I'm confused about what's happening at the end. Is that a new sword in the 7th panel and is it coming out of a sheath or stabbing the bat? Did the sword break in the 8th panel or are there now two of them?

Edit: The next page makes it clearer. That's the dagger I had forgotten about falling out.
