(no this does not mean sex. It's the roman numeral for 30)
Zonic grinned at the question and handed the other his phone, leaning back in his seat. "You just want me to flatter you." He joked, looking over Scourge's shoulder to watch what he was doing. "It's been a... growing thing. First I felt protective of you because you've been treated unjustly...and unfairly. Maybe also a little bit because you're another Sonic... seeing any Sonic having his leg kicked until it breaks just... does something to you. Or at least to me. In the first place I never hated you. You're a criminal. I'm a cop. I disapprove of your actions but I'd be a bad cop if I didn't believe in rehabilitation, in redemption. I believe everyone deserves a second chance. So despite my job and morals clashing with your...everything, I never had a reason to hate you. You're just... work. " He mused, watching Scourge scroll down some website he wasn't in the least interested in.
"I think the moment I started to ... feel something for you was when, in the first week that you spent with me I let you out on my balcony. There was something about you enjoying the outside, that made it impossible for me to stop watching you. I think it may have something to do with how I grew up. I never really had that... freedom that every Sonic needs like air in their lungs. In fact I was scolded for running at sonic speeds in the house. As a teenager I got lots of house arrests because my grades were dropping. It's not that I hate my life. I love my job. It's exactly what I want to do and I worked hard to get where I am today... but there's a part of me that wants to...run. And you on my balcony, you looked so caged while staring into the distance... It was painful to watch. I wanted to let you run right then and there, it hurt so much. So I think that's when I started to feel sympathy for you. Because I understand... the feeling of being caged. Even though my cage is an entirely different one and I never had the kind of freedom you had so I don't miss it -as- much."
He looked up as the waitress came to bring their meals and pushed one of the plates in front of Scourge.
"So. Protectiveness. Sympathy... and then, curiosity, thrill, addiction… love. You just make me -feel-. Because you're dangerous. It gives me thrills that I don't get anywhere else. I can surrender control to you, be weak, be a mess,... let you take over completely. It's freeing. Even if you're cruel and a lot of the things you do are painful... I-" He felt heat rise in his cheeks again and turned his face away from scourge a little. "I like the way you make me want to surrender. I got addicted to it. Y-you could have killed me so many times and I wouldn't have done anything to fight back. I may just be a masochist but you make me feel so alive. Not just...the sex... mind you. But everything. Ziles, Zamy, Zally and Zhadow worried about the injuries you gave me but I... like them. I'm almost sad they're healing." He tugged on his own shirt, revealing the healing bite mark. "I don't want it to disappear. I need it to scar. Because it’s proof of your possessiveness over me. Proof that you wanted me." His face was on fire again at this point and he was quiet for a moment before softly adding a slightly desperate sounding "Shit I'd rather eat you than the steak now..." His face was hidden behind his hands again. It wasn't hard to say all these things. He wasn't even overly embarrassed. But fuck if talking about it all didn't make him want to take Scourge back home right now and lock both of them into the bedroom for the rest of the day and night.
"L-long story...short. Being around you just makes me feel... more like ‘me’, than I've ever felt before. It may be a bit selfish but.. is that good enough a reason to fall in love?" He had to let go of his face or the food would get cold and that was such a waste.
Scourge kept his nose pointed to the phone, deciding to try and check some of his accounts, though he was unable to access. Scourge was a little bit surprised, his accounts were blocked. Maybe it was being in a different dimension or something. It wasn’t as though he got a lot of people that felt concern for him, he wasn’t very popular in any way. There would’ve been more rejoicing that he was gone and out of their lives than anything, but it wasn’t hitting him the way he thought it would. Scourge prided himself on needing no one, on making a name for himself and being what he felt he needed to be. He was proud of his accomplishments even at the cost of other’s expenses. So all of these revelations just felt like another tuesday. He wasn’t offended, moreso he expected that kind of shit. He wanted to check the blogs of Prime Sonic and all his ilk, them having such nice lives and being so loving and caring and displaying that for everyone to see… it was a little irritating. Some pros to not being able to access his stuff brought him some kind of peace without having to see that. But he still felt so disconnected. No access to his personal accounts just to see how others he knew and maybe cared for was a little unsettling. He didn’t know if Fiona was okay, if people he worked with were doing anything interesting, not even if Sonic was having a good or bad time. He was in a place he wasn’t used to, away from familiarity… Maybe that was okay, he could start new here…
The words coming out of Zonic’s mouth were sort of beginning to stick. Anytime before all this, he probably wouldn’t have cared as much or would pass it off as the cop being too soft, but he knew these words had meaning. Zonic was explaining himself, telling him the moments this feeling appear and the chain of emotions he went through just from watching Scourge on the balcony. Sure, that moment was probably the most amount of peace he’d had in years, but the impact it had on Zonic was so unheard of. The spiral downward into this whole ‘love’ thing made no sense and yet it did all at once. Why did this evoke such a feeling in Zonic? Why was Scourge… happy about it? The blaring differences between Fiona and Zonic were something he couldn’t help but make. It always went back to her, it always came back to ‘Fiona did it this way’. Yet he could at least see that one big difference was fiona never confessed being in love with him.
