hmm, actually I think its more of a case where Jessica has been a calming influence on him and made him just a little less bestial in his actions toward the enemy. This may of course not go with certain members of the enemy forces but luckily for this guy it does in his case. i think I see why Toshubi's master has decided to put them together as a team. No more needless bloodshed. oh the people who need it are definitely going to die still, but those poor minor minion types might actually survive more often...
