The Care Bears
The Confidence Secret
1st Part
Chapter 05

*****

- I hope everyone is here now - Cheer said gently, as all the boys and girls quieted down - I think I've already told everyone in particular why we're here, and now we want to know how to solve this problem.
As they had agreed, Emily and Cheer had gathered all the girls from the girl's class, and Amigo Bear and Julian all the boys. They were now sitting in the backyard of the young Hispanic boy's house, and some were still making fun of or playing bad taste when they entered. But when they saw the bears, they all stopped to hear what they meant.
- I don't want to take up too much of your time, though this subject deserves a great deal of thought for all of us - continued the female bear - After all, we all like to play, to be happy, to have friends. But it's not cool when someone gets excluded from a group because they have something different from the others.
- It's not because of language or skin color that we have to judge other people, the other children - said Amigo Bear, smiling - Look at me and Cheer Bear. We are different. She is pink, and I am red. She speaks English, and y hablo español (I speak Spanish); She's a girl, she likes to dress like one, and I'm a boy, I live as such. But we are both Care Bears, we have the same feelings, the same wills, the same mission.
- When we leave someone aside because of some difference, we're being biased - Cheer resumed - It's not because Julian's parents are from another country that all three of them are different from all you. And it's not because Emily's ancestors came from another continent and have a darker skin color, that she is different from the others.
The children said nothing, just looked delighted at those two bears teaching them how to be decent citizens. They had never heard any of this before, and with such sweet words and manner. The female bear noticed this, and continued:
- We're basically no different from each other. In addition to skin color or nationality, has anyone here seen any other difference between these two children and you?
No one dared to respond, but everyone was red with shame, which elicited a nice smile from Cheer.
- So if there are no differences, why do you make fun of them? - asked the polyglot bear - That is not fair to them, nor to yourselves. Not to mention that, as we said before, it hurts a lot...
- We thought it was not - one of the boys said in a low voice - We thought our provocations would not hurt Emily and Julian.
- But they do, and it only makes us sadder with you - the girl replied.
- Let's be friends then - a girl exclaimed excitedly - I'm sorry for the jokes I did of you, Emily.
- We apologize - another child said - We didn't want to make them sad. Can you forgive us?
- Of course yes! - Julian said happily - We have forgiven you. Let's all be friends now.
There was a general shout of happiness, and everyone rushed to embrace Julian and Emily, and after that, they went to embrace also Amigo Bear and Cheer, thanking them for everything they said and taught them. The two bears only smiled, seeing that so those boys and girls would become better children.
Soon the group moved away from the two bears, but Emily came back once more and handed Cheer a necklace.
- Why give me that? - the female bear asked in surprise.
- You have done good to me, and I have eternal debt to you - replied the girl - That necklace is for you to remember always, and do not hesitate to seek me out one day if you need help.
- Why, you do not have to worry about any of this, we just did what we like.
- But I want it - replied the smiling girl - This necklace is to seal our friendship and my debt. Accept, Cheer Bear.
The bear smiled and took the necklace, placing it on her neck. But before the girl pulled away, she took off her bracelet and handed it to the child.
- This is also to seal our friendship, since it is so important to you - the female bear said simply - Don't hesitate to call us if you are in trouble.
Emily had a big smile on her lips and hugged again Amigo Bear and Cheer, before running back to her friends. The two bears still stared at the group for a few moments before returning to Care-a-Lot, with a happy heart and a new sensation in their chest, that they could not tell what it was, but it was very good to feel.
