Since there can be 1 to 20 characters per page, in order to measure our monthly workload more precisely, we use "number of characters per month" rather than number of pages. At the moment, each month's Patreon funds 70 characters per month!
That's 35 pages, if each have two characters. Or half as much if there are four characters. The total is always 70 characters per month.
> Sure you may sell to 10 people but will anyone ever see it again after that?
Why should we worry about this? Why should we make the lives of those people who don't do better - our own lives better?
> I don't think that's fair to the art.
we are more concerned about this being fair to our wallet. We love this project, we love working on it. But we have to pay the bills, improve our computers.
> Every other major Patreon eventually releases their premium work for free, as art is more important than money.
It is their decision and also the right to manage their work and time. We don't think this is reasonable. Your argument sounds a little ridiculous. "Look - there are 10 people jumping off the roof of a skyscraper! Why don't you do the same?" Because we are going our own way. Because "see point number one". And for a thousand other reasons. If "art is more important than money." - Why don't you give us some money to get art? Why do you need money if it is "not important"? ;)
