at least a month i never have a set timeframe for how long i leave multislots open i just leave em open until i get bored/no longer like them or i accidently save over the file

That last reason is pain. I feel that badly, so many times I've been working on a build in minecraft or editing a video and somehow eiither delete the original by mistake or go over the original

i still dont always remember to, but it helps a lot if the second i open it to start editing i save it under a new file name perhaps thatll help you also
