Hello everyone, you all know me as Dashie Writer, Thomas the writer adopted daughter, or his half daughter which I keep on telling myself. The reason why I’m writing this is I want to tell a little story from my past, I won’t talk a full story of my life, but a certain event that I kept secret to myself. I wanted to tell my dad about it, but the event felt so weird, that I never wanted to talk about it ever again. But I been thinking about it for a long time and my dad always tell me, whenever you feel something you want to say but don’t want to tell anyone, it best to write it down and let the words speak for you. Dad always said the oddest stuff, but he always give me the best advice and I might as well tell it.

Where do I start, I guess around the time my mother Shower Bright pass away, I was still a kid at the time when she was gone and I had no one to comfort me when losing her. I did my best to make a proper burial for her, but being so young and I was the only one doing all of it by myself, it wasn’t easy for me. When I finally lay my mother to rest, I stay at the nearby cave in the deep part of forest, it was the only place I call home, the only thing that had all the good memories with me and mom. Most of the time I manly cry and think about mom a lot, I still remember when she told me about the nice person that took care of her, I always ask her why she never stay with him and become a happy family, but the only answer she told me that, she was afraid to stay and didn’t want to hurt him. Why my mother was afraid to stay with him for, my mom had a lot of secrets that I want to know from her, but now she gone, most of those secrets stay with her. After a year of mourning her death, I started to learn of how to survived on my owned, my mother teach me a lot of things that I need to know, like try to find the right plant to heal my wounds and what sort of food that I can or can’t eat, the number one thing my mother always told me when I was little, that somewhere in the deeper part of the forest, under certain stances that I’m not allow to go there, no matter how curious I was. Whenever I walk pass that deeper part of the forest, I always wonder what beyond there, my mother told me she walk there before, but saw something that scared her, that she was lucky to run away, with her life. I want to go there very badly, to see what it is, but I didn’t want to brake the only promise my mom gave me, so I continue with my life and never walk there, but I do sometime hear and odd laughter though.

A couple of years have passed and I gotten a lot older, on that day was my birthday and I was ready to celebrated with my mom, I pick some plants and berries for a nice picnic and eat by my mother grave and chat with her a little, I start to look around the cave and see if I need to take something with me, when I look at my mother old belonging, I notice there was an old photo of her and the nice person that help my mom, before I mom pass, I always wanted to meet him and I was determine to find him and tell him that he was my daddy and I love him very much, but I was a kid then, but my determination never change. I wasn’t sure if I want to take the picture, but I took it with me and place it in the picnic basket. I left the cave and start heading for mom grave, hoping that she be excited to see me. I walk for a while and was almost reach for her grave, but then I relies something important, which I should had remember. I forgot to pick some flowers for her and the nice location to pick some was at the other side of the woods, I want to head there, but my mother grave was close and I didn’t feel like walking that fun. While I was sitting on the grass and come up and idea, I heard an odd laughter again, it was the same laughter I heard years ago. I pick up my basket and follow the noise and see where it was coming from. Once I followed it, it lead me to the deeper part of the forest, which my mother told me to never to go, I was plan to not to go in there, but the laughter was kept on going, like someone want me to enter there. I close my eyes for a moment and apology to mom, letting her know that I have to brake her promise, since my curiosity was far too great and I needed to know who it was, so I look down the path of the deeper part of the forest, I enter inside it and didn’t look back.

Once inside the deeper part of the forest, I started to feel a bad present in this place, I look at the trees and saw that most of the leaves on them were gone, there should have been leaves on them, since it was the middle of the summer, but this place must be different, like entering an alternate world. I kept on going, searching for the strange laughter and hope to see who it belong to. When I reach the end point of the path, there was an open entrance in front of me, when I look at the entrance, I start to notice that it was man made, the bushes was shape like a doorway and two stone pillar were holding them up from the ground. I was curious of the design of them, since it was the first thing that was different to me, I wanted to touch them and see how they feel, but when I heard something again, at first I thought of laughter, but instead a woman voice was calling me. I turn around and see who it was and I was right from the start, the voice was indeed belong to a woman, but she was someone I never seen in the forest before. My mother told me about humans that walk in two feet and wear clothing, but the woman I’m looking at was some sort of animal, her face was some kind of goat figure and she was wearing a long cloak dress. I tilt my head and look at her funny and she was copying me as well, I was plan to say something to her, but she went first and start asking me some question.

Mysterious person: excuse dear, but who are you?

Dashie: um I was going to ask you the same thing, can you tell me who you are.

Mysterious person: of course I would, but I need to know if you’re a friend … or foe

Dashie: what happened if I answer wrong?

