Okay, so, I've decided that for convenience and fun, I'm going to post little 'spotlights' for each of my characters every wednesday this summer, featuring their basic data and history in one place... going in the order that makes it make sense.

Which means I'm starting with somebody I don't do much with any more, but he's still quite important.

Dr. Callado

Name(?): Franklin Slivki, Felipe Callado, both are probably fake names.
Age: 43
Species: Gryphon, formerly Cat
Height: 6'9"
Sex: Male
Gender: Male
Sexuality: Kinsey 5, almost, but not quite, entirely homosexual. Entirely homoromantic.
Alignment: Well-Meaning

Personality:
Felipe is a serious, sober-minded scientist who nonetheless has lofty ambitions and a tenuous grasp on what is and is not possible. He wants to save people, fix people, and while genuinely trying to give them what they want naturally falls into a pattern of bossiness and occasionally condescension. An unabashed intellectual, Felipe's conversational skills and charisma aren't the greatest unless you share one of his passions, but he's a fantastic person to have on your side, if only distantly.

History:

The Labs:
SilenceLabs is the 'hub' for most of my characters, and responsible for the creation of about half of them, and it's all the brainchild of dear Felipe. A doctor of applied physics, after he got his start and his career was in full swing, he started looking for a way to set out on his own, away from corporate control... and he found it in the form of one single, strange object. The object had properties unlike anything else in the universe, and through extensive research, Felipe determined it to come from a different world entirely. Not a different timeline, like the current understanding of multiverse theory, not a mirror of his own world, but true alternate dimensions, places where space, time, and the rules of physics could all be fundamentally different and unconnected.

By utilizing a link to the place, he built what nobody else had, a way to visit these other places.

Where he started stealing their tech.

Rather than invent a thousand impossible devices to revolutionize the world... Felipe invented one, and decided to take the rest from worlds where they were normal enough.

He wanted to create a biomedical facility that could give anybody the body they wanted, no matter how outlandish their demands. Diet pills that worked perfectly, sex changes in an easy can, regrown limbs while you wait, the true post-medicine utopia...

But infinite potential drawbacks and side effects of taking tech from entirely different worlds... along with building his empire on devices he barely understands, resulted in Felipe's empire being one of mad science.

That constantly and inevitably backfires on him.

His very first experiment made him stronger and more masculine, but also somewhat hypersexual; and it was actually one of the most straightforward benefits he'd managed.

His next attempts at getting products resulted in him turning a new recruit into an all-devouring monster (see Char)
Making the secretary who'd been with him from the start into something even worse (see Amy)
And eventually turning even a random bit of wildlife into a destructive kaiju once he started trying to dispose of things (see Jack)

Ultimately, though, his strongest creations proved benevolent... enough, and helped him turn his ridiculous project into an actually profitable company. The enhanced physical abilities and intelligence of others proved far more useful to Felipe's ambitions than his own, and despite being nominally the CEO, he is no longer the most important person in the labs.

After transforming Char, he dated the horse for some time, and loved him deeply, but eventually they slowly grew apart due to simple personality differences. Felipe is serious, evangelical, and hardworking; while Char is cynical, differently moral, and lazy. Being insanely hot was not enough to form a relationship around, and ultimately Felipe broke up with Char when it became clear that the horse's dedication was mostly out of obligation.

Granted, they might actually enjoy each other's "company" even more now.

Currently Felipe is CEO of SilenceLabs, and is dedicating his time to actual top level business things, making sure the benevolent philosophies of the company are followed while 'managing' a number of superhumans and geniuses who could probably get along just as well without him.

Abilities:
Natural: Doctorate in physics, extremely intelligent, can fly [because gryphon]
Supernatural: Access to teleportation tech, extreme regeneration, enhanced strength and athleticism [4/10 on a scale where 2 is peak human]
