Character Sheet for Michi Hiratani
Personality
In a word, Michi can be described as 'intense'. She carries a deep sense of pride in her family name and the need to prove herself at all turns, leading her to be fiercely competitive in nearly everything she does. This often lead to more foes than friends, she doesn't mind-- so long as there's a line of opponents, she can seek to challenge and grow stronger.
However, if she finds no desire for conflict, Michi can switch on a dime and be very courteous, if a bit curt. Those on this other spectrum will find themselves under her self-appointed protection, extending especially to her remaining family and those who took her in. Though terrible at showing or declaring it outright, Heaven help anyone who decides to bully or pick on those she holds dear.
In her hometown, Michi was often compared to a tiger over a monkey. But in her frequent moments of solitary training, she still finds time to meditate as she did with her father, and seek improvement of spirit, in addition to the body.

Background/History
Michi was born and raised in a small village far east, enjoying a quiet and happy life of simple, rural pleasures. Though a mixed child with a folk hero father hailing from Chun-Nan, they were treated well, and she was left with a powerful impression on the importance of family and community.
Near the start of her teenage years, a terrible earthquake rocked the village below their mountain hut while her parents were visiting on a shopping trip. For a time, Michi was left living with survivors and consoling her heartbroken brother. Suddenly, she was offered a new life from a childhood friend of her mother's, Suzu, who heard of the incident over the news. Though reluctant at first, seeing other villagers attempts to move on, and the desire to keep her brother safe led to a new life on South Island, in the rather opulent Gardyner estate.
Now, she lives in a new community with a new family, carrying her father's legacy of martial arts in an ever-improving style she calls Jounetsu-kan.