Mysterious person: nothing will happened to you my child, I just need to know is all

Dashie: then I guess friend then, if you’re friendly as well.

Toriel: then I’m glad your friendly, my name is Toriel and what your name my child

Dashie: well my name is Rainbow Dash, but you can call me Dashie for short

Toriel: Dashie you say, what a lovely name you have their my dear

Dashie: thank you, my mother wanted me to keep Rainbow Dash, but it was too long and figure Dashie be fine, she didn’t like it at first, but she got over it.

Toriel: well your mother wanted what best for you, but if you want my opinion, Dashie is a lovely name. Now what brought you out here, I never seen someone like you around here before, especially a young mare walking by herself

Dashie: I’m old enough to take care myself Toriel, I was walking around the woods minding my owned business, until I heard some laughter. I been following it for a while and it lead me here, to this strange pathway.

When I told Toriel my side of the story of why I’m doing here, she and I heard the laughter once more, she stare the doorway and I can see fear in her eyes. She look at me and try to change her subject and speak of something else.

Toriel: are you sure you heard something else, maybe it could have been your imagination

Dashie: if it was my imagination, then why I can still hear laughter from that pathway?

Toriel: the pathway sometimes make a lot of noise, make you think there someone laughing, now why not come with me for a moment Dashie, there something I want to show you.

Dashie: I wish I go with you, but my mother told me to never go anywhere with stranger

Toriel: that good that you listen to your mother advice my dear, but I’m not a stranger to you

Dashie: I know you’re not, but then why you try to take me away of someplace else, instead of telling me about the laughter, that coming from the pathway.

Toriel: and I’m telling you there nothing there

Toriel was starting to sweat and acting a little nervous of something, the more I ask her about the pathway, the more she try to change the subject, but I was determine to get the answer out of her and I want to know why she was afraid to give me a straight answer. I going to ask her the same question, but I stop from answering, when I heard the laughter again, but this time it was a lot louder than before. I was drawn into it and want to enter the pathway and see who it was laughing and why it been laughing all this time, when I head for the pathway and see where it lead, Toriel walk in front of me and block my way. I look at her and see her face was serious, but her eyes was desperation, I was trying to get through, but everywhere I try, she stay determine to block my path. I was getting annoyed and I try to speak to her and ask why she doing this.

Dashie: why are you doing this for Toriel?

Toriel: to protect you Dashie

Dashie: to protect me from what?

Toriel: please Dashie, just turn around and don’t come back here, this is your only good.

Dashie: I’m not leaving here, until I know what going on.

Toriel: …………. Do you really want to know that badly?

Dashie: yes

Toriel: are you really serious of wanting to know what behind me

Dashie: more serious of wanting to know who my father is.

Toriel: ……….. I was afraid you would say that. Very well then, I let you enter, but be warn

Dashie, what you’re going to see, will harm you and the truth it speak, will rip your spirit.

Dashie: why you warning me all this?

Toriel: because few have walk the same path like you, but all of them never come out from there and I don’t want you to suffer the same faith as they did.

I was wondering of what she meant by that, but she didn’t say a word, but step out of my way and gave me access to the pathway. I look at her and then start walking down the pathway, I start to hear her crying, knowing something bad will happen to me, I wanted to go back and hug her, but I need to know and I won’t stop, until I got my answer.

The pathway was long and almost took forever to reach the end, but once I see a light at the end, I was happy the long walk was over. At the end of the pathway I look and see an open room, the place look like a nice green house, with lots of plant and trees growing around the place. I wanted to explore more of this place, but I need to concentrate and find the one who been laughing all this time. I didn’t need to search any further, when I hear the laughing came back again, I start to listen where it coming and when I found the source of it the laughter was coming from a field of flowers. I didn’t understand when I got there, I was looking for someone been laughing, but all I found was a field of flowers, with no one in sight, I started to feel frustrated of the whole thing and wanted to kick something, when I was about to leave the field of flowers, a simple voice whisper to me and stop me from walking. I turn around and look at the field of flowers again, I try to look closely and see where the voice it coming, when I though I couldn’t find them, the voice call me one more thing and tell me to look below, so I did and the odd part that I couldn’t believe my eyes. Out of all the flowers this one particular had a voice and happy one at that, I try to clear my eyes, thinking I was going crazy, but no matter how much I do that, I still looking at it. The flower started to laugh at me, the same laugh I been hearing since I got here, could this flower be the one I been searching for or am I starting to loosed my insanity. The flower stop laughing for a quick moment, so it could try to talk to me, I felt weird that a flower could talk, but meeting Toriel who was a goat monster, things can’t be weirder than what I’m looking at now.

