That 40 Meg MFM drive was -1 version with the "screaming" 8 mS seek time. It was the equivalent of "Two miles, in the snow, uphill. Both ways." I remember selling an ancient IBM PC at the swap meet and a prospective customer asked me "how fast is it?" I suggested that they should, instead, ask me how slow it is. "Ok, I'll bite, how slow is it?" "Slower than dog shit turning white in the backyard."
