Killa was the first and only (so far) house duck in my family. She was the one baby duck that struggled so hard to free herself from her egg that her body became too exhausted to finish hatching. My mom pulled her out. She was sure that it was dead, but she was determined to try to give it a chance. So, she did some quick research and found that electrolytes can help a baby duck's energy. She gave the little spent duck some gatorade, and she pepped right up. She was my mother's little baby Killa for months. When she grew up enough, she went outside to adventure with her siblings and had a blast. Sadly, one morning recently Killa didn't show up for breakfast as usual. My mom looked everywhere for her, but couldn't find her. It seems that she's gone. My mom said that she was good company. I know this loss has to hurt because she put a LOT of energy into raising that duck. She asked me to draw a portrait of her, so I did my best to bring out Killa in her happiest state on the pond. Sorry for the sad story. I'm just glad I got a chance to do something for my mom while she's hurting.