Flowey: howdy, my name is Flowey, Flowey the flower, it so nice to finally meet you Dashie

Dashie: how … how you know my name, I didn’t even get the chance to introduce myself.

Flowey: oh I know a lot about you Dashie, the young mare that live in the woods by herself, without her precious mommy to protect you.

Dashie: …… why are you talking to me like that?

Flowey: I’m sorry, I sometimes forget that I need to control myself of what I say, but whatever I say is the real hard truth.

Dashie: ………. Who are you and you better tell me the real truth

Flowey: like I said before Dashie I’m Flowey the Flower and the only truth you want to hear, that I’m here to help you

Dashie: help me of what?

Flowey: to help you gain something you lost

Dashie: I haven’t lost anything

Flowey: *he wink* of course you have Dashie and you can’t denied of what I’m saying

I knew what the flower was going to say, if Flowey knew who I am, then he know that my mother is not with me anymore. Part of me want to know what Flowey really want, but deep inside, whatever he going to say, might help free me from my sadness.

Dashie: if you already know what I lost, how exactly you’re going to help me

Flowey: that easy Dashie, I have a special talent that many people don’t have, I could reset everything and pretend the event you once been through, never happen at all.

Dashie: how so?

Flowey: think about it Dashie, you lost your mother to an unknown illness and you spent years mourning her death, what if I tell I can reset everything and make it that your mother was still alive, like whatever happen to her, was nothing more but a dream

Dashie: you could do that, you could bring my mom back for me

Flowey: *he smile* of course Dashie, all I want to do is make you happy again, but in order for me to do that, I only need one little favor from you.

Dashie: what kind of favor?

Flowey: it nothing big really, it just a simple favor that I always ask everyone

Dashie: and that favor is?

Flowey: in order to bring your mother back, you have to stay here with me … forever

Dashie: what kind of favor is that?

Flowey: *he laugh* I knew you’re going to say that, but it nothing bad of a deal if you ask me. Sure it sound bad at first, but in the end of it, you will be with your mother again.

Dashie: sure that true, but I don’t want to stay here forever

Flowey: think about it Dashie, you be with your mom and be a happy family once more, sure you will give up your freedom forever, but on the bright side, you will never feel lonely ever again.

No matter how much I don’t want to hear it, but flowy made so many point for me, I was tired being alone and not have my mom at my side, I was tired sleeping by myself and not have her warm me up from the cold, there so much emotion inside of me want to break out in tears, but I couldn’t do it. I didn’t look at Flowey for a while, but I started to notice that he move a couple of inches, he was at the center of the flower of field before, but each time I don’t look at him, he move several more inches and get a lot closer to me. I finally stop thinking for a moment and see that Flowey was right in front of me, he show his happy smile to me, prepare to say something to me, I felt my heart start to beat fast, knowing that something bad going to happen, I should listen to my head and don’t make this deal, but I see Flowy as someone that I can trust and I should give him a chance.

Flowey: so Dashie, are you willing to stay here with me and be with your mother again.

Dashie: I …. I’m not sure, at first I want to see my mother, but giving up my freedom is still a hard choice for me to make.

Flowey: come now Dashie, have you ever have the determination of getting what you want from the world.

Dashie: ……. Not really

Flowey: don’t try to deny it Dashie, deep inside you want to blame the world for taking your mommy away from you and deep inside your heart you know what I say is true, when you need someone to cry their shoulder on, there no one but yourself.

Dashie: ……….

Flowey: now I’m doing you a big favor here Dashie, just accept my deal and everything you want, will come your way.

I was afraid to accept Flowey deal, but after hearing those words make perfect sense, I been blaming the world for taking my mother away from me and I should get what I want, but yet part of me didn’t want to do that. I don’t know why, but deep inside my heart, somewhere outside from this forest, there someone I want to meet and that someone might be my true Determination in life, but I was too coward to actually express my feeling about it. I look at Flowy and see that he was waiting patiently for my answer, I thought it through and I finally decide of what I wanted, Flowy almost smile that I was going to make, but it face expression change in second, when I walk away from him. Flowy feel disappointed of making a bad choice and start asking me of why.

Flowey: Why Dashie, why would you make a poor choice

Dashie: I know what you said would make me happy, but I can’t accept it

Flowy: why not, you could have everything you wanted, having your mother back in your life, never feel alone ever again, all you had to do is choose to stay here.

Dashie: that what it Flowey, if I choose to stay with you, I will have my mom back, but I will never able to keep a promise I made to myself.

