The Care Bears
The Confidence Secret
3rd Part
Chapter 22

*****

Calvin came home shortly after five in the afternoon. He had had a very stressful day, and he wanted to get some rest. Not to mention other more worries.
- Good evening, Mr. Calvin - said Patricia, the young diarist laborer who had served Calvin for three years.
- Very well, thank you - said the master - Where is Hector?
- I thought I was with you. He did not come home after class, I thought you went to pick him up at school...
Calvin looked at the diarist, and his eyes widened as if something worried him too much. Patricia noticed that immediately.
- Shall I call the police? - she asked cautiously.
- No, no need - replied the half-reluctant boss - Hector must have gone to a friend's house and forgot to tell us. Soon he will be appearing.
- I expect to serve dinner?
- No, you can serve him now.
The maid withdrew as Calvin scratched his chin nervously, his brow furrowed. Where would his son be? Did he disrespect him and go to meet those bears again? As a parent, Calvin would be very disappointed if his son had done it. And if he had done so, he would have been scolded when he arrived, after all, what he least wanted was to see the son involved with those people who called themselves good, but who were basically as bad as the humans.

A deep silence descended on the room as soon as Frank had just told his story. Each one was still digesting how could everything they had heard and felt during the episodes that the old human exposed to them, always with emotion and clarity of details. It was difficult to tell how each one really felt.
Champ only confirmed part of what he knew, and had been told by Noble and True to him. But now he too knew the details, what had happened to the other bears, how they got into the sea, and especially the name of their parents, which was what he most wanted to know.
James, for his part, had heard the story with interest, for he could not imagine how deep her marks were on his friend Frank and his way of running the company. Once he had heard Frank speak of this place, but never in so many details. Besides, he could never have imagined that the old man had had friends as special as bears and cousins, much less that John Dawson, the same man who worked in the area of international logistics management of the company, had such a gloomy past and caused such suffering.
Hector could not imagine how hard the childhood of his friends Champ and Confidence had been. In fact, he could not even assume they were orphans and because of that situation. But he had felt touched by other points as well, as when Frank had told him about his great-grandfather's death, when the boy began to cry with sadness.
As for Confidence, perhaps she was the one who had been most moved as she listened to the story. Discovering her origins, discovering her parents' names, the place where she was born, the story of that old man who had held her in her lap as a baby and was now in front of her, all this stirred much with the young woman, who held herself several times not to show her feelings. That was how she'd learned. But she still had doubts that were not clarified, and she would not miss the opportunity.
- And what happened to Idealist and Tricks? - she asked Frank, his voice choked with emotion, and eyes full of tears.
The old man smiled and gave a deep sad sigh.
- Honestly, I do not know - he said at last - Only the Home Secretary at the time and the official assigned to the trip knew exactly where Idealist, Tricks, Worker, Rose, Caretaker and Architect were taken. Many times I was curious to know where they were, and it would not be difficult for me to gain access to the ultra-secret documents of the case since this was part of our agreement, but I've always been afraid to bring trouble to my friends and I've decided to preserve their lives to avoid further hassles.
- That does not sound honorable or sporty - Champ said, frowning - Has it ever occurred to you that they could be found by Dark Heart and would have no help defending themselves?
- Of course I've thought of it, many times. And you do not have to tell me that, Trevor always did when we met. I wish I had been more honest with him and been able to better explain my choices...
- But you can be honest with us now, sports fan. Even because if my parents and parents of Confidence are alive, we want to find them!
Frank laughed and stared at the sporting bear, seeing the firm stance he had.
- All right, I'll do my best to locate Worker, Rose, Tricks and Idealist, whether they're alive or dead - the old man said with a wink - Is there anything else you want to know?
- Yes, Mr. Frank, there are many things I want to know - Confidence said more emphatically - You said that I and the other cubs fell into the water after a No Heart attack, but did not explain how I and the others were saved and scattered through the world to be found and raised by my adoptive father, Sage Heart Bear!
- Well, that's a question that will remain unanswered for now - the human said thoughtfully - I have no idea how you were rescued. To be absolutely frank, I did not even think you and the other cubs that fell into the water were alive.
- Maybe you guys got yourself out of the water or been rescued by the Caribs - Champ said quickly - It's a shame that Perfect and Polite Panda do not remember what happened and that Kriskun never talked about it with us...
- Are Perfect and Polite alive? - Frank asked, surprised.
- Yes, and they still live on the island, along with Kriskun and his grandchildren Tumi and Tami, who are our friends.