*****
- Honestly, I still can’t believe you did that - Champ said sternly to Confidence.
- That I did what? - asked the fox, turning to the sportsman bear.
- You hit Calvin! No need to do this, a good conversation would be enough...
- He had a gun pointed at us - the fox said angrily - He was going to shoot us both. I just defended myself!
- A Care Bear does not attack people. Our task is to talk to humans, and if necessary, use the stare - said the bear, also in anger.
- And you think you'd have time to use the stare?!? He was going to kill us!
- A Care Bear never dies. You know that, Confidence!
The fox looked disdainfully at his companion, and turned his head to the other side, resting it in his hand, well sulk.
- Okay, but I don't want to be the first to find out if this is true - she muttered under her breath.
- Oh, but snooping into our stuff you want, is not it? - asked Champ with hot head, only to realize that he had said too much.
Confidence widened his eyes and turned back to his friend, surprised and shocked by the statement.
- WW-What do you mean, snooping on your things? - she stammered.
The bear frowned and looked at her friend sadly, stopping the cloud car in a cloud near the Kingdon of Caring, to speak better.
- I saw you in the storeroom - Champ said harshly - I saw you there, saw it even when you realized I was there and ran into the bathroom. We'd better tell each other the truth. What were you doing there?
Confidence choked on the question, her eyes widening and paling beneath her sand-colored pelage. The bear had asked the question quite frankly and directly, and there was a demand in his eyes for an answer.
- II-I can not say - the fox replied in a breath, his hands over his face.
- Why not? - asked the sportsman, with a touch of irritation in his voice - Don't you trust me?
- No! That's not it... - she resumed - It's just... I... I don't...
Champ had never seen anyone as bewildered as Confidence. It was as if for the first time in her life she did not know what to do and what to feel. Lowering his head, she dared not face his friend any longer, and his body trembled with fear and emotion.
- I promise I'll tell you one day, but not now! - she exclaimed suddenly - I only ask you to trust me, I'm not doing this for your evil.
- How can I trust you if you do not trust me? - asked the sportsman, very angry at the refusal of the fox.
- Please, Champ, I know you're fair. If I could, I would, but this is not the time yet...
- If you will not tell me, you'll tell Noble Heart, True Heart, and the other leaders. As soon as we get there, I'll tell them what I saw.
Champ declared this very seriously, and started the cloud car to continue his journey. It was when Confidence snapped the ignition key and held it out of range, making it difficult for his legs to approach him.
- No, not to them! - she cried, terror in her voice - All right! You won! I'll tell you everything, I swear to you! I'll tell you anything you want!
- You can start then.
- Not here, only in Care-a-Lot. Meet me on the gymnasium after dark and I'll tell you everything you want to know. But do not look for the founders and leaders, for everything you love!
The bear did not like that, but agreed to wait until night to listen to her friend and make a decision about what to do. On the other hand, after what had happened at Hector's house, they would not worry about the mission at that moment, and the rest of the day would be free, which would be very good for him, since he would enjoy the company of his friends and Cheer, mainly.
But for Confidence the rest of that day would be torture, since his secret mission had been discovered. It was not his intention to tell anything until the right moment, but now there was no way. However, talk to Champ would not be a bad thing. In the few months of her acquaintance, she realized that the sportsman was someone she could trust, and she would certainly help her with her purposes, which had no purpose in hurting the residents of the Care-a-Lot and the Forest of Feelings.

