My co-worker brandy was sick today, and she's one of the local fans of my comic and other artwork. So, on dinner break, I sketched out a fast picture of Amy hugging her Dad.
Since you're from Canada, could you tell me what the major differences are between a Canada lynx and a bobcat? I know the lynx is larger (and the bobcat ain't no slouch for size) but, other than that and maybe their paw size, I really can't tell the difference which is why, so far, I haven't created a lynx or bobcat character.
Oh, BTW, this is a very cute drawing. Amy loves her dad, doesn't she?

Mmm, colour range differences, slightly larger in size, longer ear tufts than a bobcat. Maybe a bit floofier too. Making the dad a Canadian lynx versus the wife and kids, who are a Golden Lynx variety, is a small nod to my local country.
Where Amy is resting her forehead is where Dads' snout recedes to his cheek. It looks a little funny, but on paper, it's a little hard to edit things. If I redo this in the future I'll work harder on such details. This was just a quick sketch at work, so I expect a few slips and errors. Glad a few of you think this is cute!

I know what you're saying about the Dad's snout. A cat's muzzle is so short compared to a dog's that it's hard to draw it with the proper definition of the cheeks. Be that as it may, this is still a very good drawing and you did quite well showing Amy nuzzling her dad.
Oh, and thanks for the info about the differences between Canada lynxes and bobcats. All I knew for certain was that lynxes are northern cats and are never seen very far south in the US.
