I had a vision of Meryl having artificial legs. As odd as it sounds, I really liked the idea of her actually being born with a Mermaid tail instead of legs, being one of the few Dragoceans born before the worlds were fused together and built purely for the sea. The story that explains how she gets these legs will be put on the site and her bio, but despite their appearance, like other Roboninjians (Viraptor), they do still feel organic and still function as regular Starmaninjian legs. She can feel the ground and every touch. When she is fully submerged, her legs will revert back to her Mermaid tail allowing her to swim freely.
On another note: I'm working on the main hero cast for the "Starmaninja Origins" story. Meryl is one of them as well as Bullet, Kao, and Starky so far. Likely Zodia and Clover as I try to figure out how I want to tell the new origin story. So you'll be seeing Meryl a lot. Amazing she went from a character I almost completely forgot about to one of the main protagonists, but I didn't actually make a hero for Dragocea and she fit perfectly (as well as her friend/rival/lover Kyrasha)
If you're curious, the legs are meant to look like transparent skin filled with thick water rather than metallic but give that prothestic like appearance.
wow! I'm lucky I found this, because I like character with marine features. I I really like this character! It's very original character design and she's gorgeous! I love how the red outfit contrasts with her skin, it's a cool detail I think in my personal opinion I find the legs to be a bit too big compared with the rest of the body, but I guess that's the style of cartoon drawing, and I think that's ok. Her being cyborg and mer-folk at the same time it's great I think because I like both! Heheh

Ah thanks! Yeah I'll admit even I find I drew the legs larger than I should've. They are meant to be somewhat muscular but this image makes them look a bit too big given her nature (probably a pencil line width thinner would be good). Still I'm really glad you like the concept! I didn't think of combining Mermaid and cyborg to explain how she walks on land until I drew this image, but the idea just seemed perfect for her.