This stuff stuck onto him, he never had someone confess to him even for all his flaws and shitty behavior. While Fiona simply expressed feelings for him simply because he was a bad guy, Zonic was able to accept it and look past it… Being bad wasn’t all Scourge was and for some reason that weirded him out. The personification of ‘Anti’ and yet here was another version of himself that didn’t just focus on that particular thing about him. His scrolling through random websites became a little odd, as he couldn’t even think of what to visit so just clicking on random links was all he could do. He needed to move his fingers while listening to this. It was… different. He still couldn’t understand why Zonic was in love with him, but it was something he’d hold onto, tightly.
Scourge put the phone done, for once the sexual hints weren’t the reason he felt… affectionate. He heard them, sure, and having the food in front of him was also something ne noticed but didn’t much care for at the moment. He was sure he wasn’t ‘in love’ but he damn sure felt a strong attachment to this blue idiot. He turned to the other, not really caring about the fact they were in public or around anyone else. That shit didn’t seem to matter, as the world around him was all muffled out. He was frowning, studying Zonic’s face and features, mind drawing a blank as to what about him really got him so … interested. Scourge scooted closer, cornering Zonic up against the booth wall. He raised his hand to cup Zonic’s cheek, leaning in to kiss him but stopped.
“... Hm… we…. We should eat.” He moved back, cheeks a bit pink. “... If i do anything, I won’t be able to stop myself… eat your salad, weirdo.” He couldn’t put his finger on it and it was frustrating. Scourge pulled up the steak by his fork, sinking his teeth into the meat and ripping off a piece. His face just got more and more red as he ate.
There was a lot of things he was expecting. Scourge scoffing. Scourge ignoring him. Scourge poking fun at him. Scourge dismissing his feelings. Anything... but what he actually got. The other moving closer already made his ears perk up and his head turn but the hands cupping his cheeks were so gentle it was as if time stopped around him. His eyes wanted to close automatically as Scourge leaned in but he stopped and withdrew his hands.
"Yeah." Zonic only now noticed that he'd been holding his breath. Quickly he focused on his own meal. His face was still burning but at least Scourge was blushing too now, so it was at least a little less embarrassing. He started cutting his own steak into pieces that were as equal in size and shape as possible and rearranged his plate so the different foods didn't touch each other anymore before he actually started eating.
His heart was thumping so hard against his ribcage that he was afraid it'd be visible from the outside. He was almost tempted to check that it wasn't. Scourge being so gentle with him was... confusing. And it was melting him away. Heck, he felt if Scourge just decided to pet his head for a little he'd be on cloud nine and above. The reality of just -how much- he'd fallen for the green hedgehog crashed into him almost painfully in this moment. The steak was eaten before he even realized that he'd been eating. He couldn't even remember the taste.
He felt mildly regretful that he hadn't been paying attention to Scourge's reaction to the food but then he just got a reaction to something else that was much more intriguing.
Scourge was being gentle with him. He was quiet. He showed restraint. He cared. This was all new. These were all good things too. Something between them had changed since this morning. Something was different. It wasn't just the fact that he understood his own feelings a little better now and could actually act on them. Or that Scourge had lost their bet and had been forced to admit that he sort of liked what they had with each other. No. He felt like he'd reached a part of Scourge that was mostly untouched. A part of him that he had to treasure very dearly. There was good in Scourge. He was probably never going to be a hero or even just show basic manners... but he was no monster. There were parts to him that were fragile and gentle and affectionate.
This was definitely something Zonic wouldn't forget, even if today was the first and last day he got to see this part of Scourge. He knew it existed, now. He was not going to forget about it.
He looked down on his empty plate before raising his head again to look at the criminal next to him. "Do you still want to see a movie?"
