Very glad to see more Star. I hope he's never had trouble with his father. World's cutest wolf!

He doesn't get to know his father until he's of adult age. It's a prison visit and a lot of emotion comes pouring out from both sides.

Is the story of why he's in able to be told?

P.S. You're awesome too.

Star knows why his father is in prison, but his mother tries to keep the man's identity a secret. Star finds out who his father is in his early teens, but holds off on making contact until he can on his own as an adult.

Simply put:
Flower was raped, and she chose to not go through an abortion.
Star is the child she decided to have after the incident.

Flower explains to Star early on that his father did a bad thing and is in jail.
Later she explains 'The bad thing he to me is called rape, and that's when somebody forces somebody else to have sex'.
And that soon leads to, "You know that sex sometimes makes babies. Even though I didn't want to have sex, what he did to me made a baby - a baby who is innocent and has nothing to do with how bad their father is," with a tight hug to back that statement up.

Flower does a caring and careful job letting Star know the circumstance of his conception, and that he is loved because he is Flower's child. He isn't a bad thing that happened to Flower. He exists because Flower made the choice to have the child and put love into the world when she was given violence. (And in no way is this a 'pro-life' sort of moral, simply Flower's personal decision.)

That's a very sweet turn to take a rough past. I take it his existence and the story of what Flower did seems to have a positive effect on the man when Star gets in contact with him?

Not at all. There's a lot of anger directed toward Star from his father. It isn't a good conversation in the slightest. Star's father knows of his son's existence, and never wanted to come face-to-face with the kid, but leaves the possibility open, just to see if Star 'has balls' to approach him. Lots of nasty things are said about Flower in the conversation, too.

And I'm betting Star isn't hurt too deeply. He seems the type to know that that his father can't force his anger and hatred on him, that Flower came out strong and happy, and that love conquers all.

It's actually more complex than that - and really, should be something I solidify in a written story.

I'd love to read that. Star is a good person, who doesn't deserve to absorb hatred.

BTW: So happy you like Star so much ♥
