I think this is my favorite chapter in all honesty. This scene in particular just has SO MUCH! I don’t know if it was all intentional, but I’d like to just gush about it for a minute. I think it’s beautiful that the whole chapter can be summed up as “Life should be more than just… Surviving” – Raph. The fact you had Raph flee to Casey’s vacant apartment is just so-! Gosh I think it fits right in with both the story and Raph’s character. I think, now that Casey moved in with April, sometimes Raph likes to pretend that this is his apartment, and for a little while he can escape his fate. For a moment he can be a normal guy living in New York. He can do more than “just survive”. So, whenever he feels trapped, he goes to “his apartment” and coming out of Chapter 19 Raph definitely had a lot of reasons to feel trapped.
The Japanese text on the handle of Leo’s Katana is a Japanese proverb that can be roughly translated to “Drunken life, dreamy death” or when one spends their entire life daydreaming, or losing focus, and never really accomplishing anything with their life. I Like to imagine that in the context of this story Leo has engraved it into the handle of his katana (which is an extension of himself) as a permanent warning to himself of what will happen if he ever allows himself to “lose focus/control” which is reflective of Leo’s state of mind in this chapter, and sort of the story as a whole so far. In this chapter Leo grows and understands that nothing horrible will happen if he allows himself to lose control when he’s home. It’s Okay to dream! But you can’t JUST dream! You need to act on those dreams! It’s time for him to nut up, and act on his feelings with Raph! So… I guess he’s going to need some new handles for his swords XD I Hope that all made sense! I really love this story; I knew I had to draw this scene when I read it. I’ve been holding off on releasing it for almost a month, Hence why It’s the first one I’m posting.

From his posture, you can tell that Raphael is thinking deep thoughts. It's amazing to see a scene come to life like this and I am very moved by your generosity. <3
