"We're approaching Monster Island." the male pilot flying the leading helicopter said into the walkie.
"Has Miki already informed Godzilla of your arrival?" said a female researcher back in Tokyo.
"Made sure of it. He shouldn't be alarmed or disturbed when we get there."
"Good. Now that he's gone into labor, that's the last thing we want. Remember, it is your assignment to make sure the baby arrives safely."
"Yes ma'am. Anyway, we'll be landing soon. Call you later."
The pilot placed the walkie back down, and he and the others who had come with him prepared for landing. Miki Saegusa, a psychic woman with a sort of connection to Godzilla, looked up, having been deep in thought during the flight.
"Godzilla's fraternal anatomy is quite surprising." she said, more to herself than the pilot. "His gestation period was exactly the same as a human's, and the baby will be born naturally, as apposed to hatching from an egg."
"It's a miracle Godzilla even got pregnant." the pilot added. "But I guess there's no point in figuring out how. What matters is that it happened, and now the baby's underway." Miki nodded in agreement and said nothing more.
The fleet of choppers landed at the site of Godzilla's birthing nest-which was made from fallen trees and other greenery-and the team began preparations for the delivery. The King of Monsters was laying on his side in said nest, panting and holding the bulge in his stomach, which was moving around as the infant kaiju positioned itself to leave Godzilla's still unexplained womb.
Miki carefully approached Godzilla, and the parent-to-be looked at her with calmness despite the pain he was in from the contractions, letting out a short and very soft roar. Miki telepathically asked him where Anguirus-the father-was, to which Godzilla responded that he had gone to another island to deal with a more hostile kaiju who was causing trouble. That had been some time ago, though, and Anguirus still hadn't returned. Godzilla was worried, but Miki reassured him that he was fine and would return before the baby arrived.
Her prediction proved correct, as the soon to be father surfaced on Monster Island and tended to his partner, giving him a comforting nuzzle and lick. The team that had arrived to help Godzilla give birth had studied and learned that, instead of waiting until he had fully dilated, he had to wait until his hormones reached a certain level to start pushing. They stayed in touch with the researchers in Tokyo, who were keeping an eye on Godzilla's hormone level, and would let them know when he was ready.
Anguirus and Miki tried to keep Godzilla calm during labor, but then a strong contraction hit him, and he roared loudly in pain. A chopper hovered above him with a long, narrow contraption hooked up to it. Anguirus was suspicious, but Miki hurried to reassure him and his partner.
"This is a numbing agent, Godzilla." she explained. "We'll just pump it into your mouth and it'll make the pain go away. It's been carefully designed to do just that, nothing else. And I promise, it won't hurt the baby in any way."
Relieved by this, Godzilla opened his mouth and allowed the team to feed him the solution. In seconds, he was numb from the waist down, the pain from the contractions gone. With Godzilla now resting comfortably, all the team could do was wait.
Finally, a few hours later, a researcher in Tokyo contacted the team on Monster Island and announced, "He's ready to push! Help him in every way you can!"
The team, along with Miki and Anguirus, coached Godzilla along as he pushed. It was an incredible experience for Miki and the other humans, watching the King of Monsters give birth. Dusk came and went, night fell, and still Godzilla kept pushing, desperately trying to help the baby inside of him emerge into the world.
The first light of dawn streaked across the sky when finally, the baby kaiju plopped onto the bed of the nest, still wrapped in the amniotic sack. The humans helped Godzilla and Anguirus tear it open, and a tiny snout poked out and made a small chirping sound. The rest of the sack fell away, and the baby sat in full view, for everyone to see.
The baby was a reptilian kaiju with emerald green skin and forest green dorsal fins like Godzilla's, which were tipped with a shade of light brown; the same brown color was also on its underside. The fins stopped at the base of the tail, and the tip was barbed with spikes similar to Anguirus'. It had gold makeup-like markings around its golden-brown eyes, and long eyelashes. The newborn looked around at all the new faces, then chirped again.
"It's a girl." Miki confirmed. No one argued, as the baby did have a feminine look to it.
Godzilla reached his head down and gently nuzzled the baby, growling affectionately. She let out what sounded like a giggle, and Godzilla cradled her in his arms. Anguirus gave her a small lick, the look of a proud, happy father in his eyes. Miki and the team stood in silent joy watching them.
"What's her name?" someone asked. Miki forwarded the question to Godzilla, and when he responded she answered,
The humans eventually left the kaiju family alone. When they returned, Miki made the announcement on live television, saying that Godzilla and Anguirus' baby was safely born and is in good health.
She ended with the declaration, "Welcome Auraveila, Princess of the Monsters!" And the people of Tokyo-and around the world-celebrated the birth of Earth's future protector and Harbinger of Balance.