- If this man named Kriskun is alive, he can confirm whether or not our friend fennec has been rescued - James said after a long time in silence - God, this is incredible. Now I understand why you avoided talking about your past and San Martin to us, Frank. Nobody would believe it. I myself would not have believed if I was not face to face with Champ and Confidence!
- This is what happens when you get old, people do not believe in us anymore - the businessman pondered sadly - But now you have a new understanding of my story and that of the company, and knowing the bears and cousins you can understand many of my decisions. That is why I believe that, as of today, you will be prepared to take the presidency of B & H when the time comes.
James lowered his head with a faint, embarrassed smile as Hector stared at the old man.
- Mr. Frank, you said there was a family on the island called Kayson, and... - the boy began hesitantly - Well, my name is Hector Kayson, and my grandfather's name was Andrews...
- That's exactly what you're thinking - Frank confirmed calmly, with a grin - Your great-grandfather Cristian, besides being a close friend of Worker and Rose, was also a hero in saving the life of Noble, True and the cubs that day.
- YY-You mean my great-grandfather died to save the lives of bears and cousins, including Champ? - Hector asked, looking surprised, his lips trembling and his eyes filled with tears, barely believing what he had just heard, and being silent for some time.
That reaction made Frank fear that the boy would also consider the bears and cousins a threat, just as Joana, Andrews, and Calvin thought. What would Hector do now? Could he hate and repel the bears as his ancestors did, such was the anger and hatred they felt to lose a family entity in a situation like that on the island? Everyone stared at the boy, who was crying with emotion, until he gave his answer in an unexpected way. Standing up, he held Champ and Confidence as tightly as he could, and with a look of gratitude that could hardly match anybody else.
- I want to be friends with you forever! - he declared with a huge smile of happiness, making both athletes thrill - No matter what my father says of you, are my friends and this will never change!
- We'll be friends forever, sports fan, just like your great-grandfather and my parents were... - Champ felt his voice shakes with emotion, finally knowing who his parents were and finding out that an ancestor of Hector was their friend - You can count on us whenever you need, even to face your father, if need be.
- I confess I've never felt so happy as today! - said Confidence with tears streaming from the eyes - I discovered who my parents are, I discovered my history, and even that who was the human which carried me in the lap in that photograph that Champ and I saw in the Kingdom of Caring! Thank you for everything, Mr. Frank, even if you can’t explain how I managed to get off the island...
- I'm the one who needs to thank you - the old man replied with a deep sigh - I feel as if I've gotten rid of a huge weight that squeezed my chest and back during 51 years. And as for the mystery surrounding you leaving the island, there are many things in this whole story that I still can't understand, and maybe we will never find out.
- But I'm going to find out, or I'm not called Confidence Heart Fennec - the fighting fox concluded with a broad smile before embracing Frank, followed by Champ and Hector, and feeling his heart lighter than ever before.
*****
He entered his apartment with a cracked, broken heart. His feelings were destroyed, his mind racing before him. Everything he had done good or bad was now being charged him. And in a way he could never imagine. Being away from Christy for his mission was more than he could bear, he had not spoken or talked to her for months.
With no strength in his legs, Dawson fell to his knees on the floor, and wept copiously, repenting of all he had done. He was guilty of it all. Now he knew Klaus's plans, and he knew they were no good to his friends bears and cousins. It was he who had wakened and cherished that hatred of the eagle, and now there was no turning back.
- Why? - he asked himself through his tears - Why?
Even with the forgiveness of Care Bear Family, Frank and especially Christy, he would always have in his heart the mark of what he had done. He would always remember his actions, which almost led to the destruction of the happy people on several occasions, whose greatest happiness was to be able to help others. He would always bring in the memory and marks of Dark Heart, to haunt him and hover like hazy clouds over his head and the head of the Care Bear Family.

Generally Goodluck was a joyful and playful bear, in addition to enjoying very much to enjoy the company of the girlfriend, of the future brother-in-law, of the friends Tami and Tumi, besides the other Caribs, mainly Kriskun. But after hearing the story that the old man had just told, it was as if he had been stabbed in the heart.
Although he knew that he was an orphan, and that the lost valley was the former home of bears and cousins, Goodluck did not know all the details of the story, and this shocked him greatly. Not only to him, but to the five gathered there. The old village leader, accustomed as he was to the customs of his furry friends, knew that they had been disturbed by everything they had heard.
