine, if she were to break off from the force to work for herself, she'd probably be hunted down as a criminal.
Joss Whedon? Are you looking to do anything furry? ^.^ We have a strong female lead with lots of troubles, two of your absolute favorite things! (And no, I am not being serious. This is way below Joss Whedon.)
