Life isn't easy for the young rooster, Lawrence. He was born the tiniest of his brood by a large margin and continued that way even up into sexual maturity. As a result, he often finds himself ostracized from the flock of his barn. Despite this, Lawrence is adventurous and is willing to go to any distance to reach his goals… even while shaking in fear.
He daydreams often of being held in high regard and respected among his flock. On warm days, he takes a piece of pumpkin (his favorite) to the roof of the barn and lazily slips into his fantasies of praise. While Lawrence is fairly confident and hopeful of himself, the thought of never finding his place in the world and perpetual loneliness terrifies him. In the end, he just wants to belong. Unfortunately, while bright for a chicken, he's incredibly naive to the world around him and can be told to do almost any task with minimal convincing.
After being mystified by two strays, he finally has an idea on how to become a respected member of the flock: become the top junkyard dog?!
