First of all. Looks awesome.
Actually a panther is a cat from the panthera family (for example a cougar is not a panther but a puma).

So, yes, a PUMA is also a panther. The only big cat that is not referred to as a panther is a cheetah. But, 'big' in reference to cougars and cheetah is a stretch. Panthera is usually the referred-to group when talking about big cats. So, tigers and lions are panthers, not cheetahs, yet cougars are because they are reffered to as such.