Anna, Jacob, Thompson, and Norman were in the family office in London, looking at each other half an hour ago. Despite the discovery of what could be the last clue of the big puzzle they were involved in, they were already tired of not reaching the end of the story. Looking at the weight in the shape of a heart, Norman studied the rustic map that appeared on one side.
- Our research shows that this is Newfoundland, in Canada - the assistant began - But the incredible thing is that it seems as old as Columbus's trip to America. Maybe it's even work of the Vikings.
- Our answers must be in Canada - Anna said, looking at the brothers - Surely we'll find everything we're looking for.
- Or another stupid weight - Jacob complained - It's been years since we started deciphering this mystery we found in the family manor in Newcastle, and so far we've got nothing! For me it's a waste of time.
- If it's a waste of time, then what are you doing here? - Anna asked irritably - Nobody forces you to stay on our side, go take care of your things!
- Calm down, please - Thompson interrupted - Now is not the time for that. Let's recap what we know and what we do not know, and what we can’t fit yet.
- All right - agreed the girl - It all begins when Jacob finds a diary of our ancestor, Sir Gregory Gresgon, who is said to have lived between 1672 and 1759. In that diary, Gregory tells of an ancient family secret, which he Heard of his grandfather Charles, and had heard of previous generations.
- This is treated as a familiar legend, until we find a large wine cellar in the basement, with a trunk with gold ornaments - Thompson continues - In the trunk, there are documents from another of our ancestors, Henry Gresgon, who lived Between 1250 and 1336, where he says he protected the family secret by sending him to a safe place, where he can only be found if we follow the clue he passed and we find the people who helped him.
- Through this clue, we discovered that Henry was a member of the ancient Knights Templar Order, and that to hide this secret from the eyes of his enemies, were used dozens of boats that left to the west and did not return. At no time is it quoted exactly what this burden is, but by the clues it should be a part of the great treasure of the Templars.
- All this we discovered when we were able to find these heart-shaped weights all over England and the United Kingdom in recent years - Jacob said, a little more calmly - Now we find that this safe place should be in America. So far, it is firm ground, if one may say so.
- The rest is pure speculation, like that quote from the second weight we found, where it was said that it was not humans who helped Henry - said Norman, who worked for the family many years ago and was someone of confidence - Well, say that the Templars came into contact with occult forces when they stayed in Jerusalem. It was they who brought the idea of the vault, of the Gothic style, of modern geometry, among other points.
- Are you suggesting that they had immediate contacts in third degree? - the naturalist joked, rolling his eyes - Norman, you've been reading a lot those Star Trek stories...
- There are many things that mankind is still unaware of. Remember the Nimila tigers, 30 years ago no one imagined them to exist, and it is a people who have a great intelligence.
- Perhaps Norman isn't entirely wrong in his reasoning -Thompson said thoughtfully - Have you ever heard of Care Bears?
-Of course, they live at the end of the street next to the Easter Bunny, with funds for the werewolf - Jacob said as he huffed - What does this urban legend have to do with our history?
- I've heard something, but I've never stopped to the details - the employee confessed - Who are these Care Bears?
- A few years ago began to appear in the media a series of reports about an unknown species of science, made up of small colorful and anthropomorphic beings, resembling bears, lions, horses, dogs, and other races, but whose science has not been able to gather concrete evidence of its existence. All who have had contact with such beings say that they use vehicles similar to cars made of cloud, and live in a place called Kingdom of Caring, that is between the clouds of the sky. Hundreds of children claim to have been helped by these people, who call themselves The Care Bears Family, but all of this is just considered urban legend. When I was in Liverpool a few years ago, working in the cotton export industry, I met a boy who had been aided by the bears, and who told his experience in detail to me. He went to the Kingdom of Caring where most things have heart shape like this weight.
- They're just legends - Jacob interrupted in a bad mood.
- It's not a legend, it's a reality! - said Thompson excitedly - They symbolize all the good things in us, and I believe they exist, even if it's only in our minds. But there is always a bottom of truth in everything. If this occurred in relation to Nimila's tigers, may also occur with Care Bears.
They were silent for several minutes, until the younger brother continued:
- Regardless, it's true that this last weight shows some place in America on your map. Just find out where it is.
- This is with Anna - Jacob growled, turning to his sister - Did you find anything useful in your research?
She stared at the older brother for a long time, as if were suspicious of him, but she said nothing about it, because it seemed to be a trick of the imagination.
- Well, I've been researching and I've come to a conclusion - the girl began, taking a printed map of Canada - This region shown on the weight map certainly sits on the Labrador Peninsula in Canada. This is where we must continue our pursuits.
- It's much better than having to search for across America - Norman said - But it's still like we have to rummage through a territory the size of the United Kingdom.
- Not necessarily. Analyzing with a magnifying glass, I found a small and outworn "X" on the map, near the place where Halifax is today. Certainly that is where the answers to our questions lie.
- Or more questions for us to answer - Jacob said - But if our next stop is Canada, then we'll go immediately. I'll get the documents and tickets. For now, good evening, everyone.
And saying this he went out the door, with cold manners.
- I don't like his way, who did he pull? - asked Anna.
- Oh, you just feel what all the brothers feel about each other - Thompson said - Jacob is a good brother, it's us who don't understand him... I think... - he concluded thoughtfully.

