But where do the feral ones come from?

Ah! Well, that explains the deal with Little Miss's appearance. I guess that was the process shown on the page she was explaining the process for before leading Ella to the barn and isn't part of the 'normal' process.
Where the original 'feral' creatures come from is still another matter, though some guesses can be made

...The "since some readers cannot grasp how this process works so far" text is pretty condescending, though.

it's probably my own fault for not being a good story teller but being asked the same question over and over and answering it in the damn comments and people not reading the damn comments before posting their same question makes me a bit irritated :)

in regards to the question

Unfortunately that's just par for the course. With a large audience, multiple people are going to ask the same questions a lot since the human brain tends to work (and fail) in fairly predictable ways. And there are also cases where people simply don't remember details from earlier in the story that had been posted weeks or months ago - I'm guilty of this myself and sometimes need to go back and look for some details I have since forgotten.
And sometimes people just make mistakes or miss things. Again, get a large enough group of people together and that will become a common occurrence as well.

One of humanity's idiosyncrasies.

I recall seeing a link in an older post for FAQs for this comic.  Perhaps just post that link in the description of each page?
Amazing comic, btw.  I have never really enjoyed latex or TF, because it doesn't turn me on, and I'd never thought it could be independent of sexuality.  This comic does that, and finally I can enjoy it without that.  I can finally enjoy a little Latex and TF, without the fetish.  Thank you.

unfortunately people will always call somethin in here a fetish. :p like, im asexual, i literally cant turned on to any of this, yet some people are saying im inserting my fetishes into this comic and that i secretly enjoy this shit like wtf

i just wanna draw latex because it's fun to draw compared to normal things, the thought behind specular placement and reflection and colours bouncing, a fun challenge. and cuz shiny stuff looks nice in genreal. but people who portray it as a fetish kinda corrupt it into something i cant enjoy. :p glad this story can be enjoyed by peopel who aren't into latex. since latex here is plot point, not just there to be there. explanation for everything, chekhov's gun
Thaddeus

I won't lie, when I write, I insert a lot of my own fetishes into it.  Therefore, it doesn't surprise me that people would assume such a thing with whatever they see, especially places like IB.  People do tend to draw/write what they like, but I'll admit it seems rude that anyone would comment in such a way.
I look forward to the next part of this nice, clean, sfw latex and transformation themed comic.  I am genuinely interested in where this goes.  Keep up the good work, Trunch.

"But why male models?"

In Zoolander, there’s a scene where Zoolander asks why male models are being used as assassins.
The person he asks spends several minutes explaining the entire thing in detail.
When he’s done, Zoolander asks “But why male models?”

The funny thing about that scene is that the actor forgot his line and the director thought it was so appropriately funny they left it in the movie.
Tanna
4 months, 3 weeks ago
True! I read that too. Totally forgot the line but it fit the character so well that the director went with it. Though personally I thought the movie was too stupid to be even funny :( I know others thought it was amazing and that is fine. I just thought the character of Zoolander was too stupid to allow me to suspend my disbelief. I liked Owen Wilson in the movie though. His character was stupid too, apparently they went with the stereotype that all models are dumb as a bag of rocks...sorry rocks...But for some reason it was not as jarringly stupid as Zoolander

Honestly, and I might have said this in another post, your desire to do this story around your latex fetish is cool but it's not the reason I'm watching. I'M more interested in how and why there are latex animals running around an otherwise "normal" looking world, i.e. one that resembles ours. Also how someone figured out you can SKIN these animals and use them as a second skin to essentially BECOME said animal and what purpose there is in doing this other than it's cool!
I trust you to be able to convey this so I'm not really worried about the hows and whys at this point but I AM hoping that some of this will be address and will admit that I'm new to this universe of yours.
With that said, please continue and I'll be anxious to see how it turns out.

a fetish requires a sexual attraction to it. i cannot feel sexual attraction, showing interest in something does not make it a 'fetish'. otherwise, an interest in children or dogs means i have a child or dog fetish which doesn't make any fucking sense. please dont doing this.
but thank you for the rest of the commentc. the how latex animals came to exist will be elaborated on in the next chapetr

