In this super simple piece, it depicts a new character of mine called Haruko.
Haruko, much like the theme of the art, has Selective Mutism.
October is known as Mental Health Awareness month, (though I and a collaborator will be calling it Anxiety Awareness Month) and the 10th is Global awareness.
Here, I'll list a single fact of Selective Mutism for this post and another, later in the month.
1. Selective Mutism is classified as an Anxiety Disorder. As such, it isn't simple shyness or just a choice to not speak. It's very situational and triggers vary from person to person.
Think of it like a powerful phobia.
Next piece coming later this month.
Make your own piece of art to spread awareness!