Flowey: what sort of promise?

Dashie: the promise was simple, that when I finally free myself from the burden sadness, I could leave this forest and try to search my dad at the human world

Flowey: your dad, why you care so much about your dad, I bet you don’t even know what he look like

Dashie: your right what you say, I may not know what he look like, but if someone took great care of my mom, then I’m going to find him and hope he accept me as his daughter.

Flowey: ……… *he laugh a little* your really are an idiot you know that, you’re going to give up everything, just so you keep a silly promise like that.

Dashie: it may be silly to you, but that my true determination and if you don’t like it, then find someone else that would accept your silly offer.

I waited to see if Flowey was going to do something terrible, I try my best to be ready for anything and prepare waited for the worst, Flowy close it eyes. I see Flowy eyes were close and it started to tear, I never knew that a flower could shed tears like that, but it wasn’t a normal flower in the first place. I approach it and see what the matter, until burst open it eyes in pure pitch darkness and start yelling at me

Flowey: go away you miserable fool

Dashie: *she fell on the ground*

Flowey: if you don’t want my deal that fine with me, but remember this Dashie, once you leave this forest the humans will see you nothing more but a monster

Dashie: why you think that?

Flowey: because I know firsthand. I wasn’t like this before Dashie, I was once real with a body and soul and think just like you. I walk to the human world to bring back a friend I lost and at first I thought the humans accept me, but all they see me nothing more but a monster and attack me on sight, now I’m nothing more but a Flower that live alone in this garden.

Dashie: so what you’re trying to say

Flowey: don’t you get it, it a kill or be killed world out there, the humans won’t accept you of who you are and I bet the father your looking will be the same way like them. Stay here where it safe, take my offer and you never be alone again.

Dashie: and if I don’t?

Flowy: then you will suffer like the others that came here

Dashie: ………… then do it

Flowey: ………what?

Dashie: I said do it, if you want me to suffer like the others, then I might always accept the same fate like them

Flowey: what are you doing, you should be accepting my offer, not wasting your life away

Dashie: I rather waste my life away freely, then being trap in this miserable place with you.

Flowey wasn’t please of what I said to it, Flowy was plan to attack me and take my life away and make me one of his many victim that was trap in this place, never see the light of day, except their souls being free. I waited to see him try to harm me, but Flowey haven’t made a single move, except yelling at me a while ago. Flowey look at me with an angry look but when I look at it eyes, it was the eyes of desperation, part of me start to feel sorry for him, but he try to take my life away if I don’t choose his way, but yet somehow I still feel sorry for what he done. I look at Flowy once more and then he turn his back and speak once more.

Flowey: go

Dashie: huh?

Flowey: just go away and never come back, I never want to see your face again

Dashie: you sure about your choice

Flowey: don’t make me say it again Dashie, just leave me alone

I wanted to know why he just let me go like that, was it something I said to him that reach a certain nerve that tick him off or he finally face someone that had much greater determination. There so many question I could ask Flowy, but the look of him, he wasn’t in an answering mood.

I started to walk down the same pathway I enter before, it felt like forever the first time I walk through it, but since I know where it lead, that feeling wasn’t there anymore. Once I finally found the end of the Pathway I was back to the strange forest again, I look around to see if Toriel was still here, waiting to see if I came back, but there was no sign of her at all. I kinda figure she wasn’t coming back, Toriel did try to warn me of not entering that pathway, but my curiosity was too great and the laughter was so annoying, I needed to know. But after learning who it was and what Flowy false promise he try to give me, I was lucky to escape there alive. After I done looking for Toriel, I was about to head back where my home was, until I heard something from the pathway again, at first I thought it was Flowey laugher again, but this laughter was more sadness. I listen to the pathway and hear the crying even more, the tone of his voice had change from a monster to a young child crying his eyes out. My gut telling me that I should go back there and see what he was crying about, but my mind was forcing me to move away from there and head back home, where Flowy won’t try to harm me again. Both my mind and body try to make the right decision, but neither of them wasn’t helping and having a hard time to think straight. After fighting myself and finally gain the answer, I finally gain the confident and walk through the pathway once more, knowing that I going to risk my life again.

The further I walk through the pathway, the closer I get to hear the crying, the sound of tears got louder by the second and once I finally reach the end of the pathway, I was able to see who was making those tears. Once I look at the field of flowers, I was hoping to see Flowey, but instead a young boy, when I look at the boy closely, he was more like a goat creature, just like Toriel. Was this goat kid a child of hers, but never said that she had any kids or she could be a close relative of hers and he went missing a long time ago. My mind was asking a thousand question and I still look at the kid crying his eyes out, I wanted to try and cheer him up somehow and I know what need to be done. I start to walk towards him and see if I could try to speak to him once more, when I finally approach the field of flowers, the young goat boy sense I was there and finally stop crying, he stood up from the ground and spoke in an anger but calm voice.