This meal had become so quiet suddenly. It felt as if it wasn’t supposed to be this way but it was strangely comfortable. He didn’t get why, but it was welcomed for now. Scourge kept ripping into his steak, his mouth having gotten messy until he was all done. He wiped his mouth, looking down at his plate as he cleared it of fries. This was weird, he didn’t want it to be quiet this long… but Zonic was also just finishing his stuff. He needed to move now otherwise he’d start getting mega fidgety again. Thankfully Zonic seemed to speak up just in time. Thank Chaos.
He was about to respond, mouth opening up just to tell him, ‘sure’ but looking at Zonic again with that red face…
“I doubt we’ll watch it.” He said with a very flat tone. He was so tempted to fuck in some place around this mall. Whether it be in the bathroom or the theater, he didn’t care. He just felt an intense surge of -need- to express this weird feeling he had in his chest. It didn’t seem or feel like love… he didn’t think so, but the attachment, again, was just too strong to ignore. He wanted to understand it but he only knew how to express himself in sex, making out… inappropriate touching and just being overall gross. There wasn’t much that made sense in just being cuddly and affectionate, sweet and sickenly wide eyed at his companion. He just didn’t -get- that kind of stuff. Passion was best showed through intense action that was raw in every sense. He enjoyed that more, meant something to him. And just to think he was close to not having it because he didn’t… well -couldn’t- see that it wasn’t as big of a deal as he made it to be… well, now it wasn’t. He didn’t know anyone here, he didn’t have to explain himself. The No Zone was his home for now so he can be a different Scourge than what he was when he lived on Anti-Mobius. Sure… that seemed valid for now.
“I’m gonna be frank, I’d probably fuck you senseless the moment we’re alone, but … If you wanna try watching a movie, sure.” He rubbed his cheek again, turning away. His spines began to ruffle up again, he looked prickly all over. “I swear to Chaos I can’t… stop being this … addicted to touching you… It’s stupid. I don’t know how else to show… whatever this feeling is.” It was sort of scaring him. “Blue, I don’t think I’ve felt this before.. .we should get going though. I’ll say all kinds of stupid shit.” Scourge waited for the waiter to come by, placing their check down and waited for it to be paid. Afterwards, he got up, limping over to the front of the store. He wanted to touch the other so bad… why? It wasn’t like they were makin sexual advances at one another. Zonic said some stuff that hinted at wanting it but it wasn’t enough to send Scourge into a giant spiral of horniness. He just genuinely wanted to be close in the only way he knew how. “Fuck..” He kept placing the back of his hand on his muzzle, head down and looking away from the other. His other hand clenched and unclenched here and there. He could actually hear the way he was speaking, low and almost serious. It was very different from his loud usual self… this change was really odd.
On the opposite side of the hall, Zhadow was coming out of an electronics shop. He had just upgraded his phone to a newer model. He was on his lunch, in uniform as he quickly wanted to take care of this as he was also going to get himself some food. He seemed very satisfied, having a few citizens thank him for his service as well as a few other people give him a very dirty look. He didn’t mind, stuffing his wallet back into his pocket his eyes caught onto a familiar blue. Turning just in time to see Zonic and Scourge leaving a restaurant, he felt a bit… disappointed. It’s not like he wouldn’t see the blue hog anywhere throughout the city, but to see the green one was next to him as well? It was better than leaving the criminal unattended but still… This didn’t look like a cop and criminal just out and about, this looked more like a casual outing. He didn’t want to approach… as he already knew this would happen. He knew Zonic would end up sympathizing with the criminal, knew that even though they had a great night, it’d only go so far in the grand scheme of things. Still, he didn’t fully fault Zonic for having that attachment, it was a month too late to have hoped for some sense to be knocked into him and it seemed like the two were on good terms. It kind of hurt, but he wouldn’t allow it to bother him as much, for now.
Being as detached as he could manage, Zhadow began to walk forward, he wasn’t going to pry, he trusted that Zonic had this under control to an extent, it just felt wrong that a criminal was supposed to be being bars was being treated to a goddamn nice lunch.
In case Scourge was attempting to make him even more head over heels for him than he already was, he was doing an incredibly good job at it. Zonic swallowed hard at all the things being said to him. He couldn't wrap his head around it. It almost felt like they were a real couple now, just starting out, still unsure about all this feelings stuff. "It's fine... You don't need to say more." He said, half expecting his voice to sound strange but somehow he'd managed to sound more or less normal. A little breathy and with a lower volume than usual, but acceptable.