There's a love inside of me.
That I can no longer control
If I look at you and see your way
Of smiling and talking
It's something so weird
That I can no longer understand
A stupid little thing
That I like to feel
What is to love you

I hope sweetheart
May my love for you not be in vain
I give you as a gift my life
My destiny and my heart

There's a love inside of me.
That I can no longer control
If I look at you and see your way
Of smiling and talking
It's something so weird
That I can no longer understand
A stupid little thing
That I like to feel
What is to love you
Love you…

Tenderheart and Love-a-Lot were busy, dating. After all, it was little the time that they had available to be together, and deep down they were thanking the skies for having taken the day off because of the case of Ralph, Carlos, and Andre. Sitting on the cloud floor beside their cars, they were hugging each other, talking about plans for the future. Always a gentleman, Tenderheart took the hand of his beloved with a satisfied smile on his lips, only wondering when he would be able to make that request he so much wanted to do...
Request that Love-a-Lot also wanted to receive, since it would symbolize the complete union of the two. It would be the first couple to join in Care-a-Lot since the wedding of Joyful Heart and Looter Heart, the parents of Hugs and Tugs, but who had been missing for some years.
But at that moment the brown bear and the pink bear just wanted to make the most of being together.
- Did I tell you today that I love you? - Tenderheart asked softly in his girlfriend's ear.
- Twenty times, my dear - she answered in a sweet voice - I have to confess that I had never imagined that I would love you until the day you came to me and asked me to date you.
- Ah, it was not easy to make that decision. After all, we have a mission to fulfill, and I was afraid our love would be disapproved. But when Nobleheart told me there was no problem...
- Honestly, I'm not recognizing Nobleheart lately - said Love-a-Lot after a few seconds in silence - He's so distant from his work, it looks like he's with the head in the clouds. Will be because of age?
- After I discovered that Grams Bear is a motorcyclist and likes to listen to loud rock, I don't know what to say. Maybe he's bothered about something, maybe its love affairs with Trueheart, and his modesty prevents him from expressing himself or talking to anyone. And deep down I think it's not just him.
- Who else is in trouble?
- Champ and Cheer, who are still in the flirting phase. Or rather, they have already passed this stage and have not even noticed. And talking about her...
At that moment Cheer and Amigo Bear arrived from their mission in Canada. The female bear looked at the couple and smiled, heading toward them, followed by the polyglot bear.
- Taking advantage of dates? - she asked playfully.
- Whenever possible - replied Love-a-Lot - Have you two completed your mission?
- It was not too difficult; Children today are more sensitive to understand about racism and wrong jokes - explained Amigo Bear - But suffice it to explain that it hurts the feelings of others to stop them, cierto? (right?)
- Amigo Bear always speaking Spanish to our despair - Tenderheart joked - But I have to thank you for teaching Portuguese to me.
- Ah, did you have to speak Portuguese today? - asked the polyglot with a smile - Sometimes it is very good to learn new languages, after all we have to deal with children from all over the world, not just Anglo-Saxon countries. Pero si no te importa, yo me ocuparé de outro assunto ahora. Nos vemos más tarde (But, if you do not mind, I'll take care of another matter now. See you later).
And smiling, Amigo Bear waved his hand away from his friends, who stood there without understanding a word of what he had said.
- And your mission? - Cheer asked finally the couple - How's it going?
- Simpler than we thought - said Love-a-Lot - Now I can understand why the SongFellow Strum loves its locomotive cloud. These train lovers are very easy to deal with.
- Easy, but demanding - Tenderheart corrected quickly - But I believe we will have finished this mission before the end of the day. Speaking of which, I'm going to talk to Braveheart about the list of the latest Care Bear Cousins missions.
- All right, dear, I'll wait for you here - his girlfriend said, kissing Tenderheart's cheek.
- I'll be right back - he said, standing up and waving at both of them.
As the bear drew back, Cheer gingerly asked her friend:
- He already asked to marry of you?
- Not yet - replied Love-a-Lot, also cheerfully - He certainly is waiting for the right moment. Thank you for telling me about it. But how did you know?
- Tenderheart asked me to help him choose a ring that suits you, and he could not deny me what he would do.
- You can’t imagine how happy I am!
- I can try to imagine. I can't wait when Champ to do the same to me. But... - the teenage bear closed his face and looked sad - But I think I have competition.