Young goat boy: I thought I told you to never come back here again.

Dashie: I know you did, but when I heard you crying from the pathway, I had no other choice but to come back here and see if you’re alright

Young goat boy: ….. Thank you for your concern, but you made a terrible mistake of coming back

Dashie: what make you think I made a terrible mistake?

Young goat boy: because I’m not even sure I … I mean Flowey won’t let you go next time.

Dashie: then tell me something, are you going to hurt me for Flowey sake

Young goat boy: ……. No, part of me don’t want to hurt you

Dashie: *she try her best to get near to him* do you feel like talking instead

Young goat boy: I guess, but are these question you’re going to ask me about bringing your mother back to life.

Dashie: not anymore, I just want to know you more is all. By the way, what your name.

Asriel Dreamur: Asriel, Asriel Dreamur

I finally learn what his real name was, Asriel felt a little comfortable with me and talk more about his past life. I learn a lot about his parents, which one of them I was able to meet was Toriel, I wanted to let him know that I was able to see his mom, but the look in his eyes that he haven’t seen her for many years. He also told me about the friend he once made was a human from the surface world, he and his parents accept him as part of their family and they all live happily. The more I learn about Asriel the happier I get to know him better, when I was about to ask him of how he became a flower, he stood silent. I see that his eyes was staring down the ground and eyes were coming tearing up again, whatever happen to him that made him a flower, must the been the hardest event to deal on his own. I got near to him and gave him a comfort hug to calm him down a little, something my mom would do for me, Asriel was able to accept my hug and hug me back as well. We hug each other for a little while until we break free and one of us able to talk.

Asriel dreemurr: thank you for the hug um

Dashie: you could call me Dashie that the name Flowey know.

Asriel Dreemur: that right Dashie was your name, sorry about that, I sometimes forget certain memories when I first met someone, but when I become the Flower, most of my memories wipe out and I start forget them.

Dashie: why you forget them, you remember your mom and dad and the other people you know and you still remember the best friend you once had, if you still have the memories of them, why should you forget easily of when you met someone a moment ago.

Asriel Dreemur: …… I wish I could explain it to you better Dashie, but it not easy for me to say. The memories of my parents, my friend and everyone I know, they the only piece that keep me this way, if I forget about them, I be nothing more the monster you saw earlier, the monster that enjoy tormenting the innocent and have a good laugh out of it. *he start to cry again* I always hate myself for the thing I done, but most of the time I can’t control myself.

Dashie: hey Asriel, I forgive you for what you try to do earlier, you had the chance to harm me earlier and take what you wanted, but you didn’t, you know I had something within myself and let me go freely. At first I been questioning about that for a little while, but now I know deep inside of you, there still goodness and someday, that goodness will set you free.

The smile I see from Asriel face, it was the first happy smile I seen for a long time, he must the been so sad for a long time, that he been waiting for someone like me to make him feel happy again, he came close to me for the first time and hug me back, the hug felt warm the first time and I was able to sense that he was feeling better again. After the hug I start to get from the floor and plan to head out from the garden and find my way back home, before I plan to leave Asriel, I speak to him one last time and give him some comfort words.

Dashie: are you going to be ok by yourself?

Asriel Dreemur: don’t worry about me, after spending some time with, I be ok on my own, I be a lot happier than before.

Dashie: glad to hear it, if I ever have the chance to visit, I will try to come up some fun story to tell.

Asriel Dreemur: that would be nice, but before you go Dashie, there something I want to tell you.

Dashie: what is it?

Asriel Dreemur: it may not be much, but I know where your father could be, not your real dad, but the one that took care your mother.

Dashie: ……. Really, you know where he could be, but how

Asriel Dreemur: like I said before, I know a lot going on in this forest, but do you want this information or not.

Dashie: I do, thank you.

Asriel did his best to explain of where my father could be, he was right that my dad live in the human world, but he wasn’t far for me to find him. I thanks Asriel for the information and start running through the pathway and head for the human world and find my dad once more.

That was mostly it that I remember of him, after I found my dad, I haven’t seen him or Toriel for a long time. I still think about them every now and then, always wonder what they are up to and hope they doing alright, but I know one thing for sure, that Asriel will have greater determination to be happy again and someday to be with the one that love him the most.
