With the crying bunnies stuffed into the bag, Ryan slung it over the shoulder and headed out of the village. He was in a rush to get out as quickly as possible, as the bag was a heavy one and would make it impossible to outrun any pursuers if he was caught. Things were looking good, but then two girls turned a corner and ran right to him. Ryan grit his teeth, adjusted his grip on the back for better comfort, and prepared to deal with any problems that were sure to arise. As he expected, they couldn't just let things be, and stopped right in front of him. "Nice costume, sir!" said the possum girl. "What do you have in that bag?" asked the squirrel. Ryan grit his teeth even harder. "Great, I just had to run into another curious one", he thought with great annoyance. Remembering some advice he heard somewhere, he decided that the best lie would be to simply tell the truth. "Bunnies, of course" he said, pointing at his fox mask. "Heelp! He's going to eat us!" came from the bag, to Ryan's horror. To his surprise, the girls failed to run away screaming. Instead, the possum girl laughed. "Amazing attention to detail!", she said. "Eat them out before you eat them!" suddenly contributed the squirrel. Ryan felt immense relief that his mask hid his actual expression during that moment. He knew that prey had a very different attitude to sex than his own species, but that was mostly theoretical knowledge. He never talked to them long enough to experience such things in practice. "Right, I will!" he said, trying his best to keep his voice straight. And at any rate, it sounded like a great idea, even if the way it was going to happen would be much different from what the girls had in mind. It was a real pity, he thought, that he didn't have a friend with him. The squirrel and possum girls would have made an amazing addition to the party. But one couldn't always have everything, and he already had gotten two rather than one, so he couldn't complain. "Sorry, but I'm in a hurry", he said, and picked up the pace. The longer he hung around the more he risked discovery, and since he had an extra prey he planned to have some fun with one of his captives before his friends arrived. |
