Character Sheet for Chauncy Beddingford
Chance, Chinzy, Chin, Chauncy "Bed 'er 'ard"
After reading and hearing of the exploits of the British Lancers, the Dragoons against the Russians, and the French, Chauncy knew that a life of pushing papers and attending Galas like his parents and siblings wasn't for him.
His tutor was a survivor of The Crimean war, although he was not at the most famous and tragic of their battles. Nonetheless, he was an old veteran, and had many stories for the bright, exuberant young man. Riding into battle on a white horse with no armor, charging into infantry and cannon alike with nothing in mind but glory and country lit a fire in the little black ratter.
As soon as he was old enough, he found himself signing up, using his tutor's old influence and his father's name to join the ranks of the 17th Lancers, The Death or Glory Boys, The Horse Marines, The Tots, The White Lancers! And also.... The only man among the ranks who had never so much as seen a horse in person, that wasn't attached to a carriage.
Though stationed in India for awhile, Chauncy's first time in battle was against the Zulus at Ulundi. Though the battle was very bloody, Chauncy himself surviving with a pistol wound from a comrade, as well as sword slashes along his legs and torso, scarce half the blood left in his body, he knew this was the only life he could ever lead.
Chauncy is very energetic, and powerful. His Scot blood comes out in his behaviour, as he is NEVER middling. Chauncy is always ecstatic or enraged, overjoyed or in depths of depression, usually going through the full list of emotion daily, sometimes cycling through them every hour or less when he's drinking.