- I'm sorry if what I told you somehow hit you - he said - But I think it's time you knew. Goodluck, Perfect, and Polite for the sake of justice. In fact, I do not know why Noble and True have never told you about it, Goodluck. Already for my grandchildren, it is for you to be aware of everything that has happened and prepare to help Care Bear Family if they decide to return here.
- I had heard a part of this story… - confessed the green bear, looking at the bride - But I did not expect it to be that way my parents died.
- I did not expect it to be that way, either - Polite Panda agreed - I feel like there's an emptiness in my chest.
- My sister, do not suffer so much - said Perfect Panda - From your side you have friends who love you.
- You mean Perfect and Polite stayed here because No Heart prevented them from boarding the boat? - Tumi asked in surprise.
- Exactly, and they were lucky enough to survive, while the others... - the old man could not finish the sentence, as he was overcome by a violent sob of emotion - But I think deep down, the Great Wishing Star knew what was about to happen and prepared a plan to protect our pandas friends.
- A Great Wishing Star plan? Why did she choose us? - Perfect asked, frowning.
- Because she wanted you to grow away from the other bears. She wanted you to be the guardians of this valley, for as long as it exists it will be a safe place for all bears, cousins and friends. And here is the key for you to solve the other mysteries that surround your species.
- What other mysteries? - Tami asked with wide eyes.
- That's something I'd also like to know - said Grandfather - There's something else in the whole story, but I do not know what it is. It's up to Care Bear Family to find out, after all, it's in her interest.
"I'm happy to have that mission, and to have my brother with me - said Polite, smiling, giving a paw to Perfect, and giving another to Goodluck - And now we also have the help of Goodluck, who asked for my hand in marriage.
The lucky bear smiled sheepishly.
- Now I feel more desire to stay with you - he said - If our mission is to protect this valley from our enemies and of the snow storm that the Great Wishing Star created to hide the island, then I accept it very happy.
Polite Panda hugged the fiancé, and kissed him on the cheek. Perfect Panda looked at that scene and smiled too. How he wanted to be in Goodluck's place, having someone to call girlfriend...
- My dear brother-in-law, what is your intention? Surely you will warn others of his decision - the Panda Bear asked after a brief silence.
- I'll certainly do that - said the lucky bear - I want to marry Polite, live with her here, help you two and the Caribs as well.
- The decision is all your, Goodluck - Kriskun said - I certainly would like to see you living here, for at least I would hope that this island will one day be as it once was.
- Thank you, Kriskun, for telling the story. In the background it helped me decide what to do. As soon as I get to Care-a-Lot, I'm going to look for Noble Heart and True Heart to communicate my decision and explain why.
- Are you already leaving? Need to leave right now?
Polite grabbed the hands of the fiancé, as if asking him not to leave yet, but as much as Goodluck also did not like, he needed to go.
- I promise I'll come back as soon as I can, and bring good news - he said to the bride, who smiled sadly.
- I hope you're coming back soon - she told him - It's so hard time to separate...
- Goodbye, Goodluck - Tami said, hugging his friend.
- Yes, see you soon, and see if you can come back soon - Tumi agreed - You still owe me a fishery.
- You can be sure I keep that promise - said the bear as he hugged the boy, and then turning to the old man, squeezed his hand - Thanks again, Kriskun.
- As your ancestors used to say, I am doing nothing more than my duty - replied the old man, smiling.
- Send a hug to the other bears - said Perfect - Tell them they are hugs full of love and caring.
- And are those hugs addressed to someone in particular? - the green bear asked slyly.
Polite laughed beside him. She knew very well what the fiancé meant by that provocation to his brother-in-law.
- Surely Perfect likes to hear a symphony, but...
The female panda bear paused to let her brother finish his rhyme, as was their custom. She wanted to oblige Perfect to confirm what everyone had long suspected for a long time and to say the name of her beloved by his own mouth. But the panda surprised everyone.
- But nothing! I'm just sending a hug to the other bears - he said with no rhyme, but with great nervousness.
- All right, I pretend to believe it - said Goodluck, shaking hands with his brother-in-law, and approaching his ear, whispered confidentially - But do not worry I'll give Harmony a special hug.
Perfect smiled embarrassed, while Goodluck kissed the bride, jumped in the cloud car, and left back home. The two children, the old man and the pair of panda bears stood there, watching him disappear.
- You seem to be in torment - said Polite to his brother with a smile and a friendly tone after they were alone - Why don't you reveal your feelings at once? After all, you need to reveal one day how you feel about Harmony.
The panda breathed deeply, as if in pain of love. Turning to her sister, she returned the smile and said in a low voice,
- I do not dare do that…
- But so you're missing out - Polite said - What's the problem with you loving her?
