I Think it's not reth, she herself saids she liked leto more when he was younger, Could be mum if the fire was an accident (smoking and heavy drinking, defintly possible), the Questioning tone makes me think it can'rt be dad he respected him and probably would have a more happy tone and more "my son", seeing he surived, and yes the boy who helps people is the other possiblty, i'm going to discount the idea of it being a doctor because of leto's reaction face not to mention the hey there is a bit too informal for just a professional, unless the tone is really sombre from a doctor, it;'s defintly intriguing to see this story play out

No way the fire was an accident. The fact Leto recognized it as alcohol-fueled fire and how calm and uncaring she was while shit was going down (as well as past hints of her abusive and unstable personality), it's very likely the fire was started by her in an attempted murder-suicide.

I kind of agree but i thought i'd throw out the long shot, i know of people who have had zero awareness while completely drunk and thus on the off chance it could be a situation like that i didn't want to fully discount it, not to mention, i guess i also hope she's not that far over the crazy hill to attempt such a thing as murder into sucide by fire (specially since fire is a horrible way to go massive pain and damage and no definte that you'll even pass on from it) but hey i'll just have to wait and see like the rest of us ;3

We've seen in the past how abusive she can be, and Leto even commented once how she was the same towards her husband even before the divorce. Before that she blamed her husband's hatred of her on Leto, saying how she wishes he was never born (something she also said to him when he was a kid, as shown earlier in the comic)...ignoring the fact that her husband hates her because she wrongly accused him of taking nude photos of their son. She later tries to emotionally manipulate Leto by saying he's hurting her for not letting her confiscate his laptop...even though she slapped him earlier so hard he got a black eye.
People like her want everything to revolve around them, and continued deprivation of unyielding obedience and worship leads to them taking extreme measures. In her case, she attempted murder-suicide. Not an uncommon thing in abusive relationships.

the fact you say it's not a uincommon thing makes me feel you have more knowledge on that subject then me since i feel it has to be uncommon even in bad realationships but i'm no expert or even knowledgeable of that subject and frankly in a sense don't want to be, it pains me to even think of people wanting to hurt each other to that extent, but indeed it if it isn't an accident then i hope leto reports it to the authorities and doesn't go further down his own dark road he's travelled most his life
