Odang and Fridgia are in a very loose sense, inspired by Odin and Frigg from Norse myth - the former much more than the latter, who basically just has a name, a marriage, being female, and if there's anything else to it that was a coincidence.
Odang is not "human" so much as the anthropomorphic, sapient version of a fictional animal that was already biologically human. So the process that gives most anthro animals their nearly-human but just slightly off personalities is applied to him; an instinct for hoarding gold and other reflective minerals and an exaggeration of one of the qualities that sets humans apart from regular animals they rule over: Reason, the ability to calmly rationalize and take action based on measurements of what's actually verifiably true instead of acting immediately on emotional impulse.
Odang is biologically incapable of feeling joy. That is, any chemical reaction in the brain that we'd think of as measurements of happiness or satisfaction (oxytocin, endorphins, serotonin, melatonin) his body simply never produces in response to his actions. You might expect someone like that to wind up in a depression spiral and not accomplish much at all, but instead he rationally and selflessly works towards good ends, fighting monsters with both his physical and magical might, protecting traveling missionaries who spread the Gospel, and even his marriage itself is an act of charity.
Fridgia is a creature of lupine passion and affection first and foremost. She's afflicted with nearly insatiable nymphomania (I didn't know when first designing the character that wolves are instinctually lifetime-maters, but as a GOOD GIRL she would've been dedicated to that either way). She is, in fact, aroused by being in any ambient temperature above the freezing point of water - hence her wearing swimwear even in the frigid Northlands. She spends most of her days in the castle's deep freeze room for long-term meat storage to force herself into calm as much as possible.
Odang married her to prevent other men from taking advantage of her, knowing he could be a husband that meets her needs without abusing her condition. While sexual attraction is completely one-sided for the pair, love is not.