- How so? - asked Love-a-Lot without understanding.
At the same instant, Champ and Confidence landed with the cloud car near where the two female bears were. Despite the discussion they had on the way, the two sportsmen behaved as if nothing had happened, and there was a great atmosphere of friendship between them.
- Does that explain your question? - replied Cheer for Love-a-Lot.
- But Champ is crazy about you! - she exclaimed - Are you jealous of him and Confidence?
- Would not you feel that way if this "offered" bumped its winds to the side of Tenderheart?
- What language is that, Cheer? Nothing justifies talking like this about Confidence. She has nothing to do with Champ, this is something of your head. And behave because she's coming.
Champ and Confidence quickly approached the two bears. Love-a-Lot got up and greeted them both gently, but Cheer just folded his arms and stared seriously at the fennec fox.
- So, how's your mission going? - the first asked, since it was customary of the bears to share their feelings and difficulties during the missions.
- It's hard to deal with Hector - the sportsman confessed - He already trusts us, and is regaining his confidence in sports, but he's still very upset about his friends.
- Not to mention his father, with a revolver pointed at us - Confidence interrupted pointedly.
- With... What?!? - Love-a-Lot exclaimed - Has the boy's father pointed a gun at you two? But was he scared?
- You certainly saw Confidence ahead of you - Cheer whispered coldly, staring again at the fox.
The fennec, for his part, also faced the pink bear with surprise and displeasure, while Champ replied:
- No! That's the worst. He knew who we were and wanted to kill us for being Care Bears.
- Oh, heavens! So he's a monster.
- You bet he did - Confidence said - But he did feel a little what happens when a karate fighter is provoked.
- What you do with him?
- I hit him hard enough to let go of the gun and get weak enough long to we run away. That's what saved us.
- Ah! So now the little fox turned into heroin, right? - Cheer asked mischievously, staring at Confidence more and more fiercely - Now all that remains is to be overconfident and kill yourself so that everything is well...
- Cheer! - shouted Champ, surprised at that - What do you think you're saying?
- Just what will happen if she keeps acting like this! And honestly, I never trusted her and her blue eyes. It would be better for all of us if she simply disappears from here!
Confidence had to be careful not to jump on Cheer, as his blood boiled with that provocation. With a single blow, she could knock out the pink bear. But the martial arts training taught her to control herself and stay calm, and after taking a deep breath, she stared coldly at the opponent and said to Champ:
- See you later. Now, control this madwoman before I lose my mind and make a mistake - and saying so, she walked away quickly.
- Crazy?!? I? - shouted Cheer, starting up, but being controlled by Champ and Love to Lot - Come back here, you coward! Let's solve this. I'm not afraid of you, your wh...
- Shut up! - shouted the bear, feeling as if a knife pierced his heart by sending his girlfriend to shut up, which she did quickly, surprised by the order – Love-a-Lot, let me talk to her alone, please – said the sportsman after few moments, more calm.
Love-a-Lot hesitated as to whether to leave the couple alone, but she convinced himself that it was best for them. So she walked away in silence. Meanwhile, Cheer stood motionless, arms crossed, brows furrowed, snorting with rage, the same face that Champ made.
- Cheer Bear, simply I'm very sad to hear your words - began the bear athlete - For no reason in the world could you have shouted and offended Confidence of the way you...
- Always Confidence! Always her! - Cheer shouted, half uncontrolled - You defend her so much, and you do not even know who she is!
- I really do not know! All I know is that she made me realize that I do not know you yet as I should, too!
- Champ Bear, this is totally different. She's someone we can’t trust, she's new here. We do not know what your intentions are. I already...
- You is a female bear pampered, stubborn, jealous, companion, likes to laugh at nothing, and looks cute when is nervous - interrupted the sportsman in a good mood, smiling rather maliciously.
- Jealous? Who says I'm jealous? - asked the female bear forcefully - I'm only worried about you.
- Oh, you're worried? So it's not jealousy?
- Well... Maybe it's a bit - Cheer replied timidly, after a few seconds.
The couple looked at each other for a moment, and Champ approached of beloved.
- I know deep down we both know about our feelings - he began, holding Cheer's hand gently and smiling - If I've never spoken it openly before with you, I'll tell you now, I love you!
- You love me? - repeated the rosy bear with a small, satisfied smile.
- More than anyone else.

