A little something I doodled up on the 17th featuring myself and a very special guy in my life. Took a bit of time to make sure it ended up nice and pretty, and it certainly was worth the two weeks of work! Both my Shiba Inu and his Blanford Fox I'm quite satisfied with!
This piece was a lot of experiments; this was practice with two objects (characters) interacting with one another, which is something I've struggled with in the past in class. I expanded on how I do fur using CSP's "finger tip" tool, mixing it with many pencil layers of various hues to get the body and shadow consistency I desired. I also mixed up colors a tad, trying new things for a cleaner, more rendered background; I really like how that turned out in this one compared to previous pieces. I'm especially pleased with how the sky and clouds came out; turns out all it takes ot make a nice cloud is some watercolor brushes and a 'liquid' eraser!

All in all, a very satisfying piece done for both myself and my better half. Expect lots of art in this vein between commissions and contract work; I have a substantial backlog of sketches with the two of us that I must complete.
