On my support sites I am allowing patrons to send Katlyn questions.

Here's answer 02! This one took some serious time on my part. Had a lot to keep track of.

Ryan's design has also received an update in the process.

Alleghenia sounds oddly familiar...

It very well might. It was nearly the name of upstate NY once. It's also a colloquial name given to parts of WV, PA, Ohio and western NY sometimes.

Named for the Allegheny mountains and foothills.

I drew a lot of inspiration from the real world in some of my fantasy lore building as many do. Alleghenia is deeply personal to me, and the fictional country is roughly based on the Appalachian mountains (the entire range).

Vellweb is based on Louisiana! Which I spent 8 years living in.

I love that you actually drew a real map for your world, shows how much you care about this world. it's also a lot more creative then a lot other fictional maps I've seen, some of them just flip, reverse or rearrange a real world map and call it a day.

I am very happy it is appreciated! I have put a stupid amount of time into my world for something so few apart from myself will ever care about. haha

I've been building Noria since 2004. Though this iteration came about around 2010 when I decided to drop the "modern" setting and go for a more fantasy-steampunk hybrid world.

This is really neat! I love world-building and lore like this, and it's really nice to get a deeper look into this world you've created. It sounds like quite an interesting, if potentially dangerous, place to live, and I definitely get a sense of resentment in Ryan's description of the Empire. Not that I blame her for that! I love the map you've created for it, too. As someone who has repeatedly tried, and failed, to put together a comprehensive world map of my own fictional world, I know how much thought that can take! Especially when you have not just the continents but various states within them. Great work on this, and thanks for sharing!

Also, Katlyn's adorable here. Not especially helpful, sure, but adorable!

Ryan is no fan of Canivir. No fan at all. When you glance at the world map (just posted as of this reply) you may notice how many other parts of the world they have stepped upon.

Due to the limited powers of long-distance communication in this world even Ryan is unsure of how far reaching they are. Her uncertainty makes her even more nervous.

As an example of this, her knowledge of the outside world is unique. Normally reserved for people in positions of power or prestige. Katlyn barely knows the lay of the land of her own country. Ryan is an unusually informed individual, and that has deeper tendrils of character lore you may already have an inkling of from past works.

So she's perfect for my lore dumps! I don't have to break Katlyn's character to do it.

Also thank you, I have put YEARS into this world. I considered many things when building the map. Geological coherence as well as some fantasy fun; and pleasing continental shapes.

Gosh, you have no idea how much I am like a sponge to such creative stuff like this! I am a whore for characters with backstory, unique world stories and lore on top of that. Really love this kind of stuff so much <3

Glad to see that there are others interested too from the comments section! I love this stuff so much that I tend to make a lot of  my own worlds, characters, lore and such too. Lately me and my sweetheart have been working together on a world and story with our combined cast of characters but its still a WIP so can only share little things n_n;

OMG YEEESS!! The world building has begun!! This gets all my experience as an avid D&D player and DM tingling so hard! Room for so many stories and LORE! Can't wait to see what comes of this. I'm already loving both characters so far and this just hits all the right buttons for set up. Love things like this so much. You still got it Skoon! I once again bow before greatness!

Oh my. <3

Thank you! I have to admit though, some of the questions people have asked are just horny and have no lore value. I think that's expected though, it IS Katlyn. I hope these help kindle interest but I think the people who actually support my work are more into the porn.