When I met you, honey.
I did not believe
You were the girl I dreamed of.
Your eyes always beautiful
Looking into my
I looked for heaven and even, honey

I thanked God

For finally finding love
Which I always waited with so many ardors
I never imagined my honey
See you some day
I did not know
That you existed

For finally finding love
Which I always waited with so many ardors
I never imagined my honey
See you some day
I did not know
That you existed

I did not know
That you existed

For the first time, Champ spoke so explicitly of his feelings to Cheer, and it is not hard to imagine that she was very happy about it. All doubts faded from his heart. After all, he loved her, and that was what mattered. Wordlessly, she picked up her paw, gave him a kiss on her cheek, and they walked together through the Kingdom of Caring, smiling and singing happily.
*****
Late afternoon was approaching, and as usual, Andre kept his things in his private closet at the station. He could not wait to get home, take a cold shower and rest. But scarcely had he set foot on the street, he came face to face with the pair of bears, who already expected him as if it were the most common thing in the world.
- Já chegaram (Already arrived)? - asked the railworker - Queria ir antes para casa, tomar um banho, descansar um pouco (I wanted to go home first, take a shower, get some rest)...
- É que nossa missão está praticamente concluída, só falta conversarmos com você (Our mission is almost finished, we just have to talk to you) - Tenderheart said - Queremos ter certeza de que fizemos uma boa escolha e o que você irá fazer depois (We want to make sure we have a good choice and what you will do next).
- Eu mereço... Tudo bem. Sentemo-nos nesse banco para conversar (Okay, I deserve it... Sit down on this bench to talk).
There was a small square across the small station, where the three of them sat on one of the concrete benches. For a few moments, none of them said anything, until Tenderheart asked André if he really loved his son.
- Eu… Como assim (I... How so)? - asked the stationmaster, surprised and angry - Eu amo meu filho, minha família! Vocês duvidam disso (I love my son, my family! Do you doubt that)?
I just had to ask that to see your reaction. In fact, we already knew your answer. Understand, Mr. Andre. Your kid, like most kids here, does not have a lot of fun and even a lot of opportunities. When you meet him as soon as you go to Ralph's house, you must be prepared for what you will see and what you will do).
- Bom, e o que verei e farei então (Well, what shall I see and do then)?
You will see the world in miniature. After all, that's what Ralph does. He builds toy trains for himself in his model, a great hobby that must be practiced by more people. We chose your child because he likes it too, and you for being his father, just to support him in what he does and show the other parents that this play will be good for everyone. Besides you being a railworker and liking the profession, it helps and a lot in persuading people).
- Do jeito que estão falando, até parece que será uma tarefa difícil (The way you're talking, it sounds like a difficult task) - the human muttered with a sly smile on his lips.
You yourself know, there are many people who consider the railroad to be rubble that must be destroyed. And who somehow defends her, as in Ralph's case, is regarded as a public enemy. At least that is what we observe in this country during our missions. If you do not want this task, that's fine, we'll understand, and we'll make Carlos understand, too. But if you think you're ready for it, and for the mishaps that will come, then accept it. And if you do, you can be sure that if you need to, just call us and we'll always be ready to help you to talk to people).
- Pois acho que estou preparado para o que der e vier, desde que não atrapalhe o meu emprego também (Well, I guess I'm prepared for whatever comes, as long as it does not interfere with my job, too) - Andre said after a few seconds.
- Aceita então essa missão (Do you accept this mission)?
- Aceito! Pelo bem de meu filho, aceito (I accept! For the sake of my son, I accept).
