Actually, it's because A.) The Pants would be ripped to shreds when they fly at high speeds, and B.) They create more drag because there's more surface area for the wind to catch, thus slowling them down, makeing it harder to fly and wareing them out faster when in flight.
So the Answer is because people would be able to see they're goods anyway, and Science!!