- None, I just do not know how to treat her. And I would like to end this speech here.
Having said that, Perfect moved away into the woods, like someone who wants to reflect on his own. Polite knew his brother needed only a moment of his, and returned to the Carib village to be with Tumi, Tami, and Kriskun. She also needed to reflect everything she had heard that afternoon, and that moment might be the best of them all.

No Heart contemplated his magic cauldron, where he made his formulas to try to destroy the Care Bear Family and spread the hatred for the world. At that instant, the wicked magician was just staring at the empty bottom of the cauldron, thinking, when he heard the raucous and powerful scream of his niece on the other side of the door, the same time Beastly came stumbling, running.
- Help! - cried the bat pig, running to hide behind the master - Help me, please!
No Heart glared at the assistant, his red eyes lighting up like headlights with the anger he was feeling. Grabbing Beastly by the collar, he looked deep into his eyes.
- Do not you think you're too old to turn around without my help? - the wizard asked harshly, eliciting a nervous smile from the assistant.
- Oh, but you're powerful, and I'm sure you would not let anything bad happen to your assistant... - Beastly began flatly.
But her boss's response was not polite. Throwing his assistant to the ground, she turned her back and headed for the door, where he met Shreeky.
- Uncle - she said in her squeaky voice - Did you see...
- He's over there playing the idiot - No Heart interrupted, indicating to the girl the figure of Beastly.
- No!!! - shouted the assistant, trying to hide behind the cauldron.
- Stop it, Beastly - the young woman said with a sly grin - I have an idea how to stop the bears' joy and I need your help! Now!!! - she bellowed in her shriveled voice.
Beastly fell to the floor at the sound, shivering. In turn, the mage looked at his niece and the assistant and shook his head in a negative way. The two were a fiasco in their missions, as well as only disturbing him.
- Before you leave, I need to say something - he said when he saw Shreeky grabbing Beastly by the arm and dragging him out.
- What is Uncle? - asked the girl, who in her own way, had a great affection for No Heart, although she did not like to take orders or scolding him - I hope you do not mind me putting my idea into practice.
- No, it's nothing like that. It's about your father.
- My father? - Shreeky asked dryly.
- He warned me that he will soon be coming here for a visit, and he wants to see you, Shreeky. As I know deep down you two still have problems, I decided to warn you to get ready.
- Okay - said the girl thoughtfully and with a serious look - We'll see about that later. Now come on, you bunch of hairs! Take me to Care-a-Lot.
Shreeky struggled not to show it, but No Heart well knew the anger his niece had of her father. The only time the two had met was marked by a violent argument between them. But instead of hoping for a family reconciliation, deep down No Heart longed for this not to happen, for it would mean a defeat before the Care Bear Family.

Champ and Confidence could not explain everything they were feeling. Maybe even because those were new feelings in their chests. If on the one hand it was sad to know the real history of their families, on the other hand they were happy to have their family references now, and said by someone who surely could be considered a true friend. Frank was becoming someone special to them.
For the old man, that was also a special moment, for having the bear and the fennec. Firstly because he met them while still cubs. Then why did they remind him in some way of the others who had disappeared or died during the battle. Finally, because it was the thing he had wanted most in the past fifty years.
- Honestly you can't even imagine how happy I am... - said the old businessman, looking at his new friends - Or rather, I believe you can. I have never been accustomed to this special ability you have to identify the feelings in others and know how to deal with them.
- I think we're all feeling the same way - Confidence agreed - A mixture of sadness and joy. You're a nice guy, Frank.
- Can you tell us more about our parents? - asked Champ - I really wanted to know what they were like...
- See no hindrance - said the old man - Because I want to know more of you, too. What do you most enjoy doing, how is life in the Kingdom of Caring, how do you feel about helping others...
- I love to play sports - Champ began - All of them, but mostly baseball. I like to get up early, to do a run, gym, take care of my body and my health.
- That I can say you inherited from your mother - Frank pondered with a chuckle - Rose Bear loved running, sailing, and swimming. She also loved to fiddle with plants, as well as enjoying talking and making friends. Already his father Worker Bear was an excellent mechanic, he always repairing the cars of the residents of Heartown and Bearville, and other things as well. And he was fond of baseball, just like you.
- Actually, Champ did not say, but he's a good mechanic too - Confidence joked, looking at his friend.
- At least I try to be - agreed the bear with a smile of shame - But what else can you say about my parents?