Even though he did not understand a word of Portuguese, Love-a-Lot could understand enough through the tone of voice and the expressions that his boyfriend and the human made, about the subject and the course he took. So when she heard André's positive response, she jumped with joy, to surprise of two.
- That's really good! - exclaimed the female bear in English before pointing to the street - And Carlos and Ralph are coming.
The André's son and the old man came down the street, the first hopping and the other slow and distracted as ever, to meet the railworker. When they saw him standing next to the pair of bears, they ran up to the trio, giving each other a big hug.
- I'm so glad to see you here - the boy said to Tenderheart in English - Ralph and I really wanted to know if you were coming back here.
- We promise and we keep our word - said Love-a-Lot, smiling.
- So, what do you think of us go to my house for a chat? - Ralph asked - I made a delicious lunch for all of you with the help of my new friend here.
And he put his hand on Carlos's head, and he smiled at that.
- I don't know if we should accept... - Tenderheart replied, grinning at his girlfriend - It was our mission, after all, to introduce André and Carlos to you, and we've already done it...
- Ah! - Carlos complained - I thought you were staying longer with us...
The brown bear was about to respond when Love-a-Lot touched his shoulder and murmured something in his ear.
- All right, we'll stay for the snack - agreed the young leader bear - But only if you hug Love-a-Lot and me.
It did not have to be repeated twice, since Carlos gave a big hug to the bears couple, before the group was on its way to Ralph's house, where André finally knew the gigantic model the old man owned. To say that the railworker had his jaw dropped was not enough, since for several minutes he could not articulate a single word before the astonishment of that wonderful miniature world. It was not just him, since the bear couple did not get tired of looking at the model too. Even the owner of the house did not tire, and all the time he would move something here, put something there, a train would leave here, lit a light there. Only after two hours that everyone went to take their lunch on the porch of the host's house, which never tired of telling stories of what he had lived and what he had seen, especially in relation to railroads, and how much he loved the Paulista, whom he had adopted as his favorite railroad. Tenderheart also took the opportunity to tell some of Care Bear Family stories, especially the funniest ones, drawing laughs of admiration and joy from their new friends.
It was past seven at night, and the light of day was rapidly disappearing when the bear couple said goodbye to their new friends.
- I was very happy to meet you - said Carlos tearfully - Will we still see each other again?
- Whenever you need of we, you'll see us, even if it's only here - Tenderheart said, pointing to the boy's heart - But I think we'll see each other personally, and it will not take long.
- That's better. Be assured that in me will always have a friend and defender.
- You don't know how happy we are to hear you say that - said Love-a-Lot, smiling and hugging the boy - We'll always be by your side, and if you ever need to, don't hesitate to call us.
- And how I do it? - asked the boy curiously.
- You'll know how to do it, and we'll know how to listen - said the bear with another smile - Now we must go.
And giving rise to one cloud car, the bear couple jumped into the car and made his way across the heavens to Care-a-Lot, while your friends from the village of Batovi waved animated.
- O que acha Ralph (What do you think, Ralph)? - André asked, looking at the old man - Essa não foi uma experiência fantástica, louca (Was not this a fantastic experience, crazy)?
- Fantástica sim (Fantastic, yes) - said the other - Nunca será louca. Eles são tão iguais e tão diferentes a nós. Mas como Tenderheart disse, certamente nos reencontraremos. Não acha isso também (But never crazy. They are so equal and so different from us. But as Tenderheart said, we will surely meet again. Do not you think that too)?
- Certamente. Eles mesmos avisaram que talvez essa missão esteja apenas começando (Certainly. They warned themselves that maybe this mission is just beginning).
And, like Carlos, the two returned to look at the sky, until they lost the car cloud of view.