He paid the bill and followed Scourge outside the Restaurant, slightly worried about his leg. He felt just about as restless as Scourge did and his brain was doing overtime. They couldn't keep walking around, Scourge needed to rest his leg. They could make out in the cinema, but they couldn't actually fuck there. That'd just be -too- obvious. His next thought was the car... but obviously people would be able to see in through the windows and the space in there was limited as well.
He looked at Scourge, scratching the back of his head. "Wh... Where can we go?" He asked quietly. This was just not his area of expertise. Again he was up to doing stupid things as long as Scourge was with him but that didn't mean he was good at it. In fact he still had all kinds of rules and laws in his head that... well... they'd be gone once Scourge started touching him, but they still had to find a place first.
"Just...pick a place." He mumbled. His fingers were fumbling with the hem of his shirt. He knew exactly how Scourge felt. He wanted to touch him so badly, too. If there was a better way to vent and convey feelings, he didn't know it. He just... wanted to be as close to Scourge as possible. He'd do it in a public place. They'd done it once, they could do it again. He didn't mind as much anymore as long as it wasn't super in the open.
Zonic was so focused on Scourge that he didn't see these familiar striped spines pass by them on the other side of the hall. Probably for the better. He'd just have worried again.
That made it harder. This whole thing was becoming difficult to hold on his shoulders as he was becoming more desperate over the idea of fucking in a public place. Zonic wasn’t sure, he’d never really done this before, save for the park that one night. He blinked, looking around, only to see that black and red pattern… The guy was walking across the hall, not giving them attention but oh boy did it set a flame in Scourge that made him feel a little worried. He was caught between so many feelings, wanting to run off with Zonic and escape Zhadow’s presence completely, needing to confront the Elite cop just to make his stance that -he- won, not Zhadow. Maybe even give the guy a smirk and continue on, but Scourge was unsure. He turned to Zonic and frowned.
“That… cop is here.” He said, his voice almost hushed. Zhadow on the other hand was walking into the nearest fast food place, looking at the menu half-heartedly, as he sort of lost his appetite. He didn’t know what to get and the idea of just confronting zonic was nagging him immensely. He crossed his arms, looking back at the entrance to the fast food joint, conflicted if he should make himself known. It was a very difficult decision that went against his own ideals. Part of him wanted to go out there, to make it known he saw them, to let Zonic know he was a little upset and hoped they could fix things for the blue hog so he wasn’t caught in between two guys with one being a goddamn murderous criminal. He had such high morals that conflicted with this, but he also knew it wasn’t his business. Who was he to impose his opinions (no matter how right they were since they came from very right laws), on someone who was just trying to help fix a broken system?
Zhadow looked back again, seeing Scourge at the very corner of the glass. The clothing the green hog wore, the fact that he was out and about, his collar (hopefully) hiding under that leather one… He was so upset about this, and in his own heart knew it was wrong but born out of great concern for someone that was suffering. Something like this was too controversial for him, but he had to act on what he felt was best. Both were very real… and very good things. To mind his own business, go on about his day as he was to be back on duty in a bit, or just confront the other two. If he did, he could at least rest easy that things were on the okay side… yes. His feet were heading back, out towards the entrance.
It felt like time was of the essence, Scourge needed to get them both out of there but it was too late. As he grabbed Zonic’s wrist, hurriedly limping forward, they came into contact with Zhadow. Scourge felt his heart skip, he stopped and stepped back, getting behind Zonic.
“I’m protected, okay? You can’t take me back…!”
“...Calm down. I have no reason to… as you’re under the authorization of a fellow officer.” Zhadow said, though his tone was cold. His expression softened when seeing Zonic, but not by much. “Taking the dog on a walk I see?” Scourge’s blood began to boil. This...motherfucker…
Zonic watched the expression on Scourge's face change and at his whispered words he was confused at first. Cop? What cop? And then his face fell as it clicked with him. Scourge was already pulling him along but it was too late.
Suddenly the green one was hiding behind him and he was confronted with Zhadow. This... was awful. The worst possible timing. He'd wanted to tell him calmly over wine and dinner. He'd wanted to do this properly. Zonic was pretty sure his heart stopped beating and for a moment he just looked at Zhadow like a deer in the headlight before he finally caught himself.
"I don't think insulting anyone is necessary, is it, Zhadow?" He said firmly, standing up straighter and stepping in front of Scourge just a little more. "Thank you for last night... I..." He glanced at Scourge who looked about ready to go into fighting stance. "I sorted things out... it wasn't what I expected but..." How was he gonna word this? He was not in the least prepared for any of this. Not mentally and not physically. He felt like if he took a wrong step right now his legs would just give in.