- Many things. Worker was hot-headed, grumpy, pessimistic, while his mother was cheerful, calm and lived scolding her father lovingly. There was nothing that Worker could not fix, and he was always where someone needed it, with his pocket-covered overalls, where he kept his tools. Already Rose loved to take care of the hair and had very beautiful clothes, that preferred to use during the parties. On ordinary days, she used what we called "bears' fashion", which is how Confident it is now.
- Translating, no clothes - James joked with a wink.
- As for Confidence's parents, I can say that Idealist was a fennec female who loved to dream, shy and with many plans for the future. She was very close to Rose, and they both ran together through the streets of the city. She liked learning new things and having friends. I remember she was so shy that she often did not try to make her wishes come true. For example, she always wanted to participate in the annual regatta that was among the residents, and although she was invited by Rose and Grandiose several times, she never accepted. She was also very agile, and had a good mood that contagious all. As for Tricks, he was a very extroverted black fox. He loved being the center of attention, but only if it was to amuse and deceive the others with their tricks of illusion. Actually he was a great magician, knew many tricks and was a constant presence at the children's parties. He liked sweets a lot, was a big stubborn, and sometimes got into trouble because of it. He had a great deal of self-control over his actions, and with that he was able to calm down those who were near or at least go out rapidly of the middle of a fight.
As she listened to the description of her parents, Confidence's eyes flashed in surprise. She did not imagine that she was so much like her parents, and so different. This helped her to better understand her way of being.
- Interesting that Tricks is an illusionist - said Champ with a smile - Maybe that's why you got on so well with Sage Heart.
- As well? - Frank asked curiously.
- Nothing, he's just kidding - the fennec replied, trying to change the subject.
It was not Confidence's intention that Frank and the others would discover their magical abilities, even because she did not know how they would react. For the time being, this was a well-kept secret, and only a glance of hers in Champ showed that he had talked too much, which caused the bear to sigh.
- Well, now that I've told you about your parents and the story of the two of you, I want you to tell me about your lives in the Kingdom of Caring - the old man said with a broad smile - I want to know if everything I've been told is true, including the Stare.
- How do you know about Stare? - Champ questioned in surprise.
- Remember that I met and interviewed several children who had been helped by you and could tell me many of their customs.
- Well then, you already know that we live in the Kingdom of Caring, with Care Bears living in Care-a-Lot and Care Bears Cousins in the Forest of Feelings. We are all united, one helping each other when needed, and always vigilant about humans, to help them as well. We have lists of who is on mission or not, which can last for hours or weeks depending on the case. When a bear or cousin is scheduled for a mission, he leaves in a cloud car or a cloudmobile to...
- Mobile what? - shouted James, putting his hands on the arms of the chair and leaning forward.
- Cloudmobile, which is our individual vehicle of locomotion - quickly explained Champ - But generally we prefer the cloud cars, so we can bring the children we help to Care-a-Lot.
- Like they already did with me - Hector said, smiling and looking at the couple of friends - It's a really nice place, and I want to come back more often.
- You're lucky, while I... - Frank commented with a sad, distant look - If I could go to the Kingdom of Caring, renew my friendship with my old friends... At least I would feel that my mission in this world would be complete.
The sincere way Frank had spoken showed how much the old man wanted to be with the bears, help them with what was possible, and perhaps make him feel younger and more useful. Champ and Confidence looked at each other in silence for a moment.
- I think there's a way - finally said the fennec - What do you think, Champ? Can we take you to the Annual Caring Fair?
- Well, I... - the bear hesitated - It's all right with me to take Frank to the Kingdom of Caring, but he's an adult, and the fair is only for children.
- If I need to, I lie my age! - the old businessman joked with an irresistible glint in his eyes.
- I think your white hair would not fool anyone - Champ said with a laugh - Okay Frank, we can take you to the Annual Caring Fair, and so realize your dream...
- Wait! - exclaimed the boy - I want to go too!
- And who said you will not go? - said Confidence with a wink - Everyone here is invited, including...
To complete his sentence, the female fennec just stared at James.
- I'm flattered by this invitation - said the young businessman with a blushed smile - Even because I never refused to attend a party. And when will this fair be?
- The Annual Caring Fair is a great event we do to brighten up sad children all over the world - Champ explained cheerfully - There are play stalls, toys, roller coasters, and lots of candy to eat. Not to mention the shows and presentations. It will be in eleven days.
- Sunday, June 19 - Frank said after a moment's thought - My God... Will my heart hold out there?