Trunch

i agree with you
i just dont feel comfortable calling this a fetish. it's like, drawing a pokemon. some people think it's cute, and then there's a subset of people that say "i'd fuck that" and label it a fetish. im jst tryinna draw latex,. i'm not trying to fuck it, or to turn you guys on to fucknig them. in fact, half the point of this comic is to disgust people and turn them away from wanting to wear living latex suits because of how cruel/immoral/unethical it is. i dont want to encourage people to wear them. XD

i really appreciate your interest in this comic and that despite your non-interest in latex, you're still reading it ^__^ its not a story that requires you to be interested in it much of all to get into :) i think, the less you write things as a 'fetish' and more as an actual plot device, you get more readers. because they dont have to be as inherently invested to like something that focuses around something not often used... example, kill la kill and its living clothes. living clothing is a fetish in itself but obv it's not portrayed as fetish [fanservice not included], but an actual plot device maintained throughout its entirety

The "carcasses " , and skin are capable of surviving  independent  of one another.
Does this apply to every part of the creature .

Trunch

hi, i think you might find this discussion interesting... it has to do with 'memories of a carcass' and it discusses how a carcass functions after being skinned http://shiney.fun/2019/01/suit-process/#comment-2960

The history/creation of these suits are far darker than I imagined. At first I started reading it because it looked like silly fun comic. But now I'm hooked on the story as it evolves (for me) into a suspense-thriller.
chaosblackwing
4 months, 3 weeks ago
Well, that's both less, and more horrifying than what I was thinking. No taking humans and turning them into suits, 'just' natural latex animals that eat humans and thereby gain the form.

... And who are then skinned, with both halves still alive. With the 'body' fed to other ferals.

Horrifying still to be sure, but certainly an effective way to keep the story interesting and engage in some solid worldbuilding.

Thanks for the explanation Trunch. Your not a bad story teller. I was able to get the gist of it no problem. Then again, I'm a book worm who reads more then I watch TV. So, yea... your individual way of explaining is fun to read.

I absolutely love your artwork and storytelling so much, Trunch. You've quickly became one of my, if not my, absolute favorite artist here. The artwork is always so vivid, with such amazing personalities and love poured into them, and the comic has so many dynamics and emotions tied in.

I've not really read much comics in my life, but yours, yours is special. I feel and care for the characters so much. Sucks that a group of loud people ruined one of the super interesting plotlines, but I know that's not your fault, and while I lament the loss of it, I understand your desire to just move on from the drama.

And back tot he artwork, holy wow. Some of the panels in the earlier comic, when she's painting Zeitch directly, was quite simply breathtaking. (Also, was the doggo from earlier... the latex 'carcass' of Zeitch? ._. ) Some of it just looking at, made me feel so serene and happy. Just..

I know there's loads of people who love and support your work, and I'm just another person in the crowd, but..

Thank you. Thank you so much, for deciding to share this story with us. Thank you, for putting the time and effort into crafting this absolutely beautiful world, and sharing with us.

You are loved. <3

thank you much for your comment, i really appreciate your generosity

to clarify, the dog is not a latex carcass... as in order to get zeich, you need to skin an anthro, not a feral

Both cases its messed up, you would think they would be wiped out for being such a danger to people.

This is really dark.
The IRL fur industry was never this bad.
It's like you took the worst aspects of nature and man and combined them.

I'll be sticking around to see how this plays out.

(and for what it's worth, I'm not into latex either, just got hooked by the characters)
whiskeyfur

If I read it right, then that means skinning it actually creates two living things out of one.  Now I’m wondering if those latex animals borrow a bit from how amoeba reproduce.... and if the carcass can actually be considered organs and such, or only more of the same material that thinks they’re organs...a collection of amoebas that are imitating the life that they’ve eaten
Nyrufa

Wait, I'm a little bit confused:

Are the feral latex animals their own species, or did the creators turn a bunch of feral animals into living latex?
