Some folks envision a time travel machine as the Tardis like in the series, Dr. Who...or like the jazzed out DeLorean in the Michael J. Fox movie, Back to the Future. This depiction is more like what I envision a time travel machine as being.
This Machine was built in the year 1970. Forty years later, a coyote cub will be born (in 2010), who will by the time he is age 8 (in 2018) get himself in a spot of trouble messing around with the machine...

I picture the first 38 seconds of the song going well with the moments when the family who adopted Clarence in 1960 and friends are bidding Clarence farewell just before Clarence is about to depart back to his time in the future.

One thing some folks have imagined about time travel was, "Just think what it would be like to go back several years in time, then your older present self is introduces to your younger past self. Out of the different scenarios envisioned about such a trip to the recent past, that is probably the most common one. Here's the scenario how I myself would picture that; Supposing if a 25 year old fox character named Geoffrey in 2019 could travel back 8 years to a time when he was age 17...Since no one or nothing can be in two places at the same given time, upon Geoffrey Fox's arrival to the year 2011, Geoffrey would be there as a 25 year old fox and not as a 17 year old fox. After Geoffrey's parents recognize him, and Geoffrey explains what happened from 8 years in the future on February 21st, 2019, Mom might ask Geoffrey, "Son, please get in that machine and go back to the day and year you left so we can have you back here with us in this day and time as a 17 year old cub again. Dad might tell Geoffrey, "I'm going to keep February 21st, 2019 in mind. And on February 20th, 2019, I'm going to try to talk you out of making this confounded trip through time". So after Geoffrey at age 25 gets back into the time machine and returns to 2019, in 2011 Geoffrey at age 17 looks in a mirror, then announces to Mom and Dad, "Hey! Mom! Dad! I don't look like a grown up any more". Dad says to Geoffrey, "I guess I really can't paddle you for that time travel charade...When you were 25, you were too old to paddle...And I can't paddle you for what you won't be doing until 8 years from now".
And supposing you were to ask Geoffrey Fox in the year 2019, "Do you recall that time in 2011 when you were from this year at the age you are now". This is the story Geoffrey Fox would have to tell; "I sure do...It was weird. I was age 17 back then, and I was in my room putting a car model together. Then suddenly, just like out of the blue, I was stepping out of a machine as a 25 year old, and thinking this isn't meant to be me yet...Of course it didn't take me long to figure out what was going on because I had recollections that I've traveled from 2019 to what was then the present in 2011. Needless to say, my mom and dad were sure surprised when they recognized me, especially when I explained to them my time travel trip...Dad even told me he was going to try to talk me out of taking that time trip 8 years later. Then shortly afterwards, I took a seat back inside the machine, and after setting the controls to return to 2019, the machine vanished. Then suddenly, I was again 17 years old and sitting on the ground where the machine was only seconds ago...I had figured that was because back in 2011, 2019 wasn't going to happen for another 8 years yet...So I got up off the ground, looked in a mirror, and announced to Mom and Dad I was no longer a 25 year old adult, which they were so happy to see. I then went back into my room and and resumed assembling my car model".
Then you might ask Geoffrey Fox, "Here it is February 22nd, 2019...Did you ever follow your dad's advice two days ago not to take that trip back to 2011?".
Geoffrey Fox would answer, "Naw, I didn't. I took that trip anyway. That's why I can still recall that event back in 2011 I just now told you about when I was 17 years old".
On the flip side...An otter character named Wanda is 75 years old in 2019 (Fortunately Wanda never married and had cubs...fortunately for what is about to be explained). A 16 year old male otter named Vince travels back to 1959, and is stranded in 1959 for several months. During that time he meets Wanda Otter when she was age 15. Vince not knowing Wanda is the same Wanda Otter he knows from 2019, Vince and Wanda fall in love. The day comes when young scientists were able to complete repairs on the time machine...But with makeshift repairs, the machine is only good for one more trip through time. Just before Vince's departure back to 2019, Wanda comes into the machine long enough for Vince and Wanda to kiss good bye...However, Wanda waited to long to get back out of the machine and the door automatically closes and the machine takes off back to 2019 with both Vince and Wanda. In the year 2019, the scientists who repaired the time machine 60 years ago are now elderly. And now memories of the event from 1959 slowly come to them as a result of the alterations made in the past tense...Thus they now have some news to break to 75 year old Wanda Otter. They tell Wanda about how she left in the time with Vince in 1959 when they went to send Vince back in the machine to 2019. They tell Wanda Otter, "In about an hour from now, the time machine should arrive out in that field where we programed it 60 years ago to land...When it does, you won't be 75 years old. You'll be stepping out of the time machine as a 15 year old cub with Vince. The fact is, because of the alteration being made in the past, it will be that you never experienced the years between 1959 and 2019. When Wanda Otter, now at age 15, arrives to 2019 with Vince Otter, she is reunited with her parents who are now almost old enough to be her great grand parents...Her siblings are in their 70s...She is introduced for the first time to adult nieces and nephews much older than she is.... ...To Wanda's parents and siblings, it's been 60 years since they've seen her last...To Wanda, it seemed like only a few minutes during that trip through time.
Four years later, in 2023, Vince Otter, then at age 20, and Wanda Otter, then at age 19, marry and have cubs.
Wanda Otter won't be age 75 until year 2079...in which by then, Vince will be age 76.