"I was gonna write you later. I just didn't want to bother you while at work. If you don't mind... I'd still like to take you up on that offer of wine and explain things to you properly?" He felt like he'd never been this nervous before in his entire life. He'd gone from relaxed, with butterflies in his stomach and an urge for public sex with Scourge to being so stressed he wanted to cry in a matter of seconds and his body wasn't coping well with it.
And what made it even worse was the fact that...this hurt. This was painful. Why was it painful. Again he was reminded that the dark hedgehog before him was -clearly- the better option as a partner. But whenever he looked at Scourge there was just... no way that feeling could be ignored. "Give me a chance to explain it." he said more quietly. Chaos, why was it so hard to hold Zhadow's gaze.
The insult came out thanks to his already personal attachment to the blue officer, but he held his tongue, trying his best to comply with them.
“Apologies…” He said, looking to the side but then met eyes with Zonic as he watched him speak up. A damn shame. This could’ve become something so.. Perfect, a powerful couple and yet trash like Scourge was what caught his late night lover’s eyes and heart. Though it was still a bit too early to really go after these feelings, Zhadow knew his one night experience wasn’t enough to cause him to go stupid, but he did feel affected more than he had bargained for. Still, he was going to be professional and calm, nodding along. Scourge grabbed Zonic’s shoulders, watching the Elite closely. He wanted to fight him, wanted to rip that smug… mature face right off of him, but he stood his ground, trying his best to behave as he was suppose to. This was harder than it looked.
Zhadow looked down at the floor after Zonic was finished, but he smiled lightly, giving zonic a reassuring glance.
“I’m glad you’re still alright with talking over dinner. You’re still welcomed to come by… but as you have a responsibility behind you, I hope you choose your time wisely. I’m not here to scold you, as i already predicted this would happen. You have very strong feelings for him already, it’s quite silly to believe our one night together would so quickly change your mind. You need not worry about it.” He didn’t know if saying this was the best, but even in uniform he couldn’t be as stern as his mind was screaming at him to be. This was unprofessional, wrong and completely defeating the purpose of ‘prison sentence’. Scourge was walking around like any casual citizen, it was not what the law stood for. But even so, Zonic was doing what he felt was right, protecting a criminal that was so wrongly hurt within jail. And sure, that was noble to take on such a big responsibility, but having caught feelings along the way… bound to happen.
Scourge couldn’t place if zhadow was saying this to piss him off or if Zhadow was just being genuine. The guy was so soft in the voice when talking to the blue hog, so damn proper in his presentation and looked nice in his uniform. He was everything Scourge wasn’t and it was blaringly obvious how much how a better choice Zhadow was. He was so … obviously better in etiquette, stature… just any ol’ thing that came to mind. It wasn’t fair.
“Even so… I would like to talk to you about the Zone Jail trial. I’d like to help in it. Your cause to redeem the authority within that place is admirable. I’ve been researching the place quite a bit at the office today and.. There are no records of any foul play… but you having seen with your own eyes that there was injustice within those walls, I’d like to help.” He nodded, “Maybe there is something my department can help with… but that can be discussed over that promised dinner.” He looked at Scourge, a small frowned formed but he tried to seem as blank faced as he could. His tone was a little more cold. “I’m not a fan of this arrangement, but I have no say so in the matter. I only ask that you behave… If you care so much for Zonic, it will be in your best interests to comply. We may need testimonies from you at some point to further the investigation of Zone Jail. I trust that this past month you’ve changed… enough. Seeing as you’re not doing anything illegal… but as someone that has seen what a good person Zonic is, I ask you not to hurt him. With that I should leave you. Please have a nice day.” He bowed a bit, turning to leave.
Scourge blinked, that was… aggravating. He didn’t like Zhadow being so damn formal about it, showing off how much restraint he had… what an elitist piece of shit. Scourge grumbled from behind Zonic, moving beside his companion and grabbed Zonic’s hand.
“He thinks he’s so fuckin’ cool. Just because he’s a cop too.. Now he wants to care about Zone Jail? Pshh, obviously he just wants to get closer to you. And that fuckin dinner shit??? How about no??”
Zonic's face actually brightened a little as Zhadow offered the help of his department with the Zone Jail trials. To have the elite on his side was more than helpful. So he nodded a little less unhappy about their meeting today. Maybe it was good for something after all. He was going to think about the case in detail before their dinner together so they could discuss it all then. "Thank you." His thanks was genuine. He really -was- thankful. He decided to text Zhadow later tonight to ask for a date and time for said dinner.
