I'm placing my characters and the city they live on a ring world known as Oklar Prime. It was constructed by TPaw, a conglomerate, and nearly all governments of the world in order to further space exploration. But by the time of the ring's completion, TPaw had already become as big as Buy n Large and now owns all of Oklar Prime.
