MUBBA (sobbing): "I'm sorry I messed everything up. If you like the skateboard, you can have it. We don't even have to be friends---just maybe, please, play with me once in a while, or not make fun of me so much. Would that be ok?"
GENE: "Keep the skateboard---we offered our friendship before we knew about it"
TASLI: "And if you want someone to play with you, go back to the wolves---they like chew toys!"