He nodded at Zhadow as a goodbye and looked a little startled as his hand was suddenly taken. His head snapped around to look at Scourge again. The criminal's outrage was... cute. He was openly jealous and it was nothing but endearing to the cop. Zonic could feel his heart starting to beat again. "Scourge." He said softly. "Scourge!" And a little louder. "I'll definitely have dinner with him so I can discuss things with him." He linked his fingers with Scourge and gently coaxed him into walking.
He had to get Scourge to think of something else. For now he was glad that Zhadow hadn't instantly tried to take Scourge away from him. That was a good start. His confidence that he could explain himself and gain at least a little approval grew. Even if just a little.
What bothered him was the fact that Zhadow had caught onto his feelings for Scourge (as expected, it was impossible to hide anything from an agent) and the thought that he could never get that close to the striped hedgehog again. Not that Scourge wasn't enough, in fact Scourge was probably more than enough. But there was a part of him that wanted to run after Zhadow. Chaos, he was so incredibly confused about all of his feelings.
He pulled Scourge along into the car park and opened one of the back doors of his car, pulling the criminal inside along with him. With a smile he cupped Scourge's cheeks in his hands. "Be careful... I like it when you're jealous." He joked, feeling a little more relaxed in the safety of his car. Obviously he was -not- going to start provoking Scourge's jealousy willingly. Even though it was true that he liked the feeling of someone acting jealous because of him. But that didn't mean that he was going to be two timing or anything along those lines. He had Scourge. That was all he needed.
"Calm down. It's just one dinner. He's a good guy. He won't do anything pushy. That's your job."
The whole way back to the car, Scourge was just agitated, wanting to fight Zhadow right there and now for being Mr. Proper and Hot. He didn’t like that Zhadow was so… convincing to be so ‘interested’ in the Zone Jail case. He totally wasn’t… he couldn’t be! He was just after Zonic and that was that. And he had the -audacity-!!! To act like Scourge was on the path to hurt Zonic in whatever way Zhadow was saying! Scourge knew he would, by means he didn’t want to, but to hear it from some snotty cop just boiled his blood even more. He kept rambling, ranting about how much he already hated every version of ‘Shadow’, how he would throw down with the guy if he had the chance. He was so gonna cave that guy’s perfect teeth in. And he was so… handsome! No wonder Zonic was so captured by his looks! All of this, all in Scourge’s mind when Zonic barely spoke about Zhadow, but ooooh he could tell, he could just feel that admiration oozing from Zonic’s being. He could tell that the blue cop seeing that fuckin tall dark and handsome hedgehog just captured his heart all over again.
And suddenly he was yanked into the car. He looked around, they were in the car and now he was on top of Zonic, cupping his cheeks and reassuring him. It took Scourge a moment to reply, his mind catching up with his current surroundings. He turned back, closing the back door and gulped. He was going to kick Zhadow’s ass… but if this was gonna help with the jail case, sure.
“One dinner can turn into two, then another night of fucking and all kinds of shit. You probably fall in love fast ya know.” Scourge whined, he was huffy and looking around the parking lot from the safety of the car. He was searching to see if Zhadow was anywhere around, But that was highly unlikely. He wanted to do something to expel this excess energy but as it was, he was only in this car with Zonic and the things on his mind were not as hot and steamy as before. Still, he could find a way to get it out… even if he wasn’t in the mood. He did attempt to calm himself down, rubbing at his spines, a few fell out just from how quickly and roughly he was messing with his head. Scourge needed to stop fidgeting, he was just so amped up on adrenaline from that encounter. This wasn’t comfortable at all, knowing Zhadow was more than a real threat.
It probably made no sense to get so riled up, but he was still paranoid over a lot of things, Zonic being stolen was prime at this time.
“This is weird… He’s not allowed in the house.” It’s not like Scourge had any say so, but he wanted to make the demand anyways. “I’ll make sure he knows not to fuck with me… or you. He can’t fuck you. That’s mine. All mine, okay??” He turned to Zonic, pumped up, ready to take control again. If Zhadow was here, he’d show just how much he owned the other, show off -his- prize to the loser. Scourge shoved Zonic down, getting on top of him and leaned over. “He’s so gonna try to take you from me cause he knows you’re all that’s standing in the way of me going back to Zone Jail! I know he’s gonna try to convince you, Blue. I can feel it… but you’re mine, you’ll protect me, you said you would.” He leaned down, “I’ll kick his ass if he gets anywhere near you in any other way besides business.”