- If you've held on for 50 years, waiting for this reunion, you'll be able to hold it for two more weeks - James pondered with a friendly elbow on the old man - In addition, you are an excellent singer, and could participate in the musical numbers, even to revive a little the times of youth in San Martin.
- These are things of the past - said the old man - I haven't sung for a long time.
- There's no problem if you want to introduce yourself - Champ replied with liveliness and a huge smile of joy - The SongFellow Strum is always present and likes to share the stage with other attractions.
- Who? - they all asked in unison.
- The SongFellow Strum - Champ repeated - You still do not know him, Confidence. He is a country musician, has a magic train made of clouds, loves to sing and is always going to visit us in Care-a-Lot. In fact, he is the only adult human who has been to the Kingdom of Caring for many years. At the previous fair he needed to be absent because of a flu, but he warned Noble Heart that he is present this year.
- And what is the true name of this lucky citizen? - the old businessman asked curiously.
- Well... I do not know. He has always performed as The SongFellow Strum. But you will have a chance to ask him directly. All we have to do is arrange the meeting point to pick you up on the day of the fair.
- Then we will do it - Frank concluded with a grin that went from ear to ear, so happy that he had that invitation and his reunion with bears and cousins after so much time.

Hector tiptoed home. It was almost nine o'clock at night, and he did not want to be caught by his father since he would ask questions. The room was dark, and the boy did not want to turn on the light. Walking slowly, he was already approaching the hallway that led to the rooms when suddenly the lights came on and his vision burned.
With a cry, the boy covered his eyes for a moment, and when he could look around, he saw his father sitting on the couch with a frown on his face. In his hand he had a leather belt that kept swinging.
- Onde você estava até agora (Where were you until now)? - Calvin asked his son.
- Na casa de Osvaldo (In Osvaldo house) - Hector replied, getting livid and sweating pouring from his forehead.
- Ah, na casa de Osvaldo (Oh, at Osvaldo's)? - repeated his father pretentiously -
- Que interessante. Eu liguei para todos os seus colegas mais cedo, e todos eles me disseram que não o viam desde quando o deixaram no campinho de futebol da outra rua, na companhia de dois amigos... Aliás, quem são eles (How interesting. I called all his colleagues earlier, and they all told me that they had not seen him since they left him in the soccer field on the other street, in the company of two friends... Anyway, who are they)?
- São dois garotos da quarta série (They're two fourth grade boys) - Hector's voice was shaking - Você ainda não os conhece (You still do not know them)!
Calvin frowned and, rising, walked slowly to where his son was, trembling with fear that his father would discover the truth. But deep down he knew this had already happened.
- Dois garotos (Two boys)? - asked the father, with a masked smile on his face.
- Sim, ele (Yes, they)... Aaaahhh!
The boy did not have time to respond, since his father gave him a belt on his leg that made him scream in pain and start to cry.
- Mentiroso (Liar)! - shouted Calvin - Mentiroso! Eu sei que você estava com aquele urso e aquela raposa. Eu não o proibi de se encontrar com eles? Já lhe ensinaram como mentir para o próprio pai (Liar! I know you were with that bear and that fox. Did not I forbid you to meet them? Have you been taught how to lie to your own father)?
Hector was crying with fear at the sight of his father's reaction. He had never seen him like this before, and he did not know what he would be capable of, even more so after the story Frank had told him earlier.
Calvin had lost control after everything that had happened. He was very angry with the bears and very angry with his son.
- Seu mentiroso, confesse que você estava com eles (You liar, confess you were with them)! - he yelled, grabbing Hector by the collar.
- Eu estava (I was)! - replied the boy, weeping with terror - Me desculpe (I'm sorry)!
- Você traiu minha confiança (You betrayed my confidence)! - said the father seriously - Agora trate de ir para seu quarto e fique lá até eu mandar. E amanhã você começará seu treinamento (Go now to your room and stay there until I tell you to. And tomorrow you will begin your training)!
- TT-Treinamento (TT-Training)? - stammered Hector without understanding.
- Cale-se, e vá para seu quarto (Shut up, and go to your room)!
Hector ran toward the bedroom, crying with fear for not knowing what the father was thinking of doing. No sooner had he stepped into his bedroom and threw himself under the bed, heard a key in the lock, and realized that Calvin had locked him. The Chapter 22 of The Confidence Secret is up! ^^

After hearing the story before Care Bear Family, Champ, Confidence and Hector, on the one hand, and Polite, Perfect and Goodluck Bear, on the other hand, reflect on everything they have discovered.
