Wow, 2020... has been a year. My wife said the other day that "2020 has simultaneously been five minutes long and ten years long," and I think that she was right.

All the various things that happened in 2020 really sapped a lot of my creative drive, and some of my other projects -- like the game I've been working on -- have fallen by the wayside. But for some reason, I haven't had much problem drawing. I've done a lot of art this year, and though I don't know if there's been any dramatic change, I've continuously tried to push myself in different respects.

I started making canvas sizes bigger while working, and I've leaned harder into the "sketchy" lines (as opposed to the more "pixel" lines I was doing for a while.) I've also started using references more and attempted to push myself regarding poses and camera angles.

I've started a few projects that petered out -- like my attempt to make new reference sheets for all my characters. I only ended up getting like six of them done. I still want to get back to that and do more.

In September, I did that series of pictures and stories about a predatory, pregnant version of Judy Hopps from Zootopia, which ended up catching me by surprise with how popular it was. I have some ideas for sequel stories to that, so I do want to go back to it as well.

Voretober ended up going really well, and I feel like I drew some of my best pictures this year during that month. It's too bad I can only include one here.

Art goals for next year:
-Continue to push my compositions, posing, and anatomy.
-Do more 1-3 page comics, probably in black and white (or only partially colored) to increase production speed.
-Get back to work on game dev projects. I want to try to make multiple smaller projects and experiments to test myself and keep my skills up.
-Catch up with questions on CuriousCat and get back to answering those regularly again. And, in general, try to interact with my followers more (maybe I'll try to be more active on Twitter?)
-Maybe, finally, start some kind of longer-form comic or serial story, possibly in my fantasy setting. I have wanted to do so for a long time.
-Maybe experiment with short animations more? I really like animating, but it's time-consuming and probably a lower priority for me than the other things above.

Thanks to everyone who has supported me throughout 2020. It's been a rough year, but we've all survived it, and I'm looking forward to a better 2021!

Ask me questions on my Curious Cat! Feel free to ask questions to either me or one of my characters.
If you're so inclined, I'd much appreciate it if you'd buy me a coffee!