Zonic listened to the other's ranting with a frown. He understood that the other was jealous and possessive and in all honesty it made him feel all warm and fuzzy inside but for the sake of calming Scourge down he couldn't encourage his jealousy further.
"Scourge. Please. I swear you can trust me. I've already decided to be loyal to you. I'm all yours I promise. Even -if- he tries, which is unlikely, I won't let h-Wha!" He was pushed down mid sentence and Scourge was suddenly on top of him making demands. The sort of romantic mood from earlier was clearly gone but... this wasn't too bad either. Just... they were in the car. In a carpark. The windows. But then there was Scourge, telling him over and over again that he belonged to him. That he wasn't gonna share.
He cupped the other's cheeks in his hands pulling him down into a gentle kiss. "I promise I won't let him take you from me no matter what he tries. Though forbidding him to come over to the house is maybe a bad idea... wouldn't it be much easier for you to watch out for me when he's there, instead of sitting at home not knowing what's going on until I come back. That is if there will even be a second dinner after the first. He thought we could be friends, too. He knew more about my own feelings than I did apparently." He ran his thumb over Scourge's cheek.
"You can mark me as much as you want... I'm all yours. I'm well aware that logically he'd be the better choice for a partner. We're all aware of that. But I guess feelings don't follow logic. And I don't mind. I don't feel like I'm losing out at all. And I will -not- send you back to Zone Jail. Calm down. He's not here. It's just me." His voice was soft. He had to calm Scourge down at least a little, even though the mood was gone and tipped into something more aggressive. Which was awfully sad, if he was being honest with himself. He'd really been curious if Scourge would have treated him gently for a little longer if they'd acted on that feelsy mood.
But as things were, all he could do was damage control.
The calmness of Zonic’s voice wasn’t as reassuring as the other may have thought, but the words did get to him. He wasn’t so sure, he was positive Zhadow would be way too good to pass up on if given a choice. Scourge tried to slowly inhale and exhale, wanting logic to seep in despite the fact that they were both running on emotions alone. He leaned down more, holding himself up but the elbows, laying against Zonic from the stomach on down. He grumbled, but the invitation to mark him again.
He perked up a bit, ‘I don't want it to disappear. I need it to scar. Because it’s proof of your possessiveness over me. Proof that you wanted me’. Right. Scourge tilted Zonic’s head to the side, pulling his shirt down and bit down on the same spot. He wasn’t biting as hard as he would during sex, but it was hard enough to leave marks. He was growling, pulling Zonic closer to him by the waist. When he was done, he let go, bits of blood on his teeth. He wiped his mouth and sniffed.
“It’s not as prominent as usual… but if I go any further, this car’s gonna be rocking a lot.” Not that he minded the idea of that in public. But Zonic needed to get them home. He got up, a little calmer now, and satisfied he marked what was rightfully his. “He just ruined everything… the mood was nice and… ugh!” He crossed his arms, leaning back against the car door. That moment they had was really nice, he could barely remember what he was even feeling thanks to that interruption. All he knew was they were both pretty quiet but possibly thinking the same thing. Definitely not something they could just magically re-enact out of the blue. It wasn’t fair! Now all he felt was unwanted excitement and dread for things he really didn’t want to be thinking about. “Guess we can go see that movie… Might actually be able to pay attention to it now, ya know? And I’m not sure going home is best, I’m just restless now.” The plan was to be out all day, right?
Zonic's breath hitched in his throat and turned into a small wince as he felt those teeth sink into his shoulder. Right into the still sensitive healing wound. He closed his eyes for the moment and clung to Scourge. It hurt. Yes. But it was what he wanted. The wound to re-open so it couldn't heal. He -wanted- to belong to Scourge after all.
Still his body automatically relaxed once Scourge let go of him. He could feel his shoulder sting and burn. "He -did- ruin the mood..." He said and there was very clear regret in his voice. He sighed and sat up. "Nothing we can do about it now... but even -I- want to smack him for that." He mumbled and stole another brief kiss from Scourge before climbing to the front of the car. "I'll drive us directly to the cinema... and... if uhm... if you don't feel like going home after we can just stay at a hotel I don't mind. After all we're celebrating your more or less healed leg." He offered while starting the engine, waiting for Scourge to buckle himself in before he actually pulled out of the parking lot and back onto the streets.
