First a little history from my teenage years: Precisely a decade ago in 2012, Romania held a referendum to suspend then president Traian Basescu, the embodiment of hideousness in my book and a man who ruined many lives both before and after the fall of the Soviet Union. When this was announced I decided to do a crazy celebration video, dancing in underwear on the roof of a hydrothermal power plant in my back yard while singing "a cazut Basescu" (Basescu has fallen). No idea how I pulled off something this crazy but I did, and it went a little viral on the internet of the day to the point where people still recognize me in public and salute me with that line. For those who want to torture themselves you can watch it here, needless to say you've been warned there will be cringe:
Fast forward ten years later to last week: A judiciary court issued a final verdict on the case of Basescu (a.k.a. Petrov by his code name) being a collaborator of the "Securitate", meaning his job was to snitch on people for the Communist regime during his youth in order to get them arrested and even tortured. A recent law stipulates that any former president found guilty of working for the old regime loses all their privileges and may face criminal charges. In other words Basescu finally lost everything overnight: His villa is already being evacuated, his secret service (SPP) bodyguard has been withdrawn, and the man's in so much overall shit he ended up in the hospital when he heard the news.
Obviously I couldn't pass on the chance to make a part two in memory of the famed dance; I pulled up my Blender model, a good track from OpenGameArt, and in 3 days managed to create... this. Won't spoil it here but will say I'm happy with what I managed to pull off for something this silly. Since it's an animation work like all others, I'm sharing it here as well... the render for the video thumbnail was created separately so I posted it as the submission. Everything's licensed CC-BY-SA so do whatever you want with it just please credit me, share this shit anywhere and make some people smile!
