People which watch my art longer and see what i also do or play from time to time know im someone who enjoys the "good ol times" from time to time.
So lately i found out that "Spelunker", a long running series got its "HD" remake it ones got on PS3 now ported on the Nintendo Switch as "Deluxe" edition. I never owned myself a PS3 so im happy to see the port and got already a copy of it myself on my Switch, testing the waters with the game.
So far, i like it but than people might begin to wonder now "whats with all that spelunker stuff about"? Basicly, Spelunker is yet another game i played in my childhood on my C64. BUT Spelunker itself "boomed" as it came out on the NES and its version. It wasnt "very different" from what it was but the "tone" was different, seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mxsfDNxqSKM
So you should know that Spelunker is a long running "series" which a lot remakes or remasters or...similar...And that Spelunker is for sure NOT an easy game. So adding here the fact, the "Spelunker" you play in this game (i duno if he actually has a name) is actually really known as and i quote "the weakest video game character in existence".
You fall down an inc, you die. You staying to close to your bomb, you die. You touch your OWN flare, you burn yourself and die. You get hit from bat shit (yes~), you die. You fall down a rope, you die. You get hit by steam you die. Literally everything you DO done "wrong" means DEATH in this game - and the biggest problem is: it makes YOU feel somewhat stupid.
Yes, this game -IS- a hard game and so i cant understand why squresoft made already a own spelunker version, spelunker party (which i like but its more a multiplayer game and i have noone to play it with) made it "chibi" like. So with that all in mind, coming back again to my picture i thought about it would be the perfect time to make a small fanart for me with Spelunker...and so i game Lemina the role of the spelunker since we all know (now) how "fragile" The hero of this game is makes a Lemming also kinda fitting for the role as well - and if you also remember i already made her Spelunk in her own game "Underfoot" somewhat hehehehe ^^
Still, i had some fun drawing this one since Lemina the Spelunker...sounds neat :D