The Cinema was a huge shiny building. Very expensive looking and modern. It was also almost empty because most people were at work or in school during this time of the day, and while Zonic let Scourge ponder over whether or not he wanted popcorn, he bought tickets to a some action movie. He faintly recalled Scourge liking those at least a little, and he figured neither of the other options were quite as good. There was a crime movie based on real police files, some fantasy movie for children, two romance movies and one horror movie that he was absolutely not going to watch. Not because it scared him, more because he knew what a dead person looked like and the lack of realism in these movies made him want to set something on fire at the best of times.
With the tickets bought he returned to Scourge's side and because the green one hadn't quite decided yet he just bought popcorn for them to share. As expected the theater was fairly empty, save for two teenagers, a lovey dovey couple and few kids that were clearly skipping School. Zonic grumbled. He had to remind himself that he was not on duty but he really wanted to send these kids to school. "Here go find our seats." He said handing scourge the tickets and the popcorn before he did what he just told himself not to do.
One hushed talk with the kids later the room had 4 people less in it and Zonic felt a bit better about himself, returning to Scourge's side. "Why would kids skip school?" He complained quietly. "They're risking their future."
The idea of eating popcorn was a tough one, as Scourge hated getting kernels stuck in his teeth. They were pretty gross just sitting in the crevices and it was prbably better to get something like chocolate. He was probably giving the poor clerk such a difficult time with coming to a conclusion and going back to not being sure. Though when Zonic came in and bought the popcorn anyways, Scourge opted for candy as well. It was nice to be able to have a full little assortment of snacks at his disposal, not even sure what the movie was going to be but as soon as he saw the title above the door, he was content. He wasn’t super savvy with movies that were out in the No Zone but he was interested in what this movie hard to offer. The media here was a little different than the shit he remembered back at home, but there was an odd charm to it. He couldn’t really understand every joke or pop culture reference, but action movies drowned out all his questions with explosions and guns. He was like a young pre-teen getting excited for his first R-rated movie.
The criminal paid no mind to the other people, only enough to gauge how many bodies were around in case he did get into the mood, which he doubted. Still, sitting at the highest seats away from the people would be the best, he could watch everyone below them and hopefully be subtle enough if he had to be. Why was he plotting out gross things already?? The mood was completely gone, he had to keep focus on the movie and wait till they got home… like a good… boring citizen. He watched Zonic scold the kids for skipping and raised a brow. Jeez, was he ever going to just let shit slide? Well… Scourge was probably the only exception, it was kind of weird to see Zonic at work while in his casual clothing. Speaking of which, it had been quite a while since he’d seen Zonic in uniform for longer than a few minutes. He thought about how slim that outfit made him…
“You really need to just let go. Who cares if the kids were out? They probably hate school… Hell, I skipped all the time.” He slurped up some soda, opening some candy. “You enver skipped school, right? Mr. Goody Two shoes gotta be a cop even out of uniform. You’re hopeless, Blue.” He snickered, but it was… kind of cute that the cop couldn’t help but still do his job even when off. He was so committed and faithful to his morals. Damn.
Zonic outright pouted at Scourge as if he'd expected some sort of affirmation for his actions and words from a criminal, and was now shocked that he didn't get it. "Yeah I guess education isn't needed if you plan on spending your life as a criminal." He grumbled. "I never... went to a school. Well until Police academy that is. I was home schooled. Even if I wanted to skip, which I -didn't- just for the record, I couldn't have." He shrugged and stared at the commercials on screen instead.
Of course he told the kids off. It was wrong to skip. Just because Scourge was a bad example for an adult that didn't mean -he- had to be one too. "You really need to let go." He mimed Scourge's words and his tone of voice with his arms crossed in front of his chest and red colour creeping onto his cheeks. It was a bit startling how easy it was for him to sound -exactly- like Scourge. They were the same after all.
The sound of his own voice being so much like Scourge's actually broke his moping though and he chuckled. "I should prank call Zamy using your voice or something." He chuckled and stole some of Scourge's candy, only to turn it between his fingers and look at it closely. He didn't have that much of a sweet tooth unless he was in a bad mood. In which case he could eat tons of ice cream without ever getting full.
"You think you're gonna enjoy that movie? It was the only one that looked reasonable... unless you're surprisingly into crime movies based on real police files. But I doubt it." His eyes snapped back to the big screen as the lights dimmed and the movie started. He let out a small almost soundless sigh and slid down in his seat a little so he could lean his head against Scourge's shoulder. "Maybe it can still be a nice day..." he was hopeful that they could salvage the day. Make it enjoyable still. Even if that special mood was gone, they could still have a good time just hanging out together. For sure.
