Haha, but you'll never guess what happened. See... for some reason I don't recall, I wanted to play some Dwarf Fortress again... and apparently there are animal people as playable races in the Adventurer game mode now... so... uuuuuuh... one thing led to another... I was checking out the list, and stumbled onto the "wild boar man" towards the bottom... and suddenly all I could think of was that limited edition "Gamorrean Executioner" statue I discovered randomly 2 months ago... which only serves to trigger one of the "Conan The Barbarian" themes in my head... and... and...

I couldn't resist! I had already been struck with how it sort of like a randomly generated BRUTAL AND UNFORGIVING, MERCILESS DnD world... so with that Conan theme booming in my mind I just HAD to play a wild boarbarian pigman. But it is Dwarf Fortress... soooo... uuuh... things went about as expected I suppose. Aside from being stuck underground, because starting in a Dwarf civilization with no idea how to reach the surface world... and not remembering how to play the game... and a random encounter with a cave crocodile. Yeah... about as well as expected... maybe if I hadn't accidentally skipped past putting points in ANY skills and attributes I might have at least lasted a little longer in that fight... but fuck it is so damn awkward. XD

Maybe one day Dwarf Fortress will be a little more like a game, than... well... such a clusterfuck to re-learn. Ugh. Because it really, really is the kind of game I want to play, with epic adventures and everything. And maybe one day it'll actually be rrreeeeeaaaalll pretty to look at too. But I'm really more concerned about how awkward all the hotkeys and stuff are; the ASCII look is fine.
