NOTE: Bear in mind that, in the end, Bodorian is just English with a fancy coat of paint. Also, while this was fun to make and potentially useful for me as the writer for the comic, it's very unlikely that this will show up in the comic unless there's a specific need for it.

The Bodorian alphabet is based on phonemes: units of sound. It recognizes 48 consonant sounds (basic and blended) and 15 vowel sounds (basic and blended). There is no capitalization in written Bodorian, and each letter is only sounded out one way. This makes for an uncomplicated and reasonably easy system to learn. Because the majority of Bodorians are right-handed, written Bodorian is done left-to-right and top-to-bottom.

While the designs for the letters J, M, V and Y officially use a 45-degree angle, in handwritten Bodorian this usually ends up as a curved line (which is commonly accepted).

Because there is no capitalization to mark the start of a sentence, Bodorian syntax requires either a period, question mark, exclamation point, or interrobang (a combination of question mark and exclamation point) at both the start and end of a sentence. However, these do not necessarily need to be the same. If a sentence is broken up with a comma, it can (for example) begin with a period and end with a question mark.

It's imporant to note that Bodorian (spoken and written) is an artificial language. As a result, many of the curiosities and "quirks" that are a part of natural language are not there. The only exception is the letter "KH". While it is composed of the individual letters "K" and "H", it actually represents the "CH" phoneme.

For numbers, Bodor uses a simple base 10 system, using numerals 0 to 9.

There are far more symbols and markings that are a part of the written language, but most are only used for monetary, mathematical and scientific purposes.
